What is a big difference between ICO (Initial Coin Offering) and IEO (Initial Exchange Offering)? Huh

the main difference between ICO and IEO is the 3rd party involving between the investors and ICO company.
IEO is running in the exchange, as a 3rd party connecting between investors and the ICO.
It is just like using escrow to transact between 2 sides.

I don't think there is a big difference
For IEO
  • Fraud will be slightly reduced in the IEO because every project in the IEO will definitely be investigated in advance by the exchange
  • The targeted funds will not be too large because there are no marketing costs, only the cost of holding an IEO at the exchange

For ICO
  • There will be a lot of fraud because anyone is free to make an ICO project using fake data
  • Targeted funds will be very large, because fraudsters want to get as much money, but the reason is to cover marketing costs

The biggest difference between IEO and ICO is the place of sale. If the ICO is held on the ICO website, then it is not with the IEO. The IEO sells it on the Exchanger website. And the IEO coin will be directly on the listing after the sale is complete. Unlike ICO, which sometimes delays the listing time.

the biggest difference might be in terms of supervision. if in ico there is no one who verifies the project who wants to sell the token, on the contrary with the new project IEO who wants to do the sale of the token it must first verify. exchange acts as a mediator to supervise new projects that want to seek funding.

The biggest difference at all is that crypto has become a cash grabber. Both are just scams made to grab money from others without any effort (and without any working utility after all). The initial idea of crypto currency was distorted, and now, is rare to see an announcement of something that doesn't have a premine, a dev fee, a reward for the founders, or anything like that, created to make an easy profit for whoever is behind it.

A crypto currency must be community driven, not centralized around a team that use its creation to self fund themselves from a "forced" way. If it's good enough, people will voluntarely fund it by donations. ICOs are just very specific ideas with no utility (and most of them with no working product at all), made to make a fast buck to their owners (which are also the, kek, coin or token issuers most of the time).

A crypto exchange is intended to make profits by charging a really small fee on trades, not charging listing fees (which also are inducing most of the projects today to have such bullshits like premines and dev fees), nor by offering their own useless tokens in those IEOs.

That's not what crypto was made for.

The big diffrent, i think is Initial exchange offering more safe because can to pervent scam, than Initial coin offering, also IEO after token sale, the project will listing in the exchange, but for ICO sometimes need time to get listed in exchange. 2019 is tren for Initial Exchange Offering.

I think that one of the differences between IEO and ICO is that exchanges are actively promoting their IEO. If the project is released on the IEO on a large stock exchange, then there are more chances that this coin will be traded on this  exchange.

The era of ICOs has ended  as they were not regulated and many investors were scammed by them. IEOs are supervised by exchanges and they select only high potential projects . They still not guarantee that the project will be profitable but the investors confidence has been regained by IEOs as the first results shows.

What is a big difference between ICO (Initial Coin Offering) and IEO (Initial Exchange Offering)? Huh

the big difference between ICO (Initial Coin Offering) and IEO (Initial Exchange Offering) is if the IEO then investors can immediately get coin from the project and while the ICO, investors must wait in advance until the ICO is finished to get coin from investment in the project and in my opinion the IEO is more transparent, because we can see directly the transaction and volume activities of the IEO, if the volume is high then many are interested to investing in the project, so I will invest in the project too Grin.

What big difference maybe is how people think about it. Because when investor feel IEO is better, they will pick it. In fact actually IEO is give a lot of advantages for users and then it is more popular for now.

The only difference is that IEO sales are in the exchanges. And in terms of security, IEOs are one step higher. But this is not the reason for being successful. IEOs are just like a trend.

What is a big difference between ICO (Initial Coin Offering) and IEO (Initial Exchange Offering)? Huh
I think both of them are the same, the difference is the way to raise funds. if ico is done directly by the project team, while the IEO is done more Exchange. overall it makes no difference, and I don't think this is different from the start.

What is a big difference between ICO (Initial Coin Offering) and IEO (Initial Exchange Offering)? Huh
I think the difference is how they handle KYC. with IEO verification, we do it by exchange so investors don't have to worry about data security issues. compared to ICOs that are too vulnerable to fraud, the IEO gives investors a sense of security.

I think the biggest difference is the scam, Scam is the biggest problem ICO faces but with the IEO it is no longer a big deal.

In theory that should be the case because exchanges should make sure that only reputable projects come to their launchpad. But since IEOs are the hottest sh** right now with dozens of exchanges out there competing with each other, I wouldn't be so sure that every of these exchanges is doing their research properly.

There is no big difference between ICO and IEO, it's just a term. ICO (Initial Coin Offering) is a general term and IEO (Initial Exchange Offering) is the specific term for a start-up exchange to issue their token. Binance as we already knew, they issued their exchange token without named it IEO but ICO.

There can be IEOs that can be a scam, the difference is that they are just listed to an exchange already so still keep an eye for those kind of projects.

Ico = independent and all of the control hold by the developers itself. but if you are seeing IEO and the full control of the funds already acquired by the exchange site that try to help the team to get the funds from the investors and that looks very simple to do that.
That's the only differences.

The main difference between them is that initial EXCHANGE offering offers the same mechanism as an initial coin offering, but IEO also provides a guarantee that after the token sale ends, those tokens are going to be listed there.

The only notable difference there is control. At ICO, the developers have control of the coin and process. At IEO, the exchange team is in control. The recent increase in confidence is as a result trust in the reputable exchanges

I think the exchange acts as a guarantor. Ie the project must provide all the documentation to the exchange. Let's say it is interesting if the guarantor is Binanse but how much it will be popular will soon find out.
