There are many dormant address in Bitcoin also which haven't moved any coins from a long time but we can't say exactly the reason behind it as there are many possibilities for it like loss of keys, death of the owner or they might be waiting for a much longer period to have sustainable wealth with them.

We can just assume what could've happened for him. Only God and the user himself knows the real thing happening with the wallet. Based on the holding, he/she is one of the early investor. Maybe he have set the wallet aside and making use of other earnings for his life. For users who question whether cryptocurrency can make you millionaire, here is the answer for the question.

When we calculate the ethereum ath price this will go much in value than what is being mentioned.

Mental Fortitude? Holding it thru multiple bulls and bear? Possible
I also thought that the owner lost his private keys to this wallet, but I just looked at the transaction and there is one 3 hours ago.

You can do that if you're comfortable with your investment and the project you invested in, and you have other sources of income that you can rely on and do not depend on your profit in Cryptocurrency. This holder has extensive knowledge about the market, its volatility, bull run, and bear market condition, for you to hold that long and until now you have to be educated and have a strong will, we never know his target price to sell but what I'm sure of he will never sell or dump all of it because he invested in a right coin.

All we can do is take a guess but surely all of us never know what happened to the person who own that ETH address.  I also think that the person is more likely not in this world any more.  With an initial investment of $77k, I doubt that person will be careless about his private key or password.  There is another thing that comes in my mind, if the person is alive probably he is in prison, unable to access his ETH wallet.

How can this much ETH being locked or lost affect the ETH on the market realistically? What are the outcomes here? Since it doesn't have any cap on the total supply, you would have thought that it won't hit hard.
Probably it will affect the supply of ETH in the future if its remain dormant, and its hard to know what happened to that wallet because that’s a huge money and If have that kind of money i will never abandon it without any reason. We can never know the owner of this wallet, there’s no way to do this and the only thing that we can do is to monitor the movement of this wallet if you are really curious about this one.

Satoshi Nakamoto wallet still receives coins from grateful followers, which does not confirm the fact that he is alive. The very fact that the owner of the wallet is alive is the withdrawal of coins from the wallet, which last occurred 40 days ago. Apparently, the owner of the wallet does not need the funds that he has.
This seems like the most probable explanation for the whole thing,  and the owner of that address is probably so rich that they do not need to touch those coins and still enjoy a life of luxury.

The only other options which I can think of is that the holder is incredibly greedy and even that amount is not enough, or they are not interested on spending their coins at all, not the most likely explanation but there are been a few cases of people which have fortunes on the bank and yet they live their life like any other person.
Or alternatively, Satoshi is dead, and that is why we are not going to end up seeing anyone spending. Money going in doesn't mean anything at all, even if they are poor, they may have burned all the access to it and it's gone now, it is just burned bitcoins and nothing more, and you can throw money in there if you want to as well, it means nothing about the owner.

One thing that can change any of this is the fact that if there is any money ever that goes OUT of it, then it could actually start to mean something. Since we know many addresses which we assume is satoshis, and none of them ever moved money out for the past 10+ years, we could easily say it is not an issue at all.

We can not draw any conclusions yet because there are those who have some bitcoin in a wallet they haven’t touched and don’t still have any plans of touching their cryptos.

Other other hand there is still a chance of the owner not getting access to his coins due to his careless, that is the painful part of it. But crypto-currency isn’t merciful with such mistakes the coin would remain locked out to everyone until the right combination is gotten.

At present, it appears that the fall of Bitcoin is the position of Ethereum. Due to which a large amount of investment is made, this coin is currently second in the market to Ethereum. It is my opinion that you will never face loss by investing in Ethereum. Ethereum is the most popular and better quality coin compared to all other coins. When the price of Bitcoin increases, Ethereum also increases in volume and many investors prefer to invest in Ethium. Ethereum seems to be a very good coin to invest in the current market.
Too far from the topic bro.

I say he is dead, just like other members think.
Imagine if you have that kind of amount and you lost your keys. I would kill myself for my stupidity. We cannot say he is just too rich enough to not move it. If the owner is rich and alive he/she may have some instances to pay in cryptocurrencies and this could be the solution to that problem and so it will move. But there is no movement at all so this tells us that huge amount of Ethereum ain't going back out in the cycle anymore.
I kind of envy the owner for his stocks but if he is dead, there is nothing to be jealous of anymore.

When I see this tweet from someone I cant imagine if the owner is where now. He didnt touch his asset for a very long time or is it that he is just still waiting for a great run? I do hope he isnt dead cause the money he left is really a huge one. Or if he loss his key is one of the surreal nightmare ever that will happened.  Lots of free airdrops and fork rewards to his wallet.

