actually it already happened to me as well when it comes gambling and i think it's been 3 times. but i didnt give up because you know its just a normal scenario and very unpredictable indeed. For me the best thing to do afterwards is to relax a little bit wherein just to refresh your mind sit. Rather than lossing hope because it just a game, what i mean you still have an opportunity to regain your losses on it especially if you have more efforts. Assuming I were to win the next bet or I had misplaced my ticket, isn't it obvious I would feel really bad? I would regret for some days and then move on with my life.
I know a person who always played the same numbers on the lottery, and as it usually is in life the time he didn't play all numbers are come up. Since I know most of the numbers (see ticket many times), I was sure he is win something that day, but he was really out of luck. I think it pretty much hit him, but after a while, he recovered and started playing again.

The first feeling that I would get it would be depression. But this is going to happen only for a minute.

Honestly, by just imagining it I'd still felt regretful, it more likely the luck is already in my hand yet it slipped away. It is quite rare to happen to hit a jackpot as a matter of fact it only happen once of our lifetime hence this will be definitely a BIG LOSS. Some others say that it is fine since they can manage their emotion but still if it really comes this will be shaken up their emotions and goes to the point that they will not able to control it.
My emotions always kick in when I miss something big and I beat myself pretty hard (with quotes of course). In time I have learned to manage at some level my emotions but I still have a lot more work to do to master this skill of controlling emotions. It is not just in gambling but in anything.. For example I still regret not being more knowledgeable and invest in Bitcoin when it was still in its swaddling band
