How about a coin that represents stock in a company?

For example, let's say I wanted to initiate a group buy on some miners. It might be difficult to get everyone to put up their money, etc., when required. It might also present problems for people who don't all agree on the final outcome of the group purchase. Some might want to cash out pretty quickly, others might want to reinvest, etc. A solution I've contemplated is a stock coin that is 100% pre-mined and offered at a specific price to those interested in the collaboration. The collaboration can post each month's mining success and expenses and a per stockcoin profit. Those who want out of the collaboration can sell their stockcoin based on what the market determines it to be worth based on the listed per stockcoin profit plus any perceived future value, etc. Others can choose to hold their stockcoins. Later on, the collaboration can buy back the stockcoin for a specified amount of bitcoins. Then a series 2 coin can be issued in subsequent quarters, etc., for future rounds of investing.

Think something like that exists already.

ProtoShares already are out there with that concept if I am not mistaken!

needs be fast, cpu-only also stabile and high hashrate is important. Those main points. Zerocoin is a bonus. Then you'd have to take care to avoid forks. That would be pretty much it. What's the name of it? Keep us updated.

Qrk and xpm are already pretty close to what we want i think.

And don't premine it to not damage the reputation.

I'm currently building an alt-coin for minimalists, perfectionists, and designers. What would you like to see in such a coin? I intend on totally revamping the UI for the QT wallet, I created stunning custom marks, and am working on a zen website that couldn't make it simpler to get started.

I don't want to see any more alts  Cheesy. Unless there's something revolutionary or unique I don't see the point.

I totally see your point. I just wish to leave my mark on the cryptocurrency community. My difference is that most alt-coins today can be ugly in design, install, building, mining, etc. My point in the creation of a new one is to remove all the clutter and make starting with the coin as easy as three button clicks.

I do think the wallets are pretty bland and look dated, but I reckon you'd be better off just designing a slicker wallet for Bitcoin.

I think for an Alt to really take off, it needs a lightweight wallet like Multibit, where you don't have to download the entire blockchain.  A lightweight wallet makes it much easier for people who aren't as tech-savvy to get on board.  Also a sensible block reward scheme, no pre-mining and preferably some innovation too.  A few faucets to spread the coins around are beneficial as well.

Well how about an alt coin that provides cycles for Medical/scientific  research.  a folding@home alt coin For Example. I am sure the Crypto folks and the Computational intensive research folks can work together to make wasting cycles on my system worth while.
