Revenge gambling is done so quickly with a lot of emotions that before one can say Cristano Ronaldo the punter has lost again.
They have zero plans, they do it quickly and they let their emotions cloud their judgement.
I am thinking that they are the ones who give casino more money.

Just as the topic implies, What really are your thoughts on revenge gambling?
Revenge gambling can be seen as a situation where one chases after their loss after making huge loss which to me ends up a disaster.
Even normal revenge in situations where one is hurt is discouraged, likewise revenge in gambling. No type of revenge is good. The best advice you get in situations where you feel hurt and want to take your revenge is that you should move on to avoid making more losses. Choosing to take a revenge is usually an example of a decisions made with emotions, and when you make decisions with emotions especially financial decision, a bad decision that will be regretted is usually made. A straight thinking person knows that it is not a wise thing to want to take revenge on a gambling site due to your loss, especially when it is your money at stake.

...
*Over expectations.
...

You call it "revenge gambling", I would say it's a tilt... I guess it's all the same, we just have different names for the same state of mind: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.61517656.

As FamososMuertos said, in the moments when we stop thinking rationally we make some crazy moves. I think all that comes from "Over expectations", like "now it's my turn to win", after suffering some major losses. Surprise or not, in most cases "tilting" will lead us to a total bust. I believe every "serious" gambler knows how that feels!

Eye for an eye will make the whole world blind! Revenge is the opposite of rational thinking, so it's not good. In most cases "revenging" will cause some other or more problems.

Revenge is not what they use to call it but chasing losses. OP has connected it also to Trading which he also has a thread about Revenge Trading lol I don't know who he thought was the enemy. But the house always has the favoring odds for the house to profit. Playing in another casino is already revenge if reducing the profit of the casino means revenge.

Chasing losses always are going to keep a gambler gambling which is also what the casino aims for. So while he wants revenge, casinos like him wanna pursue revenge.

It always happens to someone when he can't control his emotion. Everyone who's losing a lot will do everything that they can to recover and chase the losses.
This topic has been there for years and is still not going to change the fact that many lives have really been affected by this type of attitude towards gambling.
If you're in losses today and you think that it will just worsen your day, stop and take your time because the worst might not yet come if you ever continue.

~
One of the major reasons people chase after loss is
*using money they can't afford to loss to gamble
Yes, I agree with you. most people chase a loss when they play with an amount that they can't afford to lose. After which their first objective is to reach breakeven but they end up losing even more money by chasing the loss.

~ What are your thoughts on revenge gambling?
One of the lessons I have learned in trading and gambling is never chase your losses and accept what you have lost.
Every day won't be your winning day. So accept your loss. And come again tomorrow.

What are the measures to help combat revenge gambling?
Don't go for big a win, play with what you can afford to lose.

We should all think about gambling as a way to have fun and be entertained. But we also know that gambling can have an adverse effect on some of us. Many gamblers end up losing more and more to recover their losses which at some time has a major impact on personal life. To get rid of this situation we need to know how to manage gambling responsibly. The most important way to prevent the bad side effects of gambling is knowledge and education about the risks of gambling. This will help us to have self-control so that we do not have bad side effects.

Before you start gambling, think about how much gambling you can afford given your financial situation. Play as much for fun and for your entertainment. Don't try to get recover all the losses and also don't try to take the risks to get back what you lost earlier. Play for fun not to earn money.

Revenge gambling is one of the most belligerent things you could when you gamble. Responsible gambling warrants that you remain calm ans collected even in tense situations because that's when you make the most stupif mistakes. Anger and pressure clouds your judgement, and makes you commit mistakes you otherwise wouldn't have done if you are calmer. At the end of the day, if you think you are af the verge of committing revenge gambling, take a deep breath and stay out of gambling for a while. Try to reconnect and socialize with people who matter s a lot in your life.

Revenge gambling could work for some gamblers and never work for others so I don't advise people to take a walk on that path because the end can to so disappointing if care is not taken. If we want to win back out loses then there are ways we can do that rather than planing to revenge immediately with the assurance that we are going to win back our lost funds.

There are pro gamblers that might have been very good in revenging to make the lost funds and the is mostly dependents on the kind of game we are into or what we bet on. If it is a kind of bet where the house does not have so much power on gamblers then that is find but we just need to understand what kind of gambler we are and the kind of bets we are playing.
I think if a gambler has money he can afford to lose, there is no issues in chasing losses. In case he recovers his money, that will be great and in case he loses more money, he won't be bothered at all, because it was a calculated risk he took. The problem is when the gambler risks all his bankroll or money he is going need to pay for daily expenses to recover a loss in gambling. In this situation, if he loses, it's game over and there isn't anything else he can do to revert the situation on short run. I believe the gambler who persist in revenge gambling has already started playing with a wrong mindset, that is: to win at all costs.

~ What are your thoughts on revenge gambling?
It's really common in the casinos because most gamblers are emotional, and they don't like the losing feeling, that's why a lot of people chase their loss but not all of them lose all in this kind of chase.

~ what other reasons would make some indulge in revenge gambling?
When people lose multiple times the feeling of a win getting closer is the reason why they keep betting more and more.

