Among the promising ones in the market nowadays are ETH, XRP, TRX, NEO and EOS. These are actually good bets which are good buys at their deflated price nowadays. They are not just hype coins; each has actually its own special use case. So they're really a good catch from those weak-handed dumpers. Even if you lose a little now because of the high volatility of the market, you'll surely make good profit from them when it goes uptrend.
I think Stellar is the most valuable because it works with many banks around the world to develop cross-border remittances and payments, and even more than Ripple in the future.
I fully agree with your opinion, Stellar has a fast, low-cost platform that has more of Stellar's decentralized trading platforms such as Stellarx, Stellar Decentralized Exchange, as well as more ICOs that choose Stellar platforms. It's really very potential in the future.
Undoubtedly, bitcoin is the first in my list, and I think it goes without saying why. Also, I woul go for IOTA – because of omission of transaction fees and connection with the IoT. Also: Ethereum (as it is the second cryptocurrency after bitcoin by its market capitalization and popularity); Dash (because it provides anonymity and fast transaction with functions of PrivateSend and InstaSend); Stellar (as a blockchain solution for instant international payments with minimal fees); Cardano (because its concept is based on a scientific attitude).
I don't there is a "promising cryptocurrency" out there aside from bitcoin. We all know that Bitcoin is a decentralized digital currency and the altcoins there are "centralized" meaning it has been created by a group of people. Yes I can see that other top coins are promising there like ETH or XLM or EOS or XRP but I just see Bitcoin as the only promising cryptocurrency for me nothing else. I know that Bitcoin will give huge profit to the holders of it.

Scalability: The ability for the sidechain to be completely decoupled from the mainchain, so no modifications of the core client is required (except the initial implementation of the sidechains support that is done only once).
Safety: Possible security impacts in the case of a faulty implementation of the sidechain functionalities are bounded inside the sidechain and are limited only to the sidechain balance in the mainchain.

I am optimistic that crypto will continue to grow because they have extraordinary potential and have not been fully utilized for all. ethereum, ripple, EOS, NANO and ADA will provide the best colors in the crypto market for the next five years
I bet more on newer platforms this time like the IOTA and EOS. There are lot more like these like Komodo but I think the first two are the ones that I like investing more. I think they are the most promising in terms of the technology they offer in crypto. If there are technologies to invest right now are the ones toward crosschaining.
Like in first comment every person should start from top 10 coins on market cap, first invest in some of them and only later invest in others. Now market is huge compared with past years, so many markets, pairs and coins. It's impossible to be sure in any investment this days, it's like gambling, you invest and wait, what happens happens. Before finding a coin to invest in, be sure in what you wish, how big profit and how long you are ready to wait. Bitcoin will bring double profit in next year or two, some coins can deliver x10, maybe we will see coins that can rise even more. I believe that just some coins will rise through period of one year, for some huge rises we need to be patient, maybe more than two years. Have some from everything is a good strategy, if you don't know in which coins to invest.
Recipe for disaster. Take a look at the top 10 altcoins (apart from Bitcoin) for the last 5 years and you will see this list changes every so often. If anyone took this advice last year, for example, you would be buying Ethereum and Litecoin and Ripple. And look where they are now.
There's no fixed strategy or pattern. Invest not by numbers and promises. Invest in your research and believe in it.
For me it'll have to be Ethereum, stellar, ripple, monero. I like coins that have real world applications that's why recently, I've been buying Tapcoin. I can pay for meals and drinks with them, also I'm buying MFX, even though they'll still at ICO, they may be the hope for adoption we're all waiting for.

Uuhm there are lots. Of promising coins in the market these days and the ones you listed are all good though I wouldn’t go with all of them… I will prefer Ethereum, Stellar, Monero, Zcash and Dash, that’s from your list. Then I will also add rather coins like NEO and Ripple. I don’t know why anyone would mention altcoins without mentioning Ripple (XRP) that’s really one if the best altcoins in the market today. I think cryptocurrency that is very promising is cryptocurrency which has very limited supply and has very high demand such as bitcoin, whereas from your list that still has promising potential is ethereum, while other altcoins I am not too sure.
With a limited amount of coins, everyone will have a prediction of the coin, the prediction will be the same when the coin has been mined, it will cause a scarcity in the coin and will make the price high due to deplation. I agree with you, a limited coin will have great potential, every investor will find the coin.

Always have a study on the currency you are about to invest. Let it be a new coin / token or a coin that already exists in the market. This should be a practice always. Completely analyze the coin's details in depth. Try investing in multiple coins. If any of those coins do fail to grow, the other coins will certainly bring a decent turn over.
