Your first suggestion is actually quite good for someone who just knows about the crypto market or Bitcoin, because people who just know about the market or Bitcoin don't need to immediately act to buy some sats. Because he still needs time to understand several things related to the market and what assets are in it, even though in the end it also requires experimenting with small funds. But experiments with any amount of funds can still be done later when he already knows more about the market and all the assets in it.

Not everyone has time to teach him all she/he want to know and its already good that he know the basic things since he already get some idea about bitcoin and where he can use this coin. Also good that he came to this forum since there's a lot of guys can answer his question if he post something that bother his mind and want to know certain opinion of the people. Now its up for him if he pursue it since not everyone can really handle the pressure since starting up is very hard process for a newbie. Plus they need to deal with their investment and at earliest part of their investment they are prone to lose their money that's why they need to do a self research regarding on everything they want to learn since sometimes your own research is more important rather than those suggestion given by other people.

Yes that's true compared to learning from his friend and I think hus friend won't even taught him all she knows. Anyway, his friend didn't do it and suggested to join this forum and that means OP will find the information himself instead of just taking information from his friend although there's nothing wrong with asking information or knowledge from a friend or someone but if you do it all of the time or most of the time then that person will become lazy to do his/her own research. In short, that person will become dependent to someone.

great that his friend suggested to join this forum and not force him to learn things from him. just roaming around and educating yourself about this market, will assist him on what decisions he needs to make. he doesn't need to purchase btc on his first week or couple of weeks knowing about this market. but if he ever buy some sats, better try it with small funds first and see where it leads him as he navigates the world of crypto.

You should be the one who will decide whether you invest or not and you should think that what your friend has told you is an advice for you on what to do. If you don't choose a secure wallet, it can be risky to hold your bitcoins for long term. Almost as we say "Not Your Keys, Not Your Coins" If you are new you should learn it. but if your amount is less then you choose temporarily any bitcoin wallet or top class exchange wallet but definitely need a safe bitcoin wallet for long term and big investment.

I don't recommend newbies to buy Bitcoins when you're still acquiring knowledge because of the fact that you might not ready for the things to happen with your investment especially with how volatile Bitcoin is, but I guess you have a friend that will guide you through that so... yeah good luck with your investment journey.

TBH, I envy those people who have friends who are also investing into Bitcoin, and other types of investment as well. I don't have any friends that's also investing into crypto. I don't see anybody around me who's investing into different types of assets which is kind of frustrating (a little). It's good for you that you have a friend that will guide you.
