Playing against the computer, no, I don't call it as skilled based game too as there's an edge and that will make us lose in the long run. One thing to say about this kind of Game for me personally, "skill game is fun, but not for betting".
You know, I really like playing this skill game, however, I am not good at playing whenever I try hard. It will win nothing. I think that I have no ability for it. I'm lack to play that game. Grin

With 70% voting for skill based games I would assume many people here bitcointalk are the competitive type. Luck based games are fun from time to time just not good to be done daily. Because your winnings mostly depend on luck and not your personal skills. Then you have games which count into luck and skill based games, like Blackjack or Dice. Sure they involve a lot of luck to win, but you also need a good strategy to succeed.

It is quite clear that everybody prefers games of skill, however, few online casinos want to invest the time, money, and effort needed to produce a game of skill that works for the casino and for the player.

I think there could easily be a game like connect 4 between players, where the caisno just takes 2% from each winning bet as the house edge.

Ideally, we want to see more complicated games of skill though, something like a strategy game or tower defense games—maybe throw in a randomness element so it's not purely skill.

For sure, there is no way we can cheat with dice or slots, but the house is possible. Most of the dice games or slots games nowadays especially in some cryptocurrency gambling websites, uses cryptographic provably fair algorithm which we can know here if for every roll or spin we do are legit, since there are some seeds or roll numbers included here to do the algorithm.
But I saw some issues about not fair on the house part for using the provably fair algorithm, so I assume that is a form of cheating.

Have voted for the skill based game and it is more fun to play as you are more vigilant since you need to very active and be on toes in order to play such games and continuously keep thinking and play the game. At times when you play luck-based games it is more like you just keep pressing the button as there is nothing any skills required just it is purely based on luck and at times luck may not be with you.
