North Korea just launched its Ballistic Missile. Should the world be alarmed?

War is not what the world wants, but in this day and age the world seems to want it now. Provocators are spreading everywhere and they are provoking enormously. The world is not just to be alarmed, but the world has started to be alarmed. Not just for what is done by north korea, but the terrors already happened already indicate there will be war.

Who is the provocateur here? The Americans provoked Kim by conducting war games so close to the North Korean maritime zone, even when Japan and South Korea were reluctant to poke the DPRK. If the Americans withdraw their troops from South Korea and Japan, then the situation will normalize and the North and the South.

It seems to me that the danger from North Korea and its capabilities are overblown. I think Trump just wants as PR to win over a country that has nuclear weapons. He knows that North Korea can strike at America. Therefore, he hoped that victory will be easy.
Ну что тут плохого Северная Корея очень хочет быть самостоятельной и не воспринимает абсолютно никаких указаний от третьей стороны как и что ей делать.

I think North Korea is a closed country for the outside world and a nuclear-armed country, and the country is also headed by a dictator

It is the most isolated country in the world. No one knows what is going on in the rural areas of North Korea, although those living in the urban centers such as Rason and Pyongyang has some exposure to the outside world (in the form of pirated DVDs and books). And there are a lot of rumors about the slave labor camps, where hundreds of thousands of people are held in extremely barbaric conditions.

Private defense corporations such as Raytheon and Boeing stands to gain enormously from any new war effort. These companies (along with private security contractors such as Blackwater) profited a lot from the American military interventions in Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan, Libya.etc.

Definitely the launch of ballistic missile is concerning, but from a military point of view, it's ridiculous that North Korea threatened someone who has so many orders of magnitude greater power than them. It's not a traditional military type deterrence scenario. They would never be able to deter the US — their technology is decades behind US, probably many decades.

I suppose they think this is about regime survival, that they have to demonstrate these capabilities in order to survive. That’s the only way I can understand their motivations for putting so much time and money and energy into missiles.

I believe that North Korea has the right to defend its borders. The Americans must first pull back their forces from the Sea of Japan. The Yanks are causing a lot of provocations in that region.
well, the problem is north korea sometimes tested their missile near japan ocean territorial. no wonder why japan need a strong alliance force to protect their country.

Japan is not a sovereign nation. Before the WW2, they used to be one of the most powerful nations in the world. But after the war, Japan was placed under the American military occupation. Even now, the occupation continues. There are American military bases all over Japan.

Yes, because anytime North Korea might declare a 3rd world war. They got all the heavy nuclear bombs, missiles, guns and a well trained troops to conquer the world.

What are your basis for this that they will declare third world war?  Thus possessing a gun anyone who possessed it are policemen?  Maybe they have those equipment merely to protect their country incase there woupd be invasion.  Like what strong country always do to broaden their territory and for them to become much more stronger.  They might have well trained troops but how well they were trained?

North Korea is a slave nation basically. They have a caste system and if you are on bottom you are a slave.

Poor people at bototm beg for food and are worked as slaves.

Military are like gods, police are like gods. Politicians are like gods. They all get to do whatever they want and have money.

Even though China is a main trade partner with North Korea, they would sit on their hands if we bomb the snot out of N. Korea. They (China) do more business with us and have no personal attachments to crazy boy. Therefore, take out the weaponry at the DMZ to keep the south safe and, simultaneously, carpet bomb the capital. With our arsenal, it would take 1 day.....tops.

Then, if we cannot de-program the populace who will think that we just killed God, keep them as laborers.

N. Korea is way too unbalanced to be left unchecked. They need to go.

Without war, they cannot be stopped. Sanctions are imposed against them, America will have no action because there are always people ready to deliver to bypass the sanctions any goods. Trump is not the man who can solve any problem. He's a loser, a sellout to the Kremlin.

All their military activities are very alarming and I think their primary objective is to destroy anyone who interferes them. North Korea will become a superpower one day if their leaders obsession in creating nuclear weapons will continue, somebody must stop it before its too late.

If that is the case, then stop interfering in North Korea. Plain and simple. They are not going to attack anyone unless someone attacks them first. Also, the Americans need to realise that North Korea is not a weak nation like Libya or Syria.

In the history, North Korea already attacked South Korea, back in 1950.
Also, their nuclear bombs are a major threat to neighboring countries, America and the rest of the world.
What is worst is that all decisions are made only by one man, a young, unbalanced and very dangerous madman.
So, we have to stop them somehow, hopefully without war.
