Announcing MyEtherWallet v3.24.00: Difficulty Bomb&Updating blockchain

Due to the complexity of the Bomb and the increased risk of hacking, we pushed a rather drastic update that implements a number of changes and improvements, including enhancement of efficiency and scalability of the blockchain, acceleration of transaction speed, and additional security in the form new formats private keys which will help protect users against hacking.
If you are using private key or UTC, then you need to go into the wallet and update manually, otherwise they risk being unprotected.

How do i update my Ethereum wallet?

1. Go to our website MyEtherWallet.com
2. Unlock your wallet using your Keystore File (UTC / JSON) or simply use your private key.
3. Click Unlock and wait for the update.

Please note that you need to manually update your wallet, failure to do so may result in funds being lost.

I have a GTX 1080 Gigabyte Waterforce.

Using msi afterburner.

Power limit 68% Core clock -400 (effective base clock 1620Mhz) Memory clock +985 (effective speed of 5593Mhz)

Stays at 46celcius

Using Claymore miner and ethereum I'm getting 26-27Mh/s.

Try the above settings but start with your memory clock at 400 and work your way up, watch your hashrate while you are doing this.

I say this because, as an example, you can overclock the ram to +800 but it will perform worse than at +400.

For some reason when I go above 985 on the mem power usage drops and the card goes to around 21Mh/s.

Hope this helps.

That Troll Cheesy

You need to wait about 2-3 weeks to be again in stock.
1060 has lower hashes, 23-24MH/s I think look at benchmarks, but better power consumption.

The problem I have with the 1060s I bought is that some have Hynix RAM and others have Samsung RAM.
Samsung RAM 1060s I am getting 23 MH/s at about 65 - 75Watt per card.
Hynix RAM 1060s I can only get up to 18/19MH/s at like 80Watt per card.

And you have no idea which version of RAM you are going to get.

Same thing happens with almost every card, micron memory rx 470s had a maximum of 25mhs with me, while samsung ram ones could go up to 30mhs, its just a risk that you're going to take and you can always send it back to the shop if they support that

Thinking GTX1070 is the best choise now, 33 Mh/s on Ethash with 140-150 Wattage, and for other algos it's very good hashrate

That is the reason the price of 1070 is so high now.

GTX 1070 is a very flexable card that is good at almost all GPU mineable algos.

Down side is the cost - before the recent shortage-induced GOUGE pricing issues, it was around 2x the cost of the RX 470/480/570/580 (depending on the specific models, sometimes a HAIR over usually a little under) which made it not even close on a hash/$ basis for many coins, specifically including ETH.

Up side - no worries about having to mod or flash the BIOS to achieve high hashrates, and NVidia drivers TEND to have fewer just totally garbage versions than AMD drivers do.

At pricing for most of the last month, it became VERY competative to superior to the RX cards unless you could sneak in a VERY low cost deal on an RX card - and the 1070 price started climbing TOO as a result of the shortage of RX cards and their crazy-high pricing.

We might be seeing the start of the end of that though, with the "mining specific" cards starting to show up in actual quantities AND with the major drop in profitability of MOST gpu mined coins the last 3 weeks or so.

Better in which way? The hashrates must be a way lower.

I am using stock settings, 1060s @ ~18MH/s, 480 8GB @ ~24MH/s, 480 4GB ~21MH/s

Ended up mixing 1060s and 480s to accommodate 5 cards each on four rigs 750 Watts supplies.

2 x 1060 + 3 x 480 in two rigs and 3 x 480 + 2 x 1060 in other two.

Comparing the power consumption, card cost and other factors, I would not mind losing 3 MH/s per card over 4 GB 480s for a cooler, power efficient and far more stable system.

Read here thats easy to mix AMD and Nvidia Cards on Win10. Out of curiosity the will to expand how it is possible to mix the drivers ?  Roll Eyes

Win 7 and Win 10 can automatically handle the mixed drivers - though you have to manually install them if you want mining-optimised driver versions, and both have a very bad habit of auto-updating you to the latest DON'T WORK FOR BEANS ON MINING drivers if you don't get autoupdate disabled.

I suspect M$ been working on that for a while because they saw the "mixed GPU" capabilities of DX12 comming way ahead of time and wanted to be ready for when DX12 hit "production" release.

I am using 1060 3GB Mini with single fan option.

The rigs are running cooler and better as compared to 480's
Better in which way? The hashrates must be a way lower.

zec hashrate beats the 480, and eth hashrate is still ~3/4 as much at a similar/lower price and better power usage.

you can find the mini 1060 cards for as little as $200usd/$260cad

You haven't been looking at RX 470/480/570/580 prices - when you can find ANY AT ALL - lately.

My check of NewEgg just before I logged over here showed the LOWEST such card at over $600, and only 4 options in stock (many OUT OF STOCK for under $400 but are those going to STAY under $400 when they finally ARE in stock?)

To be fair, 1070 pricing seems to have taken a sudden jump into low-end 1080 territory the last couple of days, and I'm noticing a shortage of certain models as well.

Ran across an interesting article - seems like Samsun and Micron are both having major "teething pains" trying to transition to new "sub-20nm" process, to the point they're not meeting production goals. Hynix on the other hand is not transitioning.
Apparently this is feeding a price rise on DDR4 across the board (and I would PRESUME it's also affecting GDDR5 for the same reason) and is also feeding shortages.
