This is changelog of xpm High performance miner.

Changes in -hp9:
 * Sunny's mining optimizations from 0.1.2.
* Minor mining optimizations from mtrlt and gatra.
 * Small sieve optimizations for 32-bit processors.
 * Sunny's new chains/day estimate.
 * Sunny's new 'listprimerecords' RPC command.
 * New default value for roundsievepercentage is 70 on mainnet (better chains/day, equal 5-chains/h).

So it is evident that mtrlt was working, he was doing something. It says minor, so maybe it was not such a big deal. But yeah, it would be good if he updated the status or provide the beta testers with current version. Maybe that would release some of the pressure he is currently under.

The nature of programming is, that it is done when it is done... And it usually takes much longer to complete goals than it was planned. And creating primecoin gpu miner is not piece of cake. I doubt mtrlt is using OpenCL on daily basis. He probably didn't use OpenCL for anything else but his reaper miner. So if he is not that versed in OpenCL, we should give him more time.

Would be good to hear a word from him.

1. Average US income was assumed to be minimum wage due to the general state of the economy. This was an error on my part, and I acknowledge it.
2. I never called myself a journalist. Don't put words in my mouth.

Well, there is nothing more for me to say, because your whole debunking-of-all-my-facts streak was just correcting one erroneous statement I made. All other of my facts that you speak of as if false that I have made are correct as far as we are concerned.

The reason I chose this thread title was to gain attention to raise awareness to the situation I am trying to get eyes on. You gotta make enthusiastic titles, and asking a question like I did there is the best way. Tongue As I said, I'm not pretending to be a journalist or a reporter. I'm just helping people know what's going on.

Any further bias I have added past the original post has been due to my bitterness. I acknowledged it.

Even if I was biased, It still doesn't change the fact that mtrlt could have scammed us, for all we know, and I think that is something that everyone should know. Ultimately, I think you're just trying to seek ways to discredit me. Did Mtrlt pay you to write that post?  Roll Eyes He sure could have with that 45 BTC that has left his BTC address.

Or maybe I have schizophrenia. Tongue

You decide.

I'm expecting him to finish it because he got about 7 months of the average US income in 3 weeks, regardless of whether or not they were "donations".

But that's just my opinion.
I'm confused here... I just got done reading:

Reporting facts is called bitching? And bringing pitchforks?
C'mon.
Stop crying.
I expressed no opinions. Simply reported facts. Whether or not it is good or bad - you decide. Only you.

Are you still reporting facts?

1) US citizens made $13,401,868,693 in personal Income for 2012 <--- THIS is called a fact http://bber.unm.edu/econ/us-tpi.htm
2) the MEDIAN income in the united states for 2012 was $39,332 ($3,277.67/month) <--- This is ALSO a fact.

(for those not in the know, median means ~50% of people made LESS and ~50% of people made MORE than $39.332.)

Using these 2 facts alone, in "one month and three days" (as you stated in your OP), mtrlt has made ~3 months of MEDIAN income for the United States. <-- yet another fact

Now, when I was still in the Navy, my income was over $5000 per month, and compared to civilians doing the same job, I was extremely underpaid.  So, now mtrlt has made less than 2 months of what I made when I was on active duty 8 years ago. <--- This again is a fact... are you writing this down?

Your FACT is..... lies.

Even now, working part time, I am making far more than your "average US income" figure.

The nest time you want to state facts, try using real ones, and NOT what some high-school dropout sweeping floors at McDonalds while scratching his ass is earning.

That said let's get down to reporting... A TRUE journalist reports this without bias or opinion.  Your thread title alone shows you fail in this respect.  When I saw you thread title my first thought was this thread belonged in one of those trash magazines next to an article on UFO's.

Damn, I was spot on.

This is an example of TRUE reporting:

It has been almost 5 weeks since mtrlt started working on a GPU program to mine Primecoins.  In order to motivate him to work faster, he asked for donations from those interested in the project.  While mtrlt has made some progress reports thus far, it is hard to follow them as his thread was starting to fill up with off-topic comments that had nothing to do with his work.  He then created a new thread to make reports, but closed it when the off-topic posts continued.  He has been silent since his last report nearly a week ago.

In other news, detractors of mtrlt have been flooding the internet with supposed facts that draw a very different picture from reality.  One poster claims mtrlt has run off with "7 months of average US income".  We checked into this claim and found that the poster thinks the 'average US income' is minimum wage.  We ran a study on the OP's title to his thread, and many people disagreed with his stated comment that "he was just reporting facts and not opinions".  We will keep you updated as more news breaks.

In related news, primedigger started a thread titled "So, why is porting primecoin mining to the GPU so difficult?".   We read through his article (which can be found at: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/xpm-so-why-is-porting-primecoin-mining-to-the-gpu-so-difficult-279194) and found some very interesting information.  While it is too lengthy to discuss at length here, we encourage our readers to go and check it out, I feel there is a lot of information there that may explain mtrlt's silence.

You have 9 posts here? heh... why all the low post guys coming out of the woodwork? (guy who posted above has 3...)

