There are lot of factors that scare people from investing into bitcoin. Some people are of the opinion that government can come into bitcoin at any and make a law that will affect them of their investment or government can promulgate a law that will affect since bitcoin is usually circle around fraud or scam
in my opinion maybe the cause is. bitcoin is not stable about price, and bitcoin is still there until now there is a government that prohibits bitcoin. so in my opinion maybe many investors still doubt because of that right.
because of bad news and bubble burst news and some people create fud and some people spread rumors and bad news about crypto and bitcoin like example j.p morgan people said really rumors about bitcoin people panic and sell their bitcoin for cheap those who believe and want to invest in bitcoin or crypto they feel so scared by the fud and news especially rumors in crypto like example so many hacking the exchanges, phishing attacks , scam the innocent people and newbies trusting and investing in bitcoin like example ico run away with money or some lending exchange platforms . we need to be careful where to invest and buy the bitcoin. follow the market closely and take the decission not in hurry.
For me, the factor of what scares people from investing in bitcoin is the current price being higher than most are comfortable with. The main question I am asked is, "will it fail?". Followed by, how low can it go. Basically they think it is not a good price to invest when they are scared. At 3k BTC price, these same people do not get scared owning bitcoin. So its more of a price fear, than thinking it isnt the future.
One factor also that concerns others about crytpo that causes them not to invest is that some people tend to scatter fake news about it... And most people believed it...

However, after developing the interest in bitcoin, they quickly revert their interest in bitcoin the moment they hear of the volatile nature of bitcoin, thereby, deciding not to invest into it anymore. The main reason to afraid about Bitcoin is, the price is not stable. The price will keep on fluctuate. Then many countries are banned Bitcoin and many negative news spreading.
very many opinions and a lot of interesting opinions! I think the only thing that stops people from investing in the crypto market is the world legality of the crypto currency! when there will be legalization, the whole world will use crypto coins!
Bitcoin being the talk and the top cryptocurrency dominating the market. Many factors scare people away from investing in bitcoin and some still sees bitcoin as ponzi and a scam form of investment. Some gave the reason that government will ban it, and are waiting for government approval before they can invest in it. While some are scared of its volatile nature, saying it should be stable before they can delve into it. Especially institutional investors.
The main thing most of the people scare is because of its volatile nature, bitcoin inventor is unknown, Government bans this are the main things they scare about.
As far as I see and feel, people are afraid to invest in this market because they do not know much about bitcoin and they do not understand the true nature of bitcoin and what ICO projects do.
My experience say that people have different stereotypes. The people thinking that Bitcoin it's the financial pyramid. Some people thinking that Bitcoin haven't value

Agree with your great perspective mate. In addition with so many FUD's and Fakes news scattered around the world about bitcoin I think this is also the great reason why people scared to invest on it. Because they are afraid of their money and efforts to be put in a risky investment without any legal reason to recovered when it is being steal or scam.

Bitcoin price fluctuations are another reason for fear of investing in it. It makes them not feel safe with the money they have spent. Bitcoin is now worth more than $ 3,000 to buy and it is making investors feel more pressured. However, just be patient and have reasonable plans, Bitcoin will bring high profits. 
maybe the main factor that makes people afraid to invest in bitcoin is the expensive and volatile price of bitcoin. but there are other factors like bad news about bitcoin, bitcoin is illegal. with some of these factors, people keep thinking about whether it's safe or not investing in bitcoin.