~ What are the measures to help combat revenge gambling?
Play with the brain and not with the heart, if we lost all the money we can afford to lose, then is better to take our loss and walk away.

I did this before and I know for sure it doesn't end up well. Chasing losses is the very one thing we should avoid because it clouds our judgment by just wanting revenge.
When did revenge ever end up good? None. Not just in gambling but even in different circumstances.
How could we avoid it? Control. Self-discipline.
It's not easy to have that but if you can, then do so. If you think you can log out from a gambling site after the losses then do. Just simply rest for the day and just come back tomorrow when your mind is much clear to bet again.

I actually call this as the "cycle of gambling" where a person would try to recover his losses by gambling again, thereby increasing the risk of increasing his losses in the process. Unfortunately, a natural instinct of a person is to fight whenever they feel pain. For example, the instinct of a man after being punched is to punch back against his opponent. Such similar concept can be attributable to gambling where a person would definitely try to gamble again in hopes of recovering their losses.

In order to combat this so called "revenge gambling", a person must only bring a handful amount of cash. He/she must limit his/her expenditures in the process and avoid any future reloading of funds to prevent this kind of unfortunate scenario.

Revenge gambling is a harmful and dangerous behavior that can lead to significant financial and personal consequences. It is often driven by negative emotions such as anger, frustration, and desperation, and it can be very difficult for people to control their impulses when they are feeling these emotions.
There are a number of other reasons that people might engage in revenge gambling, including a lack of understanding of responsible gambling principles, a lack of awareness of the risks associated with gambling, and a lack of access to support and resources for managing problem gambling.

I agree with you about revenge gambling being a harmful and dangerous behavior for any person because if the first place you are playing without any focus and you cannot have full control over your reactions while playing games also whenever you lose in a ravage gambling you will have more greed and for the revenge while you are even under more pressure because the games you lost.

It's a dumb name, as there is no revenge taking place - the gambler has just lost control if their mind has gone to this place and the only person they are damaging further is themselves. There is nothing vengeful about it, as you are basically just donating even more money to the place that took all your other money before that. There are few ways to properly protect yourself from this scenario without learning discipline and self control, but these things are often beyond the abilities of a problem gambler anyway. If you do suffer from this problem, the best solution is only to remove yourself from gambling altogether, otherwise you just end up tilting and losing vast sums for nothing.

ego, temper, etc... a lot of people experience this.

do not let your frustration/emotion dictate what you want to do when gambling, only gamble what you can afford to lose, quit gambling entirely or if you can't, take a break from it. clearing your head after a bad session is a great way to collect your thought so you won't make drastic decisions that you'd regret at the end.

That's not good behavior let alone chasing defeat, I'd say it's stupid to just chase this because of emotion or being too greedy in a game.
This will obviously cause a lot of losses if in the context it is revenge in gambling games, while we continue to do it, it's the same as if we play with even bigger losses, this is indeed difficult to overcome, but we have to think gambling games are not for revenge after losing but ready to accept the consequences with the game being run, I don't even think that this will be done by many people unless they are wrapped in excessive emotion.
It seems that the feeling of wanting revenge to be able to return the lost money will always be embedded in the minds of almost all gambling enthusiasts.
High emotions will blind every gambler, especially when you experience defeat, so the only thing in your mind is to continue playing or betting to be able to return the lost money.
But without realizing it, defeat after defeat will be obtained, even until all the money in the casino's wallet is completely used up.

I witnessed this incident firsthand, at first my friend only tried his luck with 10$ and managed to get 100$, the next day he played again with a higher capital of around 500$ and hoped that luck was still on his side, but he suffered a loss, then after that, he kept making deposits to say he wanted to take the money that he lost yesterday at gambling, in the end, he lost, so he sold the goods he owned such as motorbikes and cars because of his revenge he would lose money from defeat and had ambitions to return them in large numbers. In the end, he pawned house certificates, loans at banks and others he did to keep making deposits because of his revenge. the latest news from my neighbour is that he has become a person who has lost his mind, when I talk to him he never connects with what I am talking about, gambling when he has a grudge will be very dangerous than taking drugs.

Revenge gambling is just an easier way to loss our funds. Maybe 1 in 100 will succeed in it. When we experience loss, it is time to think of what next? By the time it is good to have break. Because these kind of revenge gambling will turn to be a mental illness when there is no success. The life completely turns upside down, because these kind of people will spend beyond their ability.

Revenge gambling is a serious problem in my opinion and can lead to large financial losses if we can't adjust our behaviour. I know this from own experiences very well as I struggled for several years from revenge gambling. When I first started out with gambling 18 I always a fixed budget when visiting a casino. I never had a bank card with me and only used the cash in my pockets for gambling. To problem came when facing a loss streak, and after losing 70% of my bankroll for the night I got into "I don't care about anything" mentality. It was also my brain telling me that is now my turn to win. I ended up betting my remain budget on a single bet and would lose most of the time. So the last 1-2 hours at night I could only watch my friends gamble as I already blew through my budget. It took me several years to get rid of that behaviour. In my case it never let to me recover my losses and I would only lose more money.
