For sure it won't happen, the technology is evolving and there's a lot of developer out there that are investing a lot of things so I don't think that the crypto will just vanish that easily, even if the government will ban it, still crypto will exist as we are in the era in the internet world, so there's no impossible for now.

No, it makes sense at some point because some countries may ban it, for example India plans to ban bitcoin but I believe they'll change their mind, it's not beneficial in any way.
The reason bitcoin can be vanished is following: It is used for money laundering and illegal activities, so if governments decide to ban it, they'll stick with this reason. But you know what will happen? Bitcoin may vanish but there will be something better and safer than bitcoin for such things and it will be 100x hard for them to detect and vanish so at least in near future they won't make any moves to my mind and so we can say that it doesn't make sense to vanish crypto. Btw it's still good thing to discuss, like when I read others' opinions.

"Nothing will last forever" whoever said that. I don't know if bitcoin will last forever. No one knows yet maybe 500 years from now someone will create a coin better than BTC. Or probably a catastrophic event destroying all gadgets in the world including all the miner's devices. Whatever happens.

If crypto vanishes, I guess we can go back to fiat again we haven't completely throw it away anyway. We still use fiat today.

Even though what you're stating is impossible to happen, I think that would start a chaos and a great depression to many. Those that was built with the help of crypto would definitely collapse and the world economy will surely be affected too. Imagine investing your time and effort, even almost the half of your lifetime for it, then it suddenly vanishes, that would totally be destructive for sure. The whales will be the most affected ones considering the amount they are holding at the moment but still other investors would feel the effect too.

It is the opposite the whales will be the ones that are the less affected by all of this, they may lose some of their money that is true, but many of them got their coins at the beginning when bitcoin was not worth much and they have cashed out a significant amount of their bitcoin and they are living a life of luxury, the ones that will be the most affected are people like us, people that are not rich but that have put their time and money in bitcoin expecting for the day it will be finally globally adopted only to be disappointed if it vanished.

But we can't count on some new invention in some near future, look how longer fiat lasted, I bet that crypto will last for decades before they invent something new, and that new will probably be connected with blockchain in some way, so I agree that we will find something new to have fun with if cryptocurrencies vanish from the face of the earth. Chances for that to happen are very low, I can't imagine what actions can lead to that outcome.

yes, that is indeed impossible, but if that happens then of course there will be many people who lose money. to be honest, i can't imagine the chaos that will definitely happen when a bad event like that happens in the future, but certainly everyone who loses money when it happens will create a group to finally find a solution that will at least be fought together

of course this will not be possible. but if that happens it will certainly be detrimental to many people and not only the big players who feel the loss of a lot of money but investors from the middle class will also certainly feel frustrated if it happens.

With this kind of question in particular I started to think about my hodlings and prepare myself for the worst scenario that could happen one day if I open my wallet and see my balance got empty or the whole cryptocurrency network got compromised. Though, being pessimistic do really help us to prepare our emotional status, and to help, we could apply our knowledge about gambling here. Invest what you could afford to lose. I never did. But now you gave me something to think about although I doubt it will ever happen.

So let us just assume there is a .01 percent for it to happen. (that is already a large amount)
If it does, then those money will be lost forever. Lucky to those exchanges which already cash amount a huge chunk of it.
They can close down with a good profit and just give your employees something like a forced termination fee. Grin

Those who are hating with fiat and banking system will back again. They don't have choice because cryptocurrency will be vanished if ever. And I think there is a new existing industry that will rise up when crypto declines. But in current condition, it is impossible to happen because the trend is in crypto even there are numerous scam but people wanted to support it.
