Talking about falling crypto rates, I find this to be quite normal at the moment when the exchange rate is low. The fact that the cryptocurrency market is receiving too much negative news leads to the FUD, which confuses investors and leads to panic sell. This dramatically affects the exchange rate of cryptos.

one of the causes is the failing of projects. the project seems useless in the end that the coins were undervalued.While I personally do not believe we will see this happen in 2018, I would react instantly by moving my crypto holdings into "safer" asset classes if I noticed one of the scenarios becoming more likely.
The fall in the rates of cryptos has some causes, but it is mainly from my point of view that investors' sentiment is severely affected after receiving negative news. I do not know the main reason I just think why crypto prices go down is because people's interest in crypto is currently down especially when there are many people who are trapped in scam projects that cause loss of confidence in the crypto and its impact from crypto transactions to be few and automatic prices slowly become low
trading volume is one factor. When there is little or low trading volume, the price of coins tends to drop. Interest is also a factor.
Every coin price stay always high it's not possible. But major problem of crypto down is project situation, country legality and low investors

Seeing people panics about the situation of the cryptocurrency really saddened me because it makes crytptocurrency market even worse because it will lead to selling their coins in the market which cause to fall down instantly. Almost everything. I can sneeze and prices may fall down. However that is a not a specifically bad thing because same happens when going up. People forget that the prices stay low for MONTHS before it goes back up. I can tell you that prices of bitcoin slowly raised during last summer but it was always close.
On December it went up like a skyrocket. It happened like that before as well. It just stops at the same prices for a loooooong time and when times comes it goes up in a spike a huge spike and then it goes back down to a sensible price but better than the initial price and then stays there again and so forth for a long time it has been like this.

Altcoins are still connected to bitcoin price, once btc goes down, altcoins will be affected and have a decline also. It is sad that altcoins won't stand independently and be dependent on BTC trend. Another reason also is that, due to market manipulation created by some big whales and seemingly prices aren't able to climb up high.
