Who wants to bet that some (psychopath) of the bitcoin community will come out and murder him by the end of the year?

Oh, we don't have any psychopaths here. That requires real balls. We mostly have kleptomaniacs, antisocial personality disorder and the odd normal person that reads threads and posts wtf repeatedly because their in shock at the overt displays of stupidity.

WTF!  Grin

its not the victims fault, listen to lets tsalk bitcoin episode 85, Andreys confident mtgox wont default.

Wrong. It's mostly the victim's fault. If you do not have sole control of you private keys then you do not own any Bitcoins. We all take a risk when we send any cryptocurrency to an exchange, but that's the nature of groundbreaking tech, of new and innovative ideas; it's still young and it still has flaws (even though I can argue that flaw actually resides in the human aspect in these cases).

Ultimately, we have no one but ourselves to blame if & when we lose any cryptocurrency.

I disagree, although researching who we trust with our money is important, when someone violates that trust, they are responsible, not the victim. "He shouldn't have left the door unlocked if he didn't want it stolen!" is a criminal mindset used to justify abhorrent behaviour.

I don't know why so many people think Mark Karpeles would try to hide any of his assets. Why I heard he bought gox.com a few days ago. So we can look at the WHOIS records and it will clearly show that Mark is not trying to hide any assets much less any of his recently purchased assets.

Checking the public WHOIS records at Godaddy.com clearly confirms this as the following result will show...

Oh wait! He registered it under privacy. Godaddy is helping him hide his assets through their Domains By Proxy, LLC service. Yet another tool in the scammer's toolbax.

So you have to sue Godaddy to find out who they are hiding with their Domains By Proxy service.

Domain Name: GOX.COM
Registrar URL: http://www.godaddy.com
Registrant Name: Registration Private
Registrant Organization: Domains By Proxy, LLC
Name Server: NS-1009.AWSDNS-62.NET

DNSSEC: unsigned

gox was "the average BTC price."

What are you talking about? The past several months they have been deviating from all liquid exchanges by 10-20%. Their price was deviant, not average.

they never dropped below #2 most liquid exchange.

from pastebin today, probably a few days old:

"[19:26] this is hurting us a lot however, not mentionning the names of our staff posted on reddit, families/etc being stalked, etc"

I'm quite convinced that people here are not considering this, but any public fantasising, however beneficial for your own state of mind, can be contributing to someone else going over the top.

Suggesting anything else than peaceful protests or jokes about France in general, is not proper conduct in any sense.

It might be worth mentioning that there is no evidence of anything but incompetence at Gox.

Unfortunately, it seems as those who were dimwitted enough to have money/BTC in MtGOX will believe in absolutely anything else other than this. To them it's unfathomable that they fucked up.
I fear your right. These are the same people who, in an earlier time, might have sacrificed a goat to appease the weather gods who are causing all this drought.

stop fooling us, you don't even believe what come out of your mouth, no evidence? what evidence do you want? a video of Mark Karpeles sending bitcoins to bitstamp and selling them into an offshore account in name of CEO Mark Karpeles?
How about any evidence? I'm not saying there is no criminal activity going on at gox. I'm saying you and I don't know. What would you say at his trial? "your honor, the accused is guilty based on my hunch." You will need facts in court, except in the court of bitcointalk. Here you can say anything is a fact and anyone who disagrees must be in on the grand conspiracy.

really? you are going to blame yourself for Mark Karpeles's crime? he must be innocent for you

Blame myself? Why would I blame myself? I didn't have a single satoshi or any fiat in MtGOX. I didn't lose anything because I have 100% full control of my private keys. I wasn't dimwitted enough to relinquish the one and only thing I control in the Bitcoin protocol.

The question now stands; were you dimwitted enough?

stop fooling us, you don't even believe what come out of your mouth, no evidence? what evidence do you want? a video of Mark Karpeles sending bitcoins to bitstamp and selling them into an offshore account in name of CEO Mark Karpeles?

Yes, evidence. You know; that thing you need to be proven guilty. Didn't you know people are innocent until proven guilty by evidence? I'm mean seriously dude, WTF is wrong with you people?

I am guessing some Russians are looking forward to give him a big kiss in the mouth.

Rumor has it from my Fed friends is that Mark has protection from a group of people. I wont go into it any further

just one more question, are we actually "paying for" his protection fee?

There is some nasty shit around the webs of what some would like to do to him and his family, together with personal information. Protection is wise, he won't run anywhere in that case and will be very cooperative with investigators.

could you pm me where can i see this nasty shit? i am very interested in it

No clue. I know Im not. My Bitcoins stay in my control and I dont use gox. I imagine someone from a government agency is actually pulling strings. Watch the 200,000 BTC wallet gox still controls for anything interesting.

Violation of contract constitutes more than simple incompetence.
