I don't know exactly, but right now it is the most bullish I've ever seen it. There was a time when DASH and ETH were a few dollars, and when they hit 20 I thought they were over valued, but clearly they're still going. I don't think it's crypto gaining a wider appeal, but rather a few people with too much money finding a new hobby.

Bitcoin is experiencing it era where every four year it has a certain limit if that limit reach the demand would go up and then the price will also go up but when the era ended the bitcoin price will go down again this time we have the era of bitcoin.

We are experiencing the race of the cryptos,it's hard to predict when it will come to an end but for now it's on a good run, that's all I know. The rise of BTC has been fuelling this crypto bum and for me personally there is a good chance that this trend will continue for quite some time

i think in this year, cryptocurrencies is become famous because there is many people is trying to get involve in cryptocurrencies world and many of them trying to join and invest with some coins. i think it will make crypto currency growth more and i hope that in future, we can see that crypto currencies can be used in many country especially in the develop country and young age will know and used crypto currencies too like what we do now. there are many benefits from crypto currencies that we still don't know and we need to learn more so we can take the benefits for us and for other people.

There are many cryptocurrencies will come. Some are scam coin and some are good coin and because there are many altcoins coming it will affect the average profit of someone because of market volume will be divided to many altcoins. The transaction also is becaming slow and I really don't why it is happening.

Just like the stockmarket. It is in a bull run.

Investors buying cheap coins -> price up -> intelligence people buying -> price up -> idiots seeing price going up starts buying -> investors and intelligence people dump on the idiots -> price plummets.

Just like the stockmarket. It will become a bear run.

Wait roughly a year then repeat.
I'm actually really interested in comparing Bitcoin's current performance to other trends that we see in the fiat markets now, I'm enjoying looking for signals and observing the trends the market comes up with, and when it comes to long-term data it's a weird graph since we had 2013, followed by the nothingness of 2015, followed by the excitement end 2016 till now. Maybe some real trends will make themselves apparent sometime soon, but for now it's a guessing game.

I kind of hope we see a bear run in the future, now I just got to find some websites where I get to do a lot of shorting.

lol the title is misleading the topic is not related to cryto currencies it's just an image of bitcointalk having some kind of error.
But i think altcoins nowadays are doing just fine their price value is even soaring up especially ETH, dash, Doge, i guess this is because of bitcoin scaling.

Bitcoin
Bitcoin is the king, and will stay the king..  It's a brand, the first, it's Gold 2.0
Many altcoin have a lot of utility, and may become widely used by banks, govs and corps for various type of applications, making things better for everyone.. Welcome the the Information age evolution of the humanity.

But, IMHO, Bitcoin will still be THE GOLD 2.0

What you see is one of the game theories in action, first find a coin with $0.1 price and then start accumulating in 6 months slowly to avoid the price from going higher than $2 and when you got hold of %70 of total supply then start the heavy pump like pumping the price up to $5 and as well secretly advertise, then after people and specially the unsuspected and naive newbies see such an increase they will automatically start buying in because of the famous FOMO.

From there all you gotta do is to maintain the balance, which would be not dumping a lot and create a resistance wall to keep front image so well to even lure some whales and after all of that you've got yourself suddenly a $20 worth per coin and after that it's up to you if you want to dump all or just half the %70 you are holding.
That is called market manipulation and when you state such a fact you'll see smart ass people going trying to replicate the scenario and as a result you can see all kinds of shitcoins pumping together but because of the lack of the funds they fail miserably in the middle.

@jonald_fyookball i think btc has, best case, time untill end of autumn >the end of year to scale. Beyond that, there's like 75% it will be replaced by ETH ( if eth's development continues, ofc ). There's too much adoption in other cryptocurrencies, especially ethereum, for bitcoin's hype to work anymore. "Digital gold" and "store of value" will become "silver to bitcoin's gold", a shit meme for stupid people.

More and more people are getting aware that with "1st in crypto" and lame meme's you can't hold the first spot forever.

Well to be honest I more believe in bitcoin rather than ETH and it is not that easy to ask people to switch to ETH, ETH itself ever forked and lost it's value, so I don't really can put my trust in ETH, the power of bitcoin is in the user hand , even if it scales but there are still a lot of user then bitcoin still will be number 1, the main reason why I think bitcoin still can't be replace by ETH is I still hasn't see any sign of store accepting ETh as payment, so it's mean ETh still need time to be implemented

No, diversify based on what you think has most profit potential. Example: some people think xrp is linked to ripple and they buy xrp. Some think ltc is silver to bitcoin gold, and invest in that. Some think etc is just a cheaper and better ethereum, and they invest in that.

That's just my opinion. Unless bitcoin change and scale or something bad happens to ethereum, the trend is pretty clear. At this pace, in 3-6 months flippening will happen. But don't get me wrong, if bitcoin crash in a panic exit, a big part of it's value might burn down, therefore delaying eth's growth since 50% of eth's trade is done in btc.

so you think i should put all of my bitcoin wealth into ethereum? that's possibly the least tempting idea i've heard all day. it looks like i'll be heading back to dollars because at least i have some trust in them.

they are slowly creeping towards moon

kind of unavoidable, because there is nothing that do the things the cryptos do and few people use it now

Everyone knows BTC is king so everyone will return back home

This was true up till now... but if Bitcoin will stay the king is more in doubt than ever.  That was the point of the meme.

There is always a chance that some altcoin, either new or old to take over Bitcoins place.  Though it may not happen today since Bitcoin community is still strong but the tendency of a community to move to a more technical advance and less dramatic more profitable coin is always there.  Besides it is the profit that these people are in bitcoin so if ever another altcoin gives them that opportunity then these people will move towards this altcoin.
I think for now its impossible that those altcoin will bitcoin can change place. since bitcoin is more useful and many merchant are accepting it unlike those altcoin with slow development.. even they are advance than in bitcoin people are still staying in bitcoin if this is more reliable to use and more convenient.
Look at other country like brazil and paris that accept bitcoin as payment..
Altcoins suffer when it comes to their position in the crypto market because they significantly lack a community willing to spend money on it in the same way that users in the Bitcoin community are willing to invest in Bitcoin. At least, that's what I'm concluding from other users' comments and looking at the market.
Bitcoin has the advantage of being first, and everything else essentially followed it by 4-6 months or longer. Merchant started to use Bitcoin, people used it to make money and buy things, so more vendors started to use it, etc.

Interesting that not a single poster so far shares my concern.  I guess you will need to see a bear market first.

i think it's inevitable myself. and it's time people stopped treating the market as entirely one thing. it's slowly splintering into areas that'll do their own thing independent of each other.

but i also believe alts are in an insane bubble backed by less than nothing whereas bitcoin currently is not. if you're worried about a bitcoin bear market, i think a genuine alt bear market will be stunning to watch.

Yes... oh yes. I'll be waiting to buy at the bottom.

we already have an example of that divergence. the alt rise last year was incredible too while bitcoin basically sat there and did pretty much nothing the whole way through.
