@OP either change the topic title and OP or change the poll , cause they point at different things here. If you go by the topic title, this thread should belong in Meta, if you go according to the first half of the OP, it should be in meta once again, if you go by the other half it should belong in Bitcoin discussion(as there is no other option for these satoshi related threads) and if you go according to the Poll, it should be in meta again.

Hmm, how about we let a poll decide?  Grin

It is not something that is a community decision, and I'm pretty sure I can vote with 100s of IPs on the "Yes" part anyway, would take some time but can do it eventually. If your question is about satoshi's account , make it clear or if your question is about Satoshi's comeback make it clear as well.

Alright, fine. Title and OP edited for clarification. Smiley

Satoshi's GMX account was compromised several times before it was locked. There were little to no effect to the prices. If his GMX account was connected to Bitcointalk account, bitcointalk account would have been compromised. But Theymos locked the account and would only unlock it if a signed message is given. GMX account has also been locked. This makes almost any hacking attempts impossible.

That answers some questions I had if this is actually the truth.

The other version of satoshi actually writing the "it's not me" message cause of someone's life at harm, is also kind of cute though. But less believable for obvious reasons.

I don't think it would be wise to spend many coins to humanitarian organizations since they would instantly exchange them to fiat and push the price down.

I think satoshi still holds his coins and he is silently waiting for his time, taking over the world as the new world president. Cheesy

What a wonderful crypto world he would create. No poverty, basic income for everyone and much more. Cheesy:D:D:D

Don't take me serious. But i think that he will become more and more a powerful man. And it is wise to stay hidden until then. Like a fairytail.

Let's hope his character is without fail then.

Haha, those are some farfetched ideas, but I like the vision you have. I really wonder what a world it would be with btc being used to 90% of money circulating in the world and Satoshi came back just then and owns 5-10% of coins. What would he do first? Cheesy

I wonder if satoshi even has the desire to ever post on here ever again. Maybe he doesnt even remember his password.

What really is interesting is this quote:

Is this the first bitcointalk.org topic?
What happened with topic 1,2,3 and 4?

1, 2, and 4 exist in the staff forum. 3 was permanently deleted at some point (it must have contained Satoshi's real name and address).

I can't believe that there is not a copy of this data!

I'm pretty sure that is a myth. Satoshi was always wary of his privacy. Communicating encrypted and no one knew him really. There is no way he posted his details on the net, well knowing that what is in the net never can be lost.

Either it's me who can't find it through the forum's search function or it's not there any more.

I remember having seen it here before though and read some of the posts he was making in the beginning of this forum. Wanted to go back and read some of them for nostalgia but it's nowhere.

On a related note:

What would you say to him/her/them if the account in question started being active on these forums again or made an AMA?Smiley

You should use members->search members function instead. Or just look for the one with tag founder:

https://bitcointalksearch.org/user/satoshi-3

Satoshi made an appearance recently to say he is not Dorian Nakamoto.

And if his account is active again first I'll want to be sure that he is himself, if his email has been compromised, his account may be too in the future

I doubt that actually was satoshi that "appeared" again. It was probably just a hacker guy trying to make the price rise or maybe fall, because that's what I would assume would happen.

What I would do if I was him is to wait that 1 bitcoin reaches $50,000 - $100,000 and then I would announce that I would start moving and selling coins bit by bit. 95% of the coins I would sell and give to the humanitarian organizations and 5% or even less I would keep as a reward for changing this shitty world into a better place.

This would make Satoshi definitely a biggest man that ever walked the planet, if everything would go as I envisioned of course! Smiley

I think my first question would be, Why did you abandon your experiment? The second question would be, Can or will you ever spend your hoarded coins? That would answer some important questions for many people in this community. If I am allowed a third question, it would be < How do we stop the banks from stealing your technology? >

Don't get your third question. Open source can be copied but not stolen.

It will be big news event in the bitcoin world. I mean it will make headlines. The confidence level in bitcoin will be restored and finally people would have faith in the coin. Also everyone would probably rushing over to seek his advice on how to solve all the current mess we are facing.

Voted: Yes, but only if he can remain anonymous. Can't understand why is majority voting No if there is the option I voted. I'd love to have a chance to see Satoshi here. And it is proved that you can remain anonymous, remember backopy, he was here and nobody knows where he is now. )

Hmm who is this person? Creator of SR 2?

I gave his posting history a quick view but got even more confused after a while.

He is the founder and administrator of Black Market Reloaded, one of Silk Road's biggest competitors. He is one of the few big players of the dark web in times of SR and SR2 who wasn't caught.

Satoshi made bitcoin decentralized so that after it's creation his own presence is not that important, or his voice to some extent. It is the community that
is here to take votes on how the network will advance. I think it's best for satoshi to remain unknown, far from the spotlights, even for his own security, as well as ours.

I believe it is in everyone's, even bitcoin itself's benefit that Satoshi remain anonymous. It is weird for a concept that promotes decentralization and freedom to have one 'god' figure of some sort.

On the other hand, if he's a person, and not an organization, maybe he got a terminal illness or something thats why he couldnt continue.

well he did kinda abandon it imo, its extremely shady what happened. like you don't just leave a project completely after it has flourished especially after you founded it. my theory is that he was blackmailed and murdered explaining why he hasnt even  anonymously said anything in the past 5 years.

not shady at all.. just google it. he left with good reason.

and if you want to talk about people leaving projects.
bill gates left microsoft
larry ellison leaves oracle
brendon eich leaves mozilla
