It's just a normal correction in price after weeks of big price increases. These cryptocurrencies will have price fluctuation especially while they are relatively new to investors.

Corrections will happen after long runs of gains. The price rises to high too quickly but the drop is a good time to buy cheaper coins. The problem is predicting the bottom of the dip.

Its because bitcoin's price has an indirect effect on altcoins as well I suppose. Many people directly trade btc to altcoins. This months bubble and dump of bitcoin might have been the reason for indirectly affecting altcoin prices.

It is simple just like that , but still really hard to put a buy position while you are in fear.

Well, I ussually use 50% Balance to buy altcoin and trading everyday, but hold 50% for wait the price on market down all. Just wait and I can take profit 10-50% after that. I think in one week maybe have 1 or 2 times breakdown price all, and just wait that for buying cheap price

That might work too and similar to having a backup funds right?
To anticipate something you don't want , something unexpected like what is happening recently in altcoin market.
You have to prepare yourself for the worst scenario , as while you waiting instead the price recoved it is keep dropping deeper.

Indeed, that's a great chance to grab your bag and buy cheap altcoins because there are a chance to get bubbled and pump up later. Although, it may take longer time because panic sell or big whales dump this coin.

To the old ATH (~1200) we are barely up 2x! The altcoins are up 10x, 20x, 30x, 100x.And they have almost no real use cases or advantages to Bitcoin! In addition to that are all those crazy ICO scams! When that 2 bubbles (altcoin and ICOs) burst, this could mean a massive slingshot for Bitcoin and push it up $10000! Then we can speak about a bubble in BTC! Take Bitcoin's long term chart, zoom out in log scale and compare the actual situation to the precious bubbles in 2013, 2012 and 2011!

People are just too much speculating without seeing the fact that this dump is really a normal thing, maybe they're worrying their money which still trapped in form of those coins which were dumped but actually it's not.
The circumstance is really different with few years ago that once the dump occur, people will sell their whole bitcoin in exchange of USD, today, when the dump just occur, people are seeing this as an opportunity to get a cheap coin and waiting for the upcoming price increase, you can see that the dump doesn't last long.

I also noticed that too. The crash is typically short lived now. Unlike before that when the panic selling starts, it usually go down very fast and stay for very long. But now, only just a couple days and it will just stopped and the price will also recovered very quick. I guess people find this a perfect opportunity to buy back bitcoin.

Previously btc was stuck at a much lower rate and i think people have just gotten used to the consistent price rise of btc that's why some are not at ease anymore of whether to still hold on to their bitcoins. Though i think by the end of thia year, bitcoin may still have a couple of good runs and can reach beyond the 3k boarder at a more consisntent rate just like how we are today at 2.3 to 2.5k

Yes there is no 20 to 35% down in Bitcoin price. Once it reached the tip of $3k but immediately it came back to normal price. Actually, we are in big profit now. According to all people guessing the BTC price will reach $2k this year end. But our good we got that opportunity very soon. So I don't feel that any big changes happened in BTC price.

that may work with bitcoin and on rare occasions on bigger altcoins but generally speaking when it comes to altcoins and the dumps, any position there is like catching a falling knife!
you are underestimating the power of panic selling. you can take a look at bitcoin and see how powerful that is. it caused a big drop from $2900+ to $2100. you can't imagine what that is going to do to a tiny altcoin who nobody believes in!

This is pretty normal for the all coins in the market to experience loss because there is what we called panic selling where the people panics when they see a huge dump in the price and they just selling their coins even they are selling it for a lower price and getting such a big loss. Most of the panic sellers are newbies or they don't have any strong knowledge about this kind of market so they are just confused to their investments.

i think that the causes the altcoins down, traders safe their coins in fiat money, and dump of altcoins are good
