Investing in bitcoin right after learning about it is not a good idea. You are in this forum to learn about the bitcoin so learn about its fundamentals and how you can store it securly. Also it is important to get familiar with some basic information about the bitcoin market and get to know why everyone is talking about bitcoin these days. All this information is available outside of this forum but if you want to get some unbiased content then this forum is the right place for you to start your bitcoin journey.

That registration process happened to many people here in the forum. This is one the largest forum for interaction in the internet so many usernames are used so if it happened in that way then you have to try another name until the forum software accept it.

To acquire k knowledge on bitcoin is very simple if only you are ready to learn. Since you are newcomer to bitcoin and newbie in the forum there is one thing you must know. You have to wear thick skin because there are some comments that will offend you and you don't have to react to them negatively.

Rushing to buy bitcoin in your first week of discovering about it could be dangerous. Not because bitcoin investment is bad, but because the security and privacy of your coin are more important than the investment itself in bitcoin. Without adequate understanding on how to secure your bitcoin and keep your seed phrase safe, you cannot have full control of your bitcoin and can be vulnerable to attack from scammers who could easily steal your coins.

This is not an investment you should hurry into, instead, take your time and learn the principles of it, its benefits and cons, and most importantly, how the market works because it is volatile and may affect your mental or emotional health if you are not well prepared for it.

You are barely just 5days old on this forum, and yet I can see a great improvement in your posting pattern, which is quite astonishing and encouraging, which is one of the benefits people get when they get introduced into the forum by an already existing experience forum member, unlike us we came to this forum confused within our first one month, and went about hunting bounty while forgetting what actually brought me to the forum to add value to discussion until a certain day when I realize the need to adding value to the forum.

When you make your first buy, make sure that your bitcoin is sent back to a non custodial wallet, you can learn about cold storages and other wallet types that are non custodial wallets, make everything private to yourself alone as it is expected of you to totally avoided any third party influence on what you do.

Nice, happy to have you on here newbie, I am not so sure you already know much about crypto but I can tell it's a better choice for choosing Bitcoin, my advice is let Bitcoin be your biggest holding, since you are talking about other altcoins as well, because altcoins are not as reliable as Bitcoin.

Do your own research on other coins apart from Bitcoin, majority of other coins are scam, and also I do hope you know which crypto wallet to use for storing your assets, some are bad choices, stay away from any closed source and custodial wallets, they won't give you access to your private keys or recovery phrases, even if they do they also have access to your fund and they can steal from you.

If you have the money you can buy a Trezor hardware wallet, if not, you should download an Electrum wallet from their official website, and make sure you keep your recovery seed to yourself only.

Before you buy a bitcoin, I hope you have full knowledge of keeping it safe. By that I mean how to keep it under your watch where you have the private keys with you or the seed phrase as back up. You should never in anyway live your bitcoin on any exchange. You can use the exchange but as soon as you are done buying it, withdraw it from the exchange and take it to your personal wallet you have set up and make sure the private keys or seed phrase is well protected.

The forum is big enough for you to understand anything related to bitcoin, you can ask any questions, people with the reply will answer you swiftly if they know the answer.

I will advise you this after purchasing your first Bitcoin, do not keep them with centralised exchange. Download a good wallet as recommended and remove your coin from exchange. Do not click links sent to your mail and social media handles. Do not use your wallet for airdrops. Nobody should request for your key phrase and you give to them. Note that your key phrase is your personal property and access to your assets. Be careful how you keep it.
