That is possibly correct OP either he is dead or lost his keys. I couldn't imagine as well to a person who has that great amount in his/her wallet can still afford to hold until now and it is certainly there is something wrong happened to the owner.
What if he has another wallet with way much stash that he is spending from than what we are seeing right now in the "untouched" address?
Regardless, still anyone here has not explained to us that outgoing transaction from the address that happened slightly over 40 days ago. Can someone make a transaction out of a wallet minus owning the private keys?

Actually, this is a very common thing that happens to old investors as they never think that this will happen to crypto because, in the first place, we never care about it until such time comes we are badly needed for it and seeing it valued more than what we think before.

This is how it works, we can never know who owns that wallet and where is he now, we can speculate about his/her life status but we can never know its reason. Its a huge money yes, either he is just waiting for the right timing to sell or they can’t access the wallet anymore, let’s just hope that they can still access this wallet so his relatives can use that money if something worst happened already. A reminder to back-up your wallet always, and let someone know about your secured wallet.

It would be impossible for us to know what really happened, but from the looks of things, he's not dead and may either lost he's private keys or intentionally keeping the asset for a purpose. I ones had the intension to keep a certain amount of cryptocurrency for my unborn children and that may be what he's intension is like. We all have different levels of discipline and some persons could be very discipline in keeping their asset for a very long time, to serve the purpose for which its kept.
I think the guy is still alive and he did not lose his private keys because when I look at his tokens list, he still have those recent tokens. I think he himself buy those tokens from the exchange and then send it in this/his wallet. If he start investing in 2015 then I don't think he will be careless when it comes to handling his wallet or private keys because from that year, cryptos are already making their names, especially ETH. The guy is only hodling strong.

You know whales, they can HODL even for a long year, only to see the real potential of the assets that they HODL. They only bought the coins at a not so expensive price and they only invest what they can afford to lose so, there will be no regrets for them in case things didn't run well in the future.

That wallet received the ETH distribution from Ethereum Genesis block that totally distributed about 72M ETH.
https://etherscan.io/txs?a=0x2b6ed29a95753c3ad948348e3e7b1a251080ffb9

More whale wallets received ETH from Genesis block
https://blockchair.com/ethereum/transactions?s=internal_value(desc)&q=block_id(0)#f=hash,block_id,time,recipient,internal_value,id,sender

I hope the whale investor is fine with his health as did not touch any ETH in that wallet since 2015 is really weird.

No one has a clue but with such wealth and money, I'd be living quietly enjoying all of that. I guess all of our speculations that he has left the world already could be it.
Or, it's just like a ticking bomb that the owner is just waiting for another bull run and will eventually dump all at once. We really have no idea what's with it and it's a mystery how did that transaction out happened.

Yes, the wallet may have been "untouched" for a long time, but can someone explain the transaction out of the wallet that happened about 40 days ago?

i also investigated the transaction done and got this thing. yeah, so I think the "lost private key" or "untouched" speculation seems out of date. if it was a hacker i think he would not hesitate to take out all the Ethereum that was in the wallet.
We don't know who owns this wallet, but I think he is someone in a position somewhere. even so, he might be able to shake Ethereum prices, especially when all the Ethereum has been sent to several exchanges.

I think that he has not a lot to wait for as he has over 400 million of dollars and that is enough for him to be a millionaire as with that amount he can pretty much live his entire life without doing anything and just enjoy life.
Take note as well those forks like etherclassic which he has 250k tokens of that aside from some random airdrops. Literally gonna change your life already.

If he lived and said to find the right time, ETH hit 4K, at that time, he had 1 billion dollars. That could be a pretty good time to sell small portions of his assed, if he's alive and has the keys.
Thats what I even suspect. Probably he died already or if not then possibly dying now since he cant access it due to forgotten keys.

What do you think mate. Maybe someone had access to it or trying too?

There's a high chance that it's either a lost private key or the owner is now dead, That's the most logical thing to speculate now given that the value of the investment is very hard to tolerate not to touch. If ever the wallet address is touched, I'm pretty sure that it will make a ruckus and there could be possibility an increase on eth selling pressure. As of now we can only speculate on what may happen to the owner and the wallet keys, There's not much we can do.

I haven't checked bur there are tons of addresses on higher ranked coins.  Quite simply it wasn't worth back then what it is now and the owner of those keys might have forgot about it or got locked out of it somehow.  Check older bitcoin addresses, there is a ton of dead money out there.

...Since he got a transaction just 9 minutes ago from now I am assuming he is alive.

Satoshi Nakamoto wallet still receives coins from grateful followers, which does not confirm the fact that he is alive. The very fact that the owner of the wallet is alive is the withdrawal of coins from the wallet, which last occurred 40 days ago. Apparently, the owner of the wallet does not need the funds that he has.

Looking at the transaction history of the wallet shows that the source of his 250K ETH is from the genesis smart contract which means the wallet is a seed investors when Ethereum first introduced. Probably this wallet lost private key or owner is dead since this is a very long time untouched.

It’s 77K USD investment that time and it’s impossible for a seed investor to leave that amount untouched the first time ETH make a huge move on price.

Due to the specificity of cryptocurrencies, there will be more such wallets every day. That is why it is so important, on the one hand, to secure access to our wallets, but also so that in the event of unfortunate events, for example, our loved ones can gain access to funds if someone has larger sums in cryptocurrencies.

Referring to the wallet mentioned above, in token transfers there is an outgoing transaction from 40 days ago: https://etherscan.io/tx/0x29835bd0778553a70c462515f87e8c07bc353a21eb734e4296920c7a89f25c84
Anyone know what it could be?

The biggest possibility is losing the key that he has or has died, if you look at wallet activity, there were still transactions in, 1 hour ago. However, not a single outgoing transaction (ETH) from the wallet. There is only 1 outgoing transaction (ERC-20) from this wallet, I don't know how this can made an out outgoing transaction activity.

The answer is no one know.

Similar like Bitcoin address which contain a lot Bitcoin and still doesn't moved until now, I think it's high likely the owner is dead or lose the private key. But since ETH is a centralized token, I believe in the future those Ethereum will be moved since Vitalik Butterin have a control over every ETH. He might burn unused ETH because he think no one is holding it.

We can only speculate mate, so yeah, worst case is that he is dead, or if he is still alive, maybe he lost the key already and maybe trying to find it out for the last couple of years.

We all know that there are crypto enthusiast who might have forgotten their keys, I once misplaced my private key and it's good that it has no crypto that time and it was just in the beginning of my crypto journey.

I hope he is alive and that he has not lost his keys and everything is well with him,he surely is one of the earliest investors as his wallet has first transaction over 7 years ago which coincides when Ethereum first come to life in 2016.

I wonder if there is a way to check what kind of wallet is he using by using walletexplorer or chainanalysis so we can have a better idea what has happened?Since he got a transaction just 9 minutes ago from now I am assuming he is alive.