  -   I can't believe what I'm seeing at that address, the amount is too big, 406k$ which is equivalent to the ETH that the owner of that address has, and then his other tokens like OMG are around 31k$. Only one person owns it.

I hope the owner is still alive, we just don't know if he has forgotten that address, but that is impossible, he deposited 250k ETH, and that is unlikely to happen. And I think it looks like the address wasn't hacked because if the hacker got into it, that wallet doesn't have a large amount of balance.

Many possibilities can happen to the wallet's owner, including if he dies and has not had time to tell anyone that he has a lot of assets. We don't know what really happened and can only guess. That's a lot of money and when the price of ETH can go up again, it's sad that we don't own the wallet while the owner doesn't use it for anything.

But it's possible that he lost his wallet keys and is still looking for them in the places where he usually keeps his secrets. Or the owner really wants to leave his wallet untouched for several years. Many questions arise from us.

Dead most likely. I can't imagine why people would believe anything else because that's the most plausible scenario. People die. There were times when it was way more of a problem because relatives didn't understand what cryptos were and couldn't recover them as they didn't know how or if they should. If the owner would have lost his privatekey, it would be a juicy story that already leaked to press.

My best friend died years ago and happened to know he had sold every crypto before that. I passed a message to his family that don't wipe or sell his hard-drives. And explained that he used to get insanely big airdrops and there's a change he is getting more of them. But i don't think they even consider that cryptos might be actually valuable.

No one really knows if the owner of such wallet is still alive or what.If he does but we know that there are several reason for someone who cant able to access this wallet
whether he had lost the keys or totally forgotten that he had this wallet or simply he had tending to hold it for very long time. Its true that someone who had made out that tweet
in speaking about mental fortitude is really on that extreme manner which withstanding the ups and downs of this market for a decade if ever he had been seeing this now.
It would really be just a waste of money if ever he do lost his keys.  Cry

And we can only make certain speculation about what happened to the owner of the wallet.
Some may think about losing the keys which will be really stressful every time he or she opens their wallet.
Some also think that the owner has passed away or something bad happened to his real life
Some think about Satoshi
Some also think that he is willing to wait for higher and higher ETH price
 Grin Grin

Whatever the speculation, will hackers actually be able to hack the wallet? Probably they are thinking of this because knowing this wallet hopefully they cannot.

I also thought that the owner lost his private keys to this wallet, but I just looked at the transaction and there is one 3 hours ago.

There are some who are saying that the owner might have lost his keys or the owner is dead etc. etc. At least try to visit the Etherscan address to see that there's a transaction that just happened hours ago. LOL!!

At first, I only looked at the token holdings and the coins there are already worth ~$32,000. I looked it for the second time and I saw that huge amount of Ethereum up there. Cheesy I think the best reason why this Ethereum holder is still holding that huge amount of Ethereum after multiple bulls and bears is that, his/her target selling price isn't reached yet. Maybe his/her selling price is $10,000 per Ethereum and he/she is just patiently waiting for it.

Trust and Patience at it's highest. Kudos to the owner of that wallet. Cheesy

Man that is a crazy high amount of wealth stored in one wallet that is probably lost forever. As others in this thread has already said, there is just not really a way to find out who is the owner of this wallet or why he has not done anything with it for years now. My guess would be, that either the keys to the wallet were lost or something happened to the holder.
I highly doubt, that he has just forgot about the wallet. He has 250.000 ETH on it and according to google 1 ETH did cost 0.31 $ during the ICO, which means this guys has invested 77.500 $ during the ETH ICO. That is a massive investment and i doubt that anyone could forget something like that.

Actually, this is a very common thing that happens to old investors as they never think that this will happen to crypto because, in the first place, we never care about it until such time comes we are badly needed for it and seeing it valued more than what we think before.
Yes maybe they didnt know that their investment would become something so big like this. Even me knowing that I forgot my keys and I had something like that maybe I am considered dead already for that kind of situation. I just really hope that OP unlock it and dont sell right away but any investors would sell since they profited big already.

There are numerous possibilities. It is possible he is already very rich that he doesn't anymore care about the airdrops for as long as his ETH are intact. I guess a person like this one must have also grabbed the opportunity with other successful coins including Bitcoin. He must have made big money already. He is an early adopter.

But it is also possible that he is already gone or that he has lost access to these coins. If this is what happened, it is very sad that he never get to enjoy the fruits of his investment.
