I keep beating myself for missing out on Doge back then when it was hyped by Elon. Seeing my colleague who are noobs make so much money from Doge made me feel like a clown. It honestly felt like a joke but I stood on my crypto experience and refused to buy the coin again. Yes! I held Doge back in 2017 when I just started my journey into crypto. Used it for some swing trades then held some before I eventually sold all during the 2018/19 bear market. Right now, if I see any trending coin with lots of hype that people are buying, I will ride on it as well be it meme, gamefi, defi, privacy coins or NFTs. Not making the same mistake again!

Privacy coins won't become the next big trend until more people start to use peer-to-peer exchanges. Many centralized exchanges have delisted Monero because they want to be compliant with anti-money laundering regulation. As a result, its price and adoption have remained stagnant for a while. When something like Tornado Cash became popular, government sanctions greatly diminished its usage. Now we have wallets and mining pools that censor activity which is not OFAC compliant. The next trend in crypto is likely to be something which regulators have a positive or neutral view of.

additionally it seems like some banks are interested in launching their own coins we shall see how banks will adopt cryptocurrency especially with the pending etf approval
I just wounder why banks are becoming much interested this days on crypto currencies. Perhaps they are gradually seeing crypto currency feature or brighter side of it. They are even going to the extent of even wanting to own there own coin which has always been there desire. But nevertheless if they can succeed from there own coin, they will gradually adopt to the general crypto currency. Because all they need is just t OK have a total control of their own coin.

They finally see that a lot of many are circling in crypto and they want some. Also, I think they want to get at least some control of it.

Maybe GameFi? I know they’ve been there the whole time but for some reason I think they could bring about the next hype. And now we can see how much these AI have been integrated around almost everything, what if they brought it to GameFi? Or what if the next hype will be the direct merging of AI and Crypto? Just speculation but it’s normally about new emergence in technology.

I'm hearing for the first time that some banks are interested in launching their own coins, this is contrary to their norms because I know that banks are anti cryptocurrency. I think that it'll really be a hype if we're to see this happen, imagine a bank that traditionally deals in fiat transactions to now have their own crypto coins, that'd be something that'll definitely hype for me. Although I'm wondering if they'll require kyc from their crypto coins investors, that'll be a dent on the privacy that we're preaching here.
Despite the challenges most investors and traders faced in the market, there are some that have given up long time ago and there's some that are yet to give up, no after going through difficult moments in the market. I'm thinking of investing in memecoins that are overhyped because I'm more moved in obtaining quicker profits other than waiting for long term. It's not my fault but I'm just curious about making appropriate steps in the system. Every top companies picks interests in cryptocurrency because they have seen the light and no one would relent other than moving forward to accumulate significant trophies in the system.

From memecoins to nft's etc what do you think will be the next hype of 2024 or 2025? I personally think of real utility and true privacy. I think CBDC's and constant blockchain tracking will scare a lot of people and they will want true privacy something that monero can bring. Privacy by default is what will be highly desired and needed in the coming future as it will be highly beneficial. Nobody wants to be tracked 24/7 of everything they do.

What do you think?

There are few narratives that got the spotlight of the industry. Meme project, NFT, play to earn are some past narrative that was in the focus on the previous bull season. There is very nominal chance that these trend will see the light again. New narratives like ai, RWA, distrusted computing, decentralized storage solutions, interoperability are some few narratives that most investors are looking at.

As meme coins are currently popular and may or may not be profitable in the future, it is very difficult to think of such a hypothesis. But it is always difficult to predict the next hype in the crypto world as it is constantly evolving and new trends are emerging all the time. The next hype in crypto could be the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) technology into blockchain and cryptocurrency systems. As AI continues to advance and become more widely adopted, it can play a role in increasing the efficiency, security and effectiveness of crypto platforms. Ultimately, the next big thing in crypto will likely be driven by technological innovation and the potential for real-world applications.

It's not next, we're already in hype of Brc20 tokens, I see so many of them giving huge gains, when you look at these projects you know they won't last longer, it's precisely like 2017 ico/airdrops hype, no substance but still value. People are made after them for gains.

Ngl, I also felt like diving into them, but I understand nothing about it, and crazy Bitcoin fees counts too.

BRC20 tokens = NFTs. And that my friend, would be a thing of the past. The next big thing would be Real World Assets (RWAs) and Soulbound Tokens (SBTs). They will take off on Ethereum before the hype spreads into other chains (Bitcoin, Solana, etc).

I believe the excitement will happen after a prolonged bull market. Just wait until Bitcoin spot ETFs are approved for these tokens to take off. This is the usual behavior of the crypto market. Those who get in early will ultimately reap the rewards. Who knows what surprises we'll find in the future? Cheesy

Don't really know, I'm not interested in hype, I'm interested in long-term investment. And not a lot of products are good for that.

