Not much of reason  but I guess whales just played the market,  and most had been shaked due to the dip of Bitcoin.  Another thing is the issue about the high transaxtion fee.  It was worst than before.  Since this is my first time sending Bitcoin transaction with 0.002 BTC transaction fee.  Funny isn't it?
Its mostly because of the transaction fees that been so high recently, People are very fed up with that. In my honest opinion, that's the reason for the current dip.

Few whales dropped huge sums of money thus causing panic sales from masses, then they re-bought it at 11000.
Simple transfer of money from poor to the rich since they were initially late into crypto.  Sad

I don't have much to why the price of bitcoin went down in this recent days, but from my personal observation of the situation it seems it is due to brake down in blockchains and congestion in the bitcoin network.

The only reason of why this dip happened was just because of coward people, all those who started to sell and started to create panic everywhere, in here, in reddit, in the social media, everywhere.
They started selling and they caused other people sell too.

I think there is no reasonable explanation for this other than whales cashing out and playing the market. Which worried me a lot this time around, since the decentralization of bitcoin, of which we are very proud, doesn't mean much if whales can trigger a chain reaction of this magnitude.

Festivals, and the week hand selling is the main cause. People got panicked and sell it away was little weird though.

I think the festivals are the main reason behind this dip. It's not like I've heard things but I honestly believe that Christmas and New Years are the causes for this dip to happen. I don't believe people are getting attracted more buy altcoins than bitcoins and so they are dumping and selling what they have left. No, that can't be true. I think this is the year of time when people need cash on their hand, not online money. However, I just shared my opinion. Thank you

Everyone is trying to find reasons for why the dip happened, what have you heard?
I have heard different things; 1. people sell out to take profits so that they can have a nice Christmas, 2. smart money coming in is playing with the price, 3. an exchange in asia broke down and caused fear.
I am !!NOT!! saying that either of these three is the reason, I am just trying to get other perspectives for what people have heard cause (could have caused) the dip..

Week-hands selling is the main reason, Few of the investors sold it because of converting into altcoins because altcoins were growing. Apart from that week hands sold it at low. They will regret it soon.

I use to have this big red V8 sports car and all my friends wanted one but then
my girlfriend dropped me and the price of gas went up and the value of my pride
and joy shot down.

Do you think it was because my girlfriend dumped me or because the gas
price went up on my V8 12 MPG ram-rod

There are more reasons Ive heard with this sudden down price of bitcoin. Most users swing into other altcoins or bitcoin cash to take profit. And most said taking profit for this Upcoming Christmas but in these reasons to enlighten most not to panic that btc price to swing to up again.

More sellers than buyers, literally.

Why are so many people selling? Some of them are taking profits, others are following the fall caused by people taking profits. AND...this probably started with Bitcoin Cash run up. People see that run so the get out of Bitcoin and into Bitcoin Cash, this ends up having a ripple effect on the entire global market.
