Hah, this just gave me my morning dose of laughter.
15 TH/s for 15 BTC, and they're saying it only utilizes 2,500 watts? Wow. Might as well throw in a free leprechaun that has a Pot-o-BTC radar, I'd be utterly convinced to purchase if that was the case.

I believe Intel will begin shipping 18nm chips this quarter and I understand that 14nm are under development now.
That level will filter down to ASIC chips very soon. KnC have already announced their next iteration will use 20nm technology.
So, yes we will see 20nm lower power consumption miners becoming more readily available. It would not surprise me if Cointerra's next development is 20nm ... The June release maybe the last of their 28nm production.

The question is, when are going to see a 1TH/s miner with a 20nm process for around 5BTC?
If this type of hardware doesn't come out before the end of the year a 200A residential service will not be handle running enough miners to make a profit by the middle of summer.

As I haven't had a response from minerscube to my request for them to prove to me they are genuine after one full week. I have to believe that they really are a scam and cannot recommend them to anyone ... If you've sent across any BTC I wish you good luck and hope I'm wrong and you do get a machine from them.

The other indicator is that they display their prices in btc which no mining company would do because bitcoin is too volatile curently.

There are plug-ins for online shopping carts now which take the current marketprice and convert it into BTC live. Once you purchase with BTC, there's an option to convert it fiat for deposit to your bank account right away to reduce market risk. Coinbase offers this for its customers. So I'd have to say that the point of displaying BTC as a shopping cart value, isn't necessarily a risk factor. That being said, I'm not supporting the claims here made by minerscube, I have to agree with the other forum members that it appears to be very, very, high risk.

Well they're certainly going to extraordinary lengths to convince people to invest with them if they are a scam. Perhaps far greater than I'd expect them to go, but time will tell.
Well yes when orders start at 6.5 BTC/unit of course they'd go to 'extraordinary lengths', fool 10 people and they've made a nice profit in return for slapping together a basic website and replying to some emails.
Happy to be proven wrong but seriously people don't give your money away that easily.

TSMC's 20nm factory isn't even finished so I doubt some no names will be getting 20nm chips first out the door.

Well bronan, May isn't that far away and we'll all know then whether they are blowing smoke or being serious.
20nm chips are the cutting edge product, Intel will be shipping 18nm chips this year, next quarter I believe. AMD are working on 14nm chips that should be available next year. That technology will filter down to ASIC chips soon.
There does seem to be a disparity between the theoretical performances manufacturers quote and reality, take Cointerra who claimed 2Th/s and 1650 watts for their Terraminer iv ... the reality is 1.2 - 1.6 Th/s and 2000 - 2100 watts.
So do I believe if minerscube are real that they have 20nm chips ... sure, why not, it's the newest technology and someone has to be first adopting it and we don't know what abilities the supposed technical crew have.
Do I believe their machines will perform at the rates they claim ... highly doubtful, there has not been a single machine released to date that has performed to the specs quoted by anyone.
Do I believe they are genuine ... Well they're certainly going to extraordinary lengths to convince people to invest with them if they are a scam. Perhaps far greater than I'd expect them to go, but time will tell.

And they have a 15 Th machine available now common guys its impossible
The only ones able to get these machines out now are the know ones who have experience with 28 nm products

With Cointerra now selling June delivery Terraminer iv I have sent a further email to Feng asking him for definitive proof that they are a legitimate company with a real product to sell that will be delivered as promised in May.
I will be making a final decision and confirming an order on Wednesday 5 March.
The numbers for me look like this ...
Minerscube 8.5 ... 20nm technology 8.5Th/s at 1400 watts
Terraminer iv ... 28nm technology 2Th/s at 2100 watts
Minerscube 8.5 ... 9.8 BTC including delivery via UPS
effective cost in NZD ... 9.8BTC = approx $7,000 plus tax on importation 15% $1050 total $8050
Terraminer iv ... USD$5999 + delivery via UPS $821.78 = $6820.78
effective cost in NZD ... USD$6820.78 = USD/NZD 0.83 ... $8217.81 plus tax on importation 15% $1232.67 total $9450.48
As you can clearly see to buy a known product that will be delivered in June but operates at 25% of the other and uses 50% more electricity costs me $1400 more or 2BTC
This why I really really want minerscube to be genuine, at current difficulty it's the difference between earning daily 0.27 BTC (approx) with the TM iv against 1.06 (approx) with the cube 8.5
* those figures are based on the performance of a pair of TM's I monitor, they run at at 1.2 - 1.6 Th/s and discover .48 - .51 BTC daily. I assumed new TM's would hash at around 1.8 and used the same ratio for the cube 8.5 so the numbers were realistic not fantasy.
I'll let you what I finally decide, but it's looking like I'll suck it up, take the hit and order from Cointerra. Once I see that Minerscube are shipping and are performing as quoted, I'll be switching to them I think.
