The only thing I think you should know is be careful with the choices you take on the cryptocurrency space. If you have money to invest into cryptocurrency as a newbie the market is bearish and loosing money now is at high risk. I'd advise you to think of a business to start under cryptocurrency niche. It could be a site or products and services. These are long term investment with lesser risks compared to the risk involved in buying and holding crypto especially for a person who is not used to the market fluctuations. Think and research about businesses available on the cryptocurrency niche and note those which you can handle and start with them. It takes time but, you could become another CZ In the next 3-5 years.

Since you already have the character of saving, that means holdling bitcoin for a long won't be difficult for you to do. Your friend knows how beneficial it is to have your assets stored in bitcoin that's why he introduced you to bitcoin and the forum, at least to have the necessary knowledge about crypto investment.

Have in mind that crypto is not a get-rich scheme. Don't invest in what you can't afford to lose. The Crypto market can go soar within a twinkle of eye

As many other comments said you have to read the rules of bitcointalk so you won't get banned temporarily or permanently.

But apart from this, I am glad to say that here you have thousands of other friends from all around the world so this can be a great opportunity to learn what to do and not to. I won't really advice you to go deep into the technical knowledge of bitcoin now but getting into the basics may get you to believe stronger and more convincing like what is proof of work, Blockchain technology, elimination of third parties while transacting, etc.

Keep learning, spend time of reading the threads which you like and make comment if you has something to say and ask any queries if you have any like this thread but don't forget to use the search button. Wink

Own a hardware wallet. That's my very first suggestion for anyone thinking to save cryptocurrency for the future. It's very much necessary to ensure the maximum protection of your investment and that's why you need this so that you don't get your BTC lost someday. You can try Ledger Nano, Trezor, etc but make sure you always buy this from the official store of their own. Don't buy from any third party.
Won't that advice be like an overkill for someone who's still struggling with their finances? I think it is. Talking about getting a hardware wallet so one doesn't lose one's Bitcoin, I would say even at that one can still lose one's Bitcoin stored in it. The security of our Bitcoin depends largely on us than on an equipment. I don't think it will be an issue using an Electrum wallet as a beginner.

Crypto is unlikely to do well as a hedge against inflation immediately if you live in a country with fairly low levels. If you're in a country with high levels, investing in stablecoins like usdc, dai or usdt can provide good stability against the dollar but might come with some risks.

I wouldn't recommend investing in bitcoin with more than you could afford to lose or going straight into a discipline like trading because you might get discouraged and just leave if the value of your investment seems to fall.

Bitcoin and other cryptos are a good method for accepting payments for goods or services if you have hobbies that are marketable or can work to maintain a hedge against inflation.

If the reason for joining the forum is purely economic reasons, it is better to wait, learn for several months, and then invest in Bitcoin, as the price may remain at these levels for the next 6 months, and therefore learning is your best weapon.

With regard to investment, after learning the economic aspects, then must learn the basics of security, and if you intend to buy in large quantities, it is better to buy a hardware wallet.

The details are many and cannot be listed, so start and then you can ask a question that you do not find an answer to.

I have been experiencing some financial difficulties due to the inflation I explained my situation to my friend about plans on how to secure my Investments since I'm already used to the character of saving but have little knowledge of bitcoin and investment in it and my friend introduced me to bitcoins and this forum I'm really glad to be here please what must I know?

If you plan to invest in bitcoin, I advise you to first carefully analyze all available information and think carefully before making any investment decision.
The crypto market has its own rules, it's very volatile and high risk, so if you don't know what you're doing, you can easily lose money.
I advise you to only invest money that you can lose, to make an investment plan in accordance with your financial capabilities and to have a clear exit strategy.
Good luck with your investment!

Welcome to the forum mate.

@passwordnow has already provided you with links that contains rules and regulations governing the forum and also how to go about creating a wallet

First thing before purchasing any coin is to create your own wallets. The forum actually advices you to create this wallets by yourself because one's there is a third part involved then he might have access to your funds. Exchanges are not advice to store your funds because of there centralization. Hardware wallets are adviced.

Since you said you love saving then I can only suggest bitcoin to you although it also has its bull and bearish periods but its way more secure in terms of the risk than other altcoins. Concerning informations on the forum please scrutiny do your research. Do not trade solemnly based on the advices giving here.

And about bitcoin as an investment, learn to know about the basics of it like about wallets: [General] Bitcoin Wallets - Which, what, why?

As you're still a newbie in the forum, avoid entertaining those unsolicited messages from unknown people that might lead you to links of phishing websites and scamming.
