Altcoin is alternativecoin which means coin-coin other than bitcoin. The purpose of making this altcoin is to cover the weakness of bitcoin is the limitations of the amount of bitcoin in circulation that is only about 22 million coins only, then altcoin was made. Until now there are about 150 altcoin on the market with varying prices, there are even altcoin prices that exceed the bitcoin price itself either 2x fold, 3x fold, even 10x fold. But a lot of altcoins are very small.

Altcoin stands for alternative coin wherein altcoins serve as secondary coins or optional coins which investor have a choice to choose coins because some of altcoins are cheaper in prices than bitcoin because bitcoins are so very expensive coin and without altcoins, cryptocurrency world is nothing because, investor don't have an option to choose coins to invest.

Bitcoin is the first of it's kind so no matter how many are the new coins existing in the future, they're all called altcoins because Bitcoin is the only coin that exist in the crypto market until today and altcoins are those next on the list of Crypto blockchain in the world market.

For now, we're not yet certain which altcoin will survive through time, since it we notice, everyday, new coins are made but only few remains. But, we should not be discouraged in investing to altcoins, just like Bitcoin, it also started from below and rise from among others. So, only time will know. Let's have as much as we can.

Altcoin is used to have bitcoin buy trading it or through exchange. Without altcoin, it will be hard for the new ones to earn without investment because few participants are being accepted when joining signature campaign. Without bitcoin, there is no altcoin because bitcoin is the foundation of all cryptocurrencies.

Altcoin is a dummy. Dummy is an imitation of the original. Altcoin is built on a framework that imitate the success of bitcoin. These altcoins are launched to offer modifications in areas like privacy, proof of stake and many more to address the shortcomings and limitation of bitcoin. However, these are just a way to call bitcoin in another name but in the end it will be converted back to bitcoin. Bitcoin is a digital currency acceptable to a wider network that offers a wider acceptance in the coin market.
