People are taking profit from those who entered crypto market earlier this year. These newbies wanted to get rich fast by invest in altcoins for possible high profitability. Unfortunately they were on the wrong side of the market and now it's time to pay up. HODL may survive for some altercoins, but most of altcoins are going down to near zero value soon.

this has been all over the news for the past day. if you just google the name of them ("Bancor") you will find all the news sites on top talking about this.
additionally the news about the hack and them losing millions of dollars worth of altcoins is all over their official Twitter page so it is not fake. you can see it here: https://twitter.com/search/Bancor
that is not something you can easily solve.
hacks will always happen, it is more like a never ending fight between the hackers and the exchanges or generally the security experts. and it is not just happening on exchanges, there are a lot of businesses and websites that are suffering these attacks. the only thing you can do about it is to reduce the damage.
for example the exchanges should really start using multi signatures and keep the keys separate and also hold most of their coins in cold storage. that can at least reduce the amount they lose.
It has being a terrible year for the crypto currency market in general. Let's just hope we will see a tangible reversal soon though

which altcoin do you mean? and if your mean is bancor, then I think it's because there is a bad negative that comes out because I heard from my friends about bancor but I don't search for anything about that. I see in the market, many altcoins are trying to increase again although some of them are down following bitcoin price and if altcoin can get survive this time, then I think soon, we can see altcoin will start rise again. we are waiting for a long time just to see the altcoin increase back and I think in the rest of this year, we will see altcoin is getting up again.
