I respect all your views. However, many ideas emerged within the gaming industry. None of them can achieve serious success.
Indeed, quite a lot of project emerged around the gaming industry, I don't agree they didn't achieve succes though. Projects such as Enjincoin has made serious steps in enabling a bigger public to use their product and if i'm not wrong, they even have some sort of cooperation going on with Samsung.
The problem with gaming projects however, in my humble opinion, is that they are all revolving around companies and already existing platforms. I think that, in the future, we will see a shift of 'power' to the gamingcommunity itself. While different platforms/projects use different methods to make an economy around their website, it is always controlled by themselves and has limits of how to use it. They are making a lot of money on that, almost similar to something like Tether, but without the backup of anything but their own website.
The gaming/streaming industry is still relatively young and controlled by 3 main streamingplatforms; Twitch, Youtube, Facebook. While it's growing rapidly and maturing, we see a move for independence from the bigger streamers and the smaller ones are limited with their growth because the platforms and programs around it take a big fee. Coming back to the point, lol; To achieve serious success, you need the gamingcommunity behind you instead of big companies, because they will use it to gain profits and not benefit the entire community, which is a core purpose of cryptocurrencies. The Overpowered project is made from this thought, with instant TX, possibility to be part of the network with a Masternode, neglectible fees, an easy UI which is getting improved more, mobile wallets for usability on the way, trade, stake, buy giftcards, set up your own store, etc, etc.
While most projects think about how to integrate the technology in games, almost none have thought about making something from which the entire community can profit. Technology is nice, but we need to learn from history, where technology is still being used to make money off the big public instead of making it better, easier and cheaper for all!
