Hey guys. I understand that primedice has a huge reputation and popularity on this forum, but I really don't know why. Being from Australia, primedice doesn't allow us with a full account. We get a "free" account. We can't deposit, and we can only bet with tips. Why is this?

Are there any other countries that have this restriction?
Why is this restriction in place?
What's so special about primedice?

Primedice no Longer Accepting US & Australian Customers
Friends,

Effective immediately Primedice will no longer accept deposits from visitors located within certain jurisdictions including the US. While Primedice is neither operated nor based in the USA, we’ve chosen to take proactive measures to mitigate long term risk for our users and service. The legal landscape is quickly shifting and we are choosing to completely block deposits from users located in what we’ve deemed as higher risk jurisdictions.

Primedice does not make use of US currency nor banking, and this block is not recognition that bitcoin gambling is illegal. This decision has been solely based off of discussions between Primedice and our legal counsel.

I know this news will disappoint many of you, however we’re strong believers in Bitcoin and are playing defensively to secure our long term position at the top of this rapidly growing industry.  We’re confident that every major online casino will accept Bitcoin within the next five years and we’re determined to compete directly with them by continuing to create new disruptive experiences. We’ve been lucky enough to see the transformative power of Bitcoin with regards to gambling from a first hand perspective and are confident this is the right decision moving forward.

Kind regards,
Primedice team

I beleive the answer to this lies in the fact that online gambling and bitcoin are illegal in some countries and thus PD blocks these countries in order to comply with this. However with a small amount of know how one can easily use a proxy or use the tor browser in order to access these sites and seem that you are coming from a different country. Very neat technology. All sorts of ways around these blocks. Getting a VPS is also another option to access these sites if blocked.

Pretty much this. The main countries that get blocked are the ones that are known to take action against such casinos. If it is illegal in your country and it is not yet banned then it means that country isnt really pushing towards it or OD has received no claims/orders to comply with the countries laws. Unless the site is told to do so they usually keep it open Smiley

It should be banned in Belgium, all online casino's have to have a physical presence in Belgium and a license to be available to Belgian customers.
The ones that do not comply get DNS blocked, I use Google DNS, so can't check myself.

it is not like PrimeDice want that situation and won't allow you play because they think your country is inferior. It is because internal antigambling law of some countries.
PrimeDice is already is too big to get under radar of authorities so they need to comply to the law, therefore cease their activity in some countries, but you can still play through proxy if you want to.

I honestly don't know the point of this , they are trying to make this biz legal but it's not totally legal
for example gambling in my country is illegal but primedice still accept my country , so probably they just don't want to deal with big countries like US where governments may sue them
but in general they still offer their services for some countries where gambling is illegal

I am sure about USA and Australia but it was said that stunna had to block some more countries to avoid any legal issues.
anyways, you should ask such questions in their gambling thread cause the staff would be there to answer it more accurately than users.

Anyway we can't make money from these dice sites so I really not worries so much.
oh!! what is the difference between PD and other dice sites? all are dice and offer the same provably fair service.

In Singapore this site is banned so from Singapore people can't even open this site. It looks like because of the popularity of this site some countries which don't allow online gambling will restrict accessing this site. Anyway we can't make money from these dice sites so I really not worries so much.
