I just let it sit idle, honestly. I can't seem to find a good investment wherein I would get a guaranteed passive income out of my bitcoins. Too many scam sites and platforms appearing out of nowhere. Cloud mining can't be that profitable, so is trading because I lack the time to execute trades.

Well there is, but yes indeed about 75-80% of the coins should stay idle.

It's too bad since it would be better for the economy if those coins were used, however until we can establish a trusted bitcoin bank (without ponzi scheme), we cannot deposit our coins anywhere safe.

Not even exchanges are safe after Gox and Craptsy.

If there would be a service for deposit BTC, that would be as safe as bank loans and give you some micro-earnings, it would be great Smiley

I don't do anything with my idle coins.
I prefer to have those coins on a cold wallet.
If I'm not going to use them I might as well keep them safe.

I have some idle coins lying around but I am hesitant to invest them because I am scared I will lose them. Can anyone recommend a 100% sure investment website with any % of profit?

I think there is no 100% sure investment opportunity. The mining is a good business if your electricity price is lower than $0.05 /kWh.

As long as no one comes with a better idea than holding, im going to keep holding and while I hold im going to keep stacking even more BTC, as much as I can, I will eat only cheap ramen and live under a bridge if that means I can buy even more BTC monthly. In 10 years it will be worth the extra effort.

Always i transfer them back to my wallet too.
Even if it is worth only .1 BTC. Safety first even when you deal with good exchanges.

They have wallet issues too.

The cryptsy has wallet issues at the moment. It stopped trading and withdraw of the coins. It is in trouble.

now I just keep idle coin in my wallet , and I will sell at a time when appropriate .

Yes i prefer to store them offline and not on some exchange. They can't be trusted.
Then every week i download (update) the blockchain so when I need i can transfer them quickly.

I'll keep my idle coin safely in my wallet and wait , maybe one day the price will rise and i could sell it for some profit.

Or use it if I am in a dire need of an item.

I have some coins idling around in my wallet but I cannot bear to put it in hyip or risk it. But it is a waste to let it idle around. Yes. I have coins in some "lower risk" hyips to generate some interest which I'm prepared to write off. I also have some coins converted to hashing power in hashnest and BW.com but it has to be monitored else you will suffer a loss instead.  Grin

Unlike fiat currencies, I cannot park these coins into banks backed by governmental institutions. I put my fiat currencies in banks or blue chips but I cannot do it with cryptos.

So, what do you do with your idle coins? Let it sit around?
i have some idle coins,i bought them when I'm sure the price is very low, and I'm sure later the price will go up, but sometimes I choose the wrong coin, even the coin was not up the price, even being a scam.

Most of them are sitting on my cold wallet! Some are used to invest in Bitcoin banks, like haobtc, bitbank which are paying small amount of interest!

I usually go around the lending section and see if I can give some trusted loan with mini profits on the loan.If I'm bored I gamble with a limit or usually but buy around the bitcoin accepting shopping websites . Smiley

Yeah that's good and it is very difficult to keep our bitcoins idle, I mean it is simply impossible that you have bitcoins in your wallet and you are not using it, I don't have any idle btc with him as I actively spend my bitcoins, either for converting to fiat or on gambling sites, and keep on multiplying my bitcoins.

just holding it for a while doesn't seem like a very bad idea, there is a payment processor (accepting BTC as currency) and pays a monthly "Low" interest but nothing actually completely legit or established does that yet.

So far I invested all my Bitcoin in CUBE and it seems to be working. When I have Bitcoins I tend to gamble them but investing in DigiCube has been a wise decision and I no longer have the urge to gamble and also earning 5% on my investment daily. Love watching the CUBE arriving in my wallet.

I will continue to hold to see higher prices. but I rarely make my coins idle in the wallet, the better I used to invest in mining.

Either invest or use it to convert it to fiat, don't keep it idle as it won't serve the purpose of holding bitcoins, we are here to earn money and we should earn it whenever possible either by selling a part of it and making more or investing it so that we can earn good money in future.

so therefore I prefer mining than just hold on wallet and wait for the price rise. with mining we can get some satoshi every day and when the bitcoin prices rise, I could immediately sell GHS Smiley