Your point is valid that long term investment is the best approach to avoid stressful monitoring of trading screen on daily basis, and making emotionally driven trading which often ends up in losses. The hype doesn't persist for long time and only those individuals make profit from hype who make timely entry in the market. Hence, long term investment is the best strategy to make substantial gains.

I agree with your perspective that DEFI can play significant role in the next bullish phase. The ongoing technological development to improve security systems and optimize rewards can potentially attract new investments in this sector. As you mentioned, the growing interest of traditional banks in cryptocurrencies could also fuel further growth in DeFi sector. If banks decide to actively participate and allocate portion of their funds secure and profitable instruemnts within the crypto space, we may witness remarkable expansion in DeFi sector.

I don’t think DeFi will again make a comeback. There was a time when Defi was in hype and everyone was interested in investing in it, but sadly many turned into scams and for which this DeFi system was avoided by many crypto lovers. Yes there is a possibility that, ICO and IEO will be trending soon. With the new AI systems people will develop more tokens and for this I think this will again gain the popularity.

I hope that will happen and happen again where ICO and IEO were successful in 2017/2019, but there is no guarantee that it will happen again because there are many fraudulent projects even though they are in the name of ICO and IEO, if you don't use Escrow it seems like it will continue to happen  and even fraudsters use any means to cheat.

In my opinion, up to now there has not been a trend that has succeeded in creating public trust in projects that create quality coinmeme coins for next year's trend, although it seems that public trust has decreased due to the large number of meme coins which are detrimental to investors.

I'm clueless, honestly but I was thinking that AI technology will have that hype.
And talking about privacy projects, the government won't let that happen. In the years coming will be no more such privacy, it is possible that every platform will ask for KYC.

By 2024 and in the years coming, we can expect a lot of change in the market. Might meme coins hype show up again or other new projects?

I'm not looking for a gem or waiting for possible hypes, I just invest in projects that have a sustainable market design (long-term), not these hypes projects that have no use case.
And you are doing well to not follow the hype, it is undeniable that great profits can be gotten by investing in a coin that eventually becomes hot and everyone wants a piece of it, but this is so rare and it is so unrealistic to think that everything is going to go according to our wishes, that when you think about this it is better to avoid those coins completely, as the number of investors that have followed the hype is huge and the results they got on average were very poor.

The next big thing in crypto will be RWAs (Real World Assets). This means the tokenization of physical assets from the real world into the digital world via the use of Blockchain tech. I'm talking about Gold, Silver, Diamonds, Copper, and anything else you can think of. Paxos Gold and Tether Gold are examples of a RWA. I don't think privacy will be "highly desired" in the future, especially when most people "have nothing to hide". The public prefers convenience above all else. Even if that means letting governments get into their personal life.

CBDCs will be the perfect tool for full-fledged authoritarianism in the future. Just wait and see. Once they're launched, you can say goodbye to stablecoins for good. Decentralized cryptocurrencies will survive, but they will only be used by a few. It'll be a dark future for crypto and our society as a whole. At least, Blockchain innovation/development is on-going. Nothing is set in stone yet, so lets hope for the best. Smiley

Due to current evolution of AI technology maybe there are some project creator will create a token intended for this technology so maybe for that it can gather hype since there are people following it tracks and also there are people love to shill some project trends for their own profit that's why I'm not totally surprise if I see AI technology tokens will be on hype in future.

But we don't know yet on when this to come since there's no actual timeline for certain technology to rise up since for now Meme coin still dominating the scene in terms of looking at huge hype. But maybe we should be prepare for that since the same with taking a risk on investing on meme coin its better to be at early phase when investing on AI so that we would have more greater chances to earn. Compare if we come late since we know what will be end point of all of this if we are so behind with the hype came.

Does he have leads on who's the potential culprit with the said hack? if it's a direct access then that only means that there's someone from his home that have done it.
There are no assumptions. Direct interference is almost 100% excluded: no one had access to his PC and there are no people around him who understand cryptocurrencies. The only thing I can assume is that the seed phrase was stolen during the installation of the wallet by some type of Trojan or the version of the wallet was compromised. Plus he used a Mac.
Whether someone uses mac or windows or linux, if the person have fallen to the phishing links or forms then the seed probably have been taken and compromised and the hacker just waited for it to get funded and always checks it from time to time. What an unfortunate scene for the guy, I just hope that he'll recover from this incident and won't make him quit the market because that frustration will make someone quit if it's a lot of money that's been hacked or even the hack itself alone.
