Although you do have some valid points in terms of the ability of the creators and founders to remain anonymous regardless of it's popularity is a question to really ponder upon. But I doubt it is the brainchild of FBI or some other intelligence body, security experts can easily do such. We can easily look at Buterin and Ethereum, the idea of smart contracts although not his but his implementation using blockchain is completely genius. If not for the fact that we know he's the brain behind Ethereum, such an argument could easily be made also.

In some sense Bitcoin was created by US security services, because they have made significant contributions to Bitcoin's underlying technologies - modern cryptography and the Internet. If you don't trust some technology just becomes it comes from the US government, you should stop using anything digital altogether.

What really matters is that Bitcoin is open source software, and thousands of experts have already verified it and didn't find any backdoors. Who made Bitcoin is irrelevant, because you don't need to trust its creator(s).

Is this a stereotype post. Why do you tell Bent on placing intelligent ideas on the US, the US is a recognisable country of the world but bitcoin did not originate from there it's just a figment of your imagination.

What kind of intelligence would they gather with an anonymous type of currency?

not that much

they could get a massive stake in a new currency, provided they did a good job of making it attractive to adopters

I believe that it's been established that Bitcoins isn't as anonymous as we were previously led to be that's why, many people are using the services of bitcoin mixers to make their transactions as anonymous as they can be.

There is nothing to discuss big on this, what if CIA or FBI has created it. Are they gonna threaten us, this is simply unwanted discussion. What we have got is an advancing technology, nothing to correlate with CIA, FBI or Military. Only thing is that governments might keep everyone under their control same as the banking system does at present.

Bitcoin was probably created by the NSA.

Bitcoin's emergence and conception has been fairly transparent and well documented (apart from satoshi's identity, obviously).

The work that preceded and laid the foundation of Bitcoin (hashcash, bit gold, etc) is no secret either and happened independently of any government agencies (often even going as far as opposing governmental interference).

As such it's highly unlikely that Bitcoin was created by any such agency.

But then again maybe that's what the chemtrails make me believe.

What if Bitcoin was actually created by the CIA, or FBI, US Military to gather some intelligence? This weird imagination has been lingering in my brain because Bitcoin has all the signatures of what the USA Intelligence can create, Similar to the way they have created things in the past.

1. No one has ever created something as big and enormous as Bitcoin and chooses to remain anonymous. The temptation is always too strong for a mortal human being to resist.

2. I am of the opinion that Bitcoin is too complex to be the handwork of one man or few persons. And how it was quickly accepted and distributed shows the evidence of complex and thorough planning, too thorough, and too complex to fit into one brain Roll Eyes

3. How the founders identities were carefully concealed from beginning to the end, without any trace. You will agree with me that only intelligence professional can achieve that level of privacy and anonymity.

And you know, they won't make noise about it until they have gathered enough intelligence. Or may never say anything about it forever, just using it secretly for their purpose. What do you think? Have you ever reasoned in this direction?

Wait, are you thinking the CIA, the FBI, or the US Army used bitcointalk? did they keep typing in the bitcointalk forum? satoshi attended this forum for a while, and I don't see the CIA, the FBI or the US army chatting in a forum. Another thing, you are underestimating people's intelligence, a single person could be able to create bitcoin, we can't underestimate people. As for staying anonymous, he may have been scared at first and then died without anyone knowing he created bitcoin

Yeah, I just read through those ones. They are quite different perspectives to similar question. And not everyone, including me, participated in those discussions. The questions I brought out on my own was not mentioned there too. So, it was similar titles but different questions.

what if people have already asked this question a million times already? Roll Eyes

Every questions has been asked a million times before. You either respond or keep quiet.

I generally lean towards theories (or are they technically hypotheses?) that don't get asked a million times. Say, for example, alien civilizations that transmitted their social experiment as Bitcoin on mailing lists and then hijacking devices and IPs to provide a suitably obfuscated trail leading to, if ever traced, a random identity that wasn't Satoshi.

Sometimes when I enter into a first world subconscious, I can even theorise that Bitcoin could have been created by (Abrahamaic) god himself and his second coming happened in 2009. His second ascension happened shortly after, and I hear whispers that urge me to answer my prophetic vocation.

Do you ever consider this possibility as well? I know I'm not alone.
