. Unless there's something revolutionary or unique I don't see the point.I totally see your point. I just wish to leave my mark on the cryptocurrency community. My difference is that most alt-coins today can be ugly in design, install, building, mining, etc. My point in the creation of a new one is to remove all the clutter and make starting with the coin as easy as three button clicks.
I do think the wallets are pretty bland and look dated, but I reckon you'd be better off just designing a slicker wallet for Bitcoin.
I think for an Alt to really take off, it needs a lightweight wallet like Multibit, where you don't have to download the entire blockchain. A lightweight wallet makes it much easier for people who aren't as tech-savvy to get on board. Also a sensible block reward scheme, no pre-mining and preferably some innovation too. A few faucets to spread the coins around are beneficial as well.
A crypto-currency that entrenches privacy protocols like Zero-coin and/or dark wallet would be great.
Well how about an alt coin that provides cycles for Medical/scientific research. a folding@home alt coin For Example. I am sure the Crypto folks and the Computational intensive research folks can work together to make wasting cycles on my system worth while.
