It's like the reputation of bitcoin is bound to be famous but media played a significant factor on bitcoin's mass adoption and popularity. Unfortunately, it went both ways since bitcoin was portrayed as a medium for illegal acts (silk road and dark web) and as a revolutionary payment method.
Fortunately, the merits overwhelmingly outweighs all the negative effects of bitcoin, which quickly skyrocketed its price relatively faster than any investment. Since then, successful corporations and influencers have continuously bashed bitcoin as being a 'bubble' but it still remained dominant in the market despite all of which news circulated prejudicial to it.
