Apparently I use Firefox 30.0. The portable version.

I really dislike the way Firefox is releasing new x.0 versions like crazy nowadays. I remember back when Firefox would go through the version numbers every couple of months or years. Like the jump from Firefox 2 to 3 was huge, and so was the jump from 3 to 4.

Google owns chrome and "charity" mozilla.

Google doesn't own Mozilla as such, but it is true that the vast majority of Mozilla's revenue comes from Google, due to the search engine use. Still, Firefox is open source, which helps mitigate any influence Google might have over them.

This. Google's Chromium (which Chrome is based on) is technically open source, but Google's influence over Chromium pretty much makes this whole point moot.

I'm using chrome, everytime I use firefox I got not responding error.
Better update to latest version of firefox for best experience or scan your machine, something might be wrong with that because Firefox is smooth like butter on my system.

I used to prefer Chrome but moved back to Firefox recently after I tired of its insistance that I 'sign in' everytime & constantly wanted me to enable my location. To me google has become a real security concern & I feel much more comfortable with FF.
