I had heard about btc back earlier this year when they were at $3 each. I tried to buy 30 from... Mt. Gox iirc... but couldn't because I don't hold any credit cards (I hate the concept). A month or so I heard about it hitting $80, was going to buy 3, but was lazy getting verified from Coinbase... When it hit 130 I got my act together and bought 1. A week ago I remembered I had an account on here and logged in.

People on youtube were going crazy spreading the word and giving out coins but at the time I waited to long to get a wallet and then there was a crash so I kind of missed the boat.

I never heard of it until a few weeks ago through friends. I didnt give it much thought until recently that it has been in the media I guess. So I decided to create a wallet and thanks to a friend I have my own in blockchain. I think if I buy some bitcoin I will keep some for investment maybe and use it to buy thing online. I think it is great that I could order online without too much hassle or personal information. Smiley

I heard about it about a year ago but didn't research anything about it until 2 months ago. I became fully convinced in the potential of bitcoin after watching a video on youtube where Andreas Antonopoulos explained it in more detail.

How did you find that video?

I just searched bitcoin and scrolled down. Here's the link if you're interested. It's a very good detailed explanation of how bitcoin works. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JP9-lAYngi4

Decided to finally start playing poker in BTC. Not sure why I waited so long. So much more easier in so many ways.

Winpoker accepts Bitcoin (this is not a referral link, just thought I would mention it).

There are plenty of others of course Smiley

1000 is still just the beginning. We may see 200 again, but unless Bitcoin fails, we will see 10.000+ eventually.

It's just a fact. Now I'm not saying it will never fail, but if it doesn't before it really goes mainstream, yes, 1000 is only the beginning.

4 month bump? :-)

Well, I became interested in Bitcoins after I saw many online businesses and users start to use Bitcoin. I decided to follow them and that's how I learned about Bitcoin.

What brought.......? Practical necessity. Roll Eyes Any serious person that spend time, effort, and butt aches sitting at a keyboard knows, if they have any historical perspective, this is only the beginning. As blog posts, commentary, and major news organizations (read WSJ) mainstreams what we already know we are in for a wild ride. Bitcoin may be the AOL of the internet but "cryptocurrency" is here to stay. Ask anyone that has a decent system if they're printing money with it and they'll laugh. When you tell them you are watch their face go slack. When they ask what you're talking about, tell them you'll "let them in" for 1btc. Watch the value begin to rise!!!

I reddit a lot, and after bitcoin got big in the news earlier in the year I decided to look into it for myself. I ended up buying some cheap cards off eBay and started mining. After someone posted a link to this forum on Reddit, I came and checked it out. Ive been lurking for a long time but finally made an account and here we are!
So far I have pre-ordered a jalepano, bought a contract at cloudhashing.com and bought some stocks on Haverlock Investments, and im planning to buy some hashpacks on hashrack.com Smiley

My friend recently bought $3K GPU miner , and he said this machine pluged into the wall will generate money on itself Huh
I started research and saw that he really made a mistake and that GPUs are in jurassic park now Wink
But I fell in love how BTC works as it tickles my mind on how electricity + mashine can generate money , the trick is low power-high MH/s  , and how BTC enables people to trade - no boundaries .
It may change the world as Internet did ! and this is actually happening now
