With e-sports growing each day, like old ones Dota, Lol, CS and the new ones like Fortnite, PUBG etc, and competitions become more professional and more money are into, do you think soon we will be gambling with e-sports together with traditional ones?

I think it's only a matter of time, soon we will be betting on e-sports

We have been gambling with eSports already. Gone are the days when online games and other computer games are set aside and not given enough attention because they are mere computer games, labelled as childish and not really sports. My thought used to be the same. How can a game played while sitting down considered sports? And then the mainstream world considers it electronic sports, hence eSports.

You can actually bet on these eSports games through Sportsbet. I am following the odds of Dota 2 TI9 tournament through that site.

It could happen soon, especially if the business owner could see a big chance to make thousand or billion dollars from the e-sports. I think the games now transformed from the traditional games into an online game and they are trying to introduce excitement to play online gambling and games. I think once one or two games become popular among the people, it doesn't need to wait for a long time to see the other offline games to reach online games. And when it's become more popular, there will be money involve inside the games.

E-sports, especially Dota was very popular as far as I remember, now Fortnite and PUBG has serious growth (well they are new too). These games are so popular, I think they'll be added among traditional matches because nowdays bets on tv shows have increased, for example bet on who will own Oscar, bets on serials (GOT) and etc. E-sports really have huge increase in overall, a lot of people plays them so there is huge chance they won't be only offered only on some websites.

But on the games we can able to win by using our skills so it cannot become like a traditional gambling where the result of the bets is not in our hands.

I don't see lot of money for the players even if they won but one lottery could change their entire life.

Truly correct betting in e-sport is not in the player hand to getbwin the bet, skills and more analization are very important in this field. But it more fun and exciting games bet via online special basketball related games.

E-sports is already in the world of gambling for many years.

You can bet on that now. I've already participated there few times although it's via fiat deposit.

Not much active though in crypto gambling but there are few crypto gambling sites already that accepts e-sports betting.

E-sports industry is considered to be the next-billion dollar industry, so I would say, blockchain projects exploring e-sports will find a good number of audience if properly marketed.

And if you are an ardent supporter of e-sports, the chance of winning is higher than in online casinos.
And if you are lucky like this teen, you will be thinking of putting up a business at a very young age.

Leading Crypto Sports Betting & Casino Platform
e-sports is not that common as that of slots, casinos and sports betting. This is being played by small number of users compared to the traditional ones. Maybe now there might some added interest from people towards these kind of e-sports based gambling. Just think of the gambling websites for e-sports, if this is being preferred we could've got large number of gambling sites for the same. When we look for e-sports with cryptocurrency acceptance it is very hard to get one.

Steam is already accepting BTC also, this is not new
Steam stopped accepting bitcoin almost 2 years ago, back in December 2017. They stated "high fees and volatility" as the reason. You can read their press release here: https://steamcommunity.com/games/593110/announcements/detail/1464096684955433613. As of yet, they have made no moves to consider re-implementing it.

I see! I'm not updated  Cheesy
I'm using our local wallet which is coins.ph to buy SWC.

I hope they consider it on their platform again because I found it more useful than having multiple transactions buying SWC. If I will buy to the other platforms, it will be more expensive than buying direct to steam using BTC. Thanks for the information!

I confess I don't know any of them, and I'll be more confortable if a well know website
Sportsbet.io is widely advertised around this forum in ad slots and signatures, and has a pretty good reputation as a solid bitcoin sportsbook. They already have active markets for Dota 2, League of Legends, and Counter Strike. You can have a look at their forum thread here: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/sportsbetio-proud-partner-of-southampton-fc-1458034.

Betting on eSports are already existed. Actually there's a lot of platform that accepts BTC to do betting on eSports like LoL, CSGO, DOTA2 and many more.

Steam is already accepting BTC also, this is not new,  eSports gaming already accepted and adopted cryptocurrency. Try herosphere, that's a platform that I've been using last year.

People were laughing at e-sports not long ago, now we have million dollar championships. It wont take long for e-sports to become as big as regular sports like football. The new generations aren't that interested in regular sports and eventually e-sports will surpass regular sports. Unfortunately there aren't that many e-sports championships out there.

Many sportsbook including bitcoin sportsbook already have esports added on their list but only a few have included new games like Pubg and Fortnite but they mostly have the old games since they're popular and usually have the most tournaments every year.

I think that will happen ... the concept is to bet which team will be the champion.

for example ... 1 round PUBG match is filled by 25 teams (1 team contains 4 players) then we place a bet on which of the 25 teams will be the winner, Then the better will be given prizes based on rank 1 to 5 or more

This is what I thought would happen if e-sports were met with gambling  Grin
There's a couple of websites that offers self betting but it's not very popular because its difficult to find another player that have the same skill rank and who is willing to bet.

E-sport has already been here before since the start of the release of the multiplayer online games. When Valve starts to release the online first-person shooting games the "Counter-Strike Online" and the most famous MOBA games in Warcraft 3 The Frozen Throne and the rest of these new online games then follows.

I remember the day that we used to play Dota 1 while betting who will gonna win and this is the most famous gambling games before. That i remember when i was watching a match the bet would accumulate from $100 - $400. It is not a tournament yet but gamblers are betting to their favorite team with that huge amount.

It already happen where esports and gambling met together as mentioned by lakai. Esports tournament do have millions of money as the reward to the winners of the game tournament. A game that I have played that has millions of money to reward tournament winners is Dota 2 because of every money that they can get from percentage of the money used to buy games promo and from sponsors.

I ve placed bets back in my LoL-days about 5-6 years ago, so gambling and e-sports have already met Wink
E-sports is nowadays very common in traditional media, eg. big newspapers wrote about the Fortnite championchip last week. Its just a matter of time when well known betting sites like bet365 add e-sports to their portfolio, too.