Anyway, I have no investment in this whatsoever so I can be reasonable without having an agenda. It's kinda fishy this guy, whoever he is, hasn't even said a peep in quite some time now. I know if I was developing something like this and intended to deliver, I'd also be in the forums continuing hype and rolling in more donations, then when delivered no one would complain because they'd all be happy. In this case the silence is kind of weird. Either a snag was hit and he fears being able to make it work effectively, or he really has ran off.

Again, I have no investment in this, I'm just following the story and something isn't adding up.

That's true, But with that wage you have quite the responsibility to deliver a product.

Automotive Service Technicians - The people who fix your cars.

Not trying to be a dick here but my dad is an "Automotive Service Technician" and makes about $45/hr, not 8.95 which is Oregon's minimum wage.... not sure where you get this info from but no one at any shop my dad has worked for was paid minimum wage.

Please quote the places where I was whining, places where i'm posting numbers and other facts don't count, and it's normal for me to be a pussy, because that's just another word for cat. Tongue (see my avatar)

I'll only really take my advice with people who I think deserve it.

Thanks.

Sigh it really does seem you have a vendetta against him.

You're bending the facts here to make them fit your story.

There are so many logical fallacies in your argument, I don't know where to start.

How about you reread your post, mull it over for a while, then come back when you're less callow.

Feel free to go ahead and start. I like to be corrected.

I'm not kidding.

Saying I'm wrong and not saying why it doesn't win any arguments either.

So I've never bothered with any XPM and didn't donate to this mtrlt guy either, but after seeing this thread floating here for a while I must say the fact that he hasn't popped in yet to say anything like "hey guys still working on it hit some challenges but it's still going" seems extremely suspicious. Hell, even a lot of scammers come back a few times to keep the donations rolling in.

So the way I see it either he got in trouble somehow and can no longer use the internet or he's made enough and is in full on hiding mode trying to keep away from any possibility of people figuring out who he is. Or I mean I guess he's just so honestly busy that he hasn't even thought about checking the forums but  Roll Eyes

Still that`s neto not bruto, anyway try and find any programmer do work for you for 8$/h, better offer the price to someone in face and face the consequence Tongue

I didn't say the job is overpaid. I said that because the job earns so much, it should be absolute top priority.

Dude I don't even know why you care so much; you didn't even donate.

It seems like you have a personal vendetta against mtrlt or something.

This is true, I didn't donate a dime. (Partly because I didn't have a dime to donate at the time - I may have donated if I did - and If I did I would have regretted it, Big time)

Mr. Mtmrlt just got on my nerves, and I think that there is a possibility he scammed my fellow bitcoiners as well, and so, this is why I created the thread. I thought it needed a discussion place, too. Tongue

But the single biggest reason I created this thread is because I found it VERY suspicious that:

1. He didn't want people to know how much money he has gotten. Maybe so that other people go ahead and send him more...??

2. Now that people found out, he closed threads and deleted posts, removing all evidence. He even removed the original BTC donation address, making it difficult for people to see how much money he has received!

3. He called my stating of simple objective facts, completely lacking all and any judgement or negative statements towards him "whining", which I suspect is simply made up nonsense to cover up his past actions.

4. If he was legit, He'd come to this thread and make everything clear to all of us. But he does not.

All of this put together... isn't it just flat out suspicious?

I'm sorry Mr. Mtmrlt. I supported you at first, but now you have lost my faith.

1. His BTC donation address is: 1FKfgFQeZCpjGDn7ocgj26nk4K2TNiVJyD. It's stated clearly (in bold) in his new thread.

2. He locked his original thread (https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/xpm-working-on-a-gpu-miner-for-primecoin-258540) because people like you were spamming up his thread with scam accusations and such (no offense). You can clearly see he updated his OP with the link to his new thread (https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/xpm-working-on-a-gpu-miner-for-primecoin-new-thread-273637) that has everything the original post did, including the same BTC address. Look it up on the block explorer; all 75.30520335 BTC is there.

3. I don't see where he said you were whining in the original thread, but I can see why he locked it. The last 2 pages were completely off topic with jealous idiots drooling over the 75BTC he got.

4. Not sure about this one, but I hope he will clear it up soon.

The only thing he is in the wrong for right now is keeping everyone hanging. If he made a thread explaining his actions, I'm sure all of this will get cleared up.

lol also I just realized: your points 1 & 2 contradict each other. How can people keep sending him donations if he hid his donation address?

1. He hid the donation address from the thread that was exposing how much money he received, but he gladly showed his BTC address in the thread that did not have any information about how much money he received. My point holds perfectly.
2. I never accused him to begin with. I made a post with numbers on it.
3. He put it on the top of the new thread. He wasn't referring to the jealous idiots, he was referring to me after I reposted his BTC address's balance in the thread. (That is the post he deleted)

My point 1 & 2 do not contradict eachother. Please re-read what I said. He hid the BTC address after people started getting unhappy because they found out how much money was in that BTC address, then he created a new thread where he removed all posts that pointed out the blockchain.info link.
