It represents the company or platform that you are promoting not only the avatar but the signature in your profile, the advantage of having an avatar and signature on your profile means you have been hired to promote a project that you applied for.
You are getting paid as long as you have it and in exchange for being active here in Bitcointalk, it's a privilege and a reward, both the forum and the members benefit from projects using this feature, you get paid monthly and the forum is populated by topics related to its niche in the case of Bitcointalk, all topics are Cryptocurrency related.

Avatars carry the companies name, signatures do so too but with a direct link to the website, making things easy for whoever wants to access it. The only difference between them is that with the avatar whoever is searching has to do a little extra work to get the website (though some avatars even have the direct website on it, but you can't click it), and you just to type it in your browser, avatars are a good way to advertise, and people who are not lazy can easily find the website.

This is one place the avatar gets its usefulness. Most times it aids me search for my posts in threads or other users I'm searching their posts in threads. You can wearing signature code right now in your account but due Member level not allowed for uploading or use avatar in your Bitcointalk profile, if you want wear avatar have push your account to Full Member level and under this level can't wearing avatar.

You get paid while when you out on a campaign signature or avatar, you can also do that for free for either yourself or any other person you which to take on promotional offer, but one of the reasons the campaign managers always encourage to remove the signature when a campaign is paused is in other for them to get paid whenever they are ready to kick on back but if everyone keeps wearing the signature campaign or avatar, they may not run the campaign again and pay it participant since they were already wearing their signatures and avatar.

indeed, advertising for signature campaigns will be better because only one click will direct us to the intended site. a similar system seems to exist in social media ads that we often encounter today on our smartphones. see an image or video and when we click on it, we will be directed directly to the destination site.

both ways are still good marketing methods. and on the forum, we are lucky to get the opportunity to advertise with the space provided in our account.

Avatar and signature are intended to spread visibility about the project or service being advertised even if one of them requires the user to obtain a link to the site in question. While signature are ideal for helping users find sites quickly due to the availability of links within them. The point is equally to spread visibility among forum users though signatures are more ideal. Another thing that serves the same purpose is personal text, that space can also be utilized.

Avatars, signatures, personal text and other spaces can be used for advertising space, but not all users are willing to use them for advertising space even if they can make money.

Yeah, there are free-to-wear/ pro bono ones as well but custom made designs might cost you a pretty penny if you want someone with skills to make one.

I can say yes for signatures but not for avatars. Since avatars don't have links, I wonder how the services they're meant to promote get visibility. I'm referring to avatar only campaigns, not those that combine avatar with signature campaigns because investors can simply click on signatures and get the information or web addresses they want.

The team that performs better will get more sponsorship.

Same thing with ID. If you are at a significant rank in the forum, you can join different signature campaigns and the signature campaigns you join have specific codes that are on your profile. You have to add so that if you post various things, you will promote all those signature campaigns through you. This is the work of adding an avatar to your profile.

Wearing the signature and avatar of a company or casino shows that you are advertising the company and also promoting them. Most new company who are into bitcoin comes into the forum and seek for forum members to help them advertise their company and the services which they render,so that they can get new customers. In doing this there is always a reward for the ads and promotion. Automatically it means that your signature space is for rent and is a means of making income in the forum. While some forum users does this ads and promotion voluntarily. Avatar is optional and on this you can put whatever avatar you like to use if you don't care about renting your signature space.

Many above have tried to answer your question properly, but I think that First of all, no one has a correct answer to the question you have asked. Most signatures and avatars are used to promote a campaign. But there are few signatures that people like Bitcointalk use.

It is a campaign or advertisement. Different casinos or online gambling sites run different signature campaigns for their online campaigns. And those signature campaigns have certain signature codes and avatars that need to be added to the profile and posted in different sections. When you post a specific project's avatar or signature code in different sections, through your post, those online casinos or gambling sites will attract the attention of different users and they will enter those sites and conduct their specific activities. Basically, various projects are promoted through signature code or avatar.
