Being a jr member is a good privilege for those who wants to start joining in some bounty campaign. A jr member is starting point of everthing here in bitcointalk forum because you can do anything what other higher members can do like participating in signature campaign is one of th good advantage of being jr member. Because a newbie has a limitation here in this forum even though you can join in some campaign but sometimes it is rarely unlike jr member.

1. Join Signature Campaign
I wonder who this "friend" of yours is or if they are just another reincarnation of the same person who made this thread.

2. Keep reading and posting good threads
Read more and post less. That is the way you should grow your account. If you are a born shitposter then you wont get any "recognition" from anybody.

3. Investigate spammers and  merit farming then report them
Tough to do on a daily basis if you dont have a lot of free time to waste.

Why do I have the feeling that this was another pseudo-merit begging crybaby thread? Huh

1. Join Signature Campaign

If this tops the list of what your hero member "friend" thought you, that means the friend don't want you to grow. You are quick to start looking for signature campaign, you need to study the forum and know how to make reasonably, good post.

Bounties are just a reward you get for working for certain advertisers but not the focus of the forum.

Firstly, I'm happy becoming Jr. Member. But I have no idea what to do and I have a question in mind "what does a Jr. Member do?".

I met my friend (a Hero member in this forum) and asked him "what should I do?". He gave me some advices and I would like to share with you:
1. Join Signature Campaign
2. Keep reading and posting good threads
3. Investigate spammers and  merit farming then report them

Hopefully this thread will help you too and I would be greatly appreciated for the advices from you all.

Best,

keep reading and posting as long as you can discuss a good stance in a certain topic is good because you can enhance your knowledge here in the forum second investigate and reports spammer is good as long as you have a reference that your report is true. you can join signature campaign from bounty while you were reading and learning.

Good to see your started (almost started) your life in BTT forum with such interesting question.
However, it seems that you have several misunderstandings about what you should do in the forum, mate.

Never should do like this.
The main reasons are:
- Joining signature campaigns almost immediately after joining the forum might lead you to totally wrong directions.
There are hundreds or thousands of bounty campaigns in the forum (some of them available for newbies or Junior members), but the bounty space are abundant with shit posts, with totally shitshows from farming accounts, and you might never learn any valuable stuffs in those topics.
- One of side effects is you might fall into wrong approach, become familiar with shitshows, and changed gradually to be one of shitposters.
1. Join Signature Campaign

This point is right! I also strongly recommend you to spend your time to read those very helpful, informative topics:
1) [Tips] Guide for forum search
2) Newbies – Read before posting (Lauda)
3) TMAN's guide to getting merits
4) Full Member thanks to merit system (iasenko)
5) tbct_mt2's Guideline on some forum functions, English texbooks
(in which I give links to my other three helpful topics)

Read them, learn from them, improve yourself and rank up. After having more knowledge, skills, ranked up to higher level. It is right time for you to join campaigns in the forum. Please remember don't forget to keep your contributions in the forum through your high-qualitied threads/ topics.

2. Keep reading and posting good threads

Of course, it is really good if you find them (abusers)  by chance and report them to admin or moderators of the forum.
Nevertheless, I don't recommend you to spend all or most of your time in the forum to find them. It doesn't make sense.
Instead, you should spend all or most of your time to do the first step I mentioned above.

3. Investigate spammers and  merit farming then report them

Important recommendations for all forum newcomers:
Never beg for merits, beg for campaigns/ bounties!

I met my friend (a Hero member in this forum)
Seriously?  I'd probably have to put an ad in the newspaper looking for a local bitcointalk friend with a Hero member account, and there would probably be a lot of driving involved if we decided to meet up for coffee.  How do all of you people have these friends who are members here?  I just don't get it.

Jr. members do a lot of spamming, because where there's one Jr. member account there are probably 20 alt accounts at the same rank.  For the past couple of years or so, this trend has exploded because of all these shitty altcoin bounties (and some legitimate bitcoin-paying signature campaigns).  I would entreat OP to read some posts in Bitcoin/Altcoin Discussion and see how much of it is spam, and how many posts come from low-ranked members.

I would discourage anyone from getting involved in a signature campaign immediately.  There are a lot of members who are ignorant about bitcoin and really have nothing useful to say--and at the same time, they have to make X number of posts per week, and the result is mountains of crapola.  Not that I expect you to even read this advice, but I would suggest OP do some reading here first and less posting.  And much, much less thread-starting.

2. Keep reading and posting good threads

Can I change that to "Keep reading and think before posting in good threads"

A lot of threads started by newbies and juniors are redundant and repeats of other threads. These are annoying, and pollute the indices. You should also think before you add a low value or spam post to a good thread. If you aren't making meaningful contributions, then you are likely to alienate members who value that thread.

Best,

A hero member giving you advice and the first thing he gave was to join signature campaign? Probably not a good member to look into.

You should go with number 2 and for 3, you don't really need to investigate, you can basically see spammers everywhere you can report them, put on ignore list, or just literally ignore them. As for merit farming, if you have proofs, then report them and/or you can reply here: USERS THAT ARE ABUSING MERIT SYSTEM / Suspected users that are abusing merit 3.0 i think Mods and DTs are still looking into this and are still trying to address the matter.

Again, we are avoiding our objectives of joining this forum.
We are doing signature campaign for money and investigation for merit. C'mon, we are here for learning more about bitcoin and cryptocurrency.

3. Investigate spammers and  merit farming then report them
In my opinion, you should focus on learning, improving your knowledge, skills, rather than spend most or all of your time in the forum to find cheaters, spammers, abusers.
Of course, it's good thing when you find them by chance and report them to moderators due to their abusements.
But, I strongly suggest you not spend your time solely to find them, because it is one of best way to waste your precious time.

Instead, I recommend you to find prestigous guys in the forum and their invaluable, helpful topics. Someone like Jet Cash, TMAN, The Pharmacist, Lauda, iasenko, mdayonliner, hugeblack, etc.
You can learn bunches of amazing things from them.

In truth i'm not sure what you can do as i am not quite at that stage just yet.

As and when i do arrive at junior member i will continue to create content that i think will help, be useful to someone, and is worthy of meriting.

I have a certain style of writing that almost tells a story- a bloggers style if you will. Some people like it and some people may not. I just hope that the eyes that like it, happen to glance over my work!

Just create some decent/worthy content, and hope for the best.  Wink

2. [...] posting good threads
This thread is not an example of a good thread. Hopefully, you can see why without being explicitly told the answer.

Smiley
And please stop recommending people to join signature campaigns as soon as they can. With barely any knowledge of crypto, what can you actually discuss? How the trends go up and down?
