crypto is too unpredictable in the way for being far-sighted so investors should not be sure in their investments at all. I think that it is the general difference.
With the issuance of securities token, the similarities are increasing while the differences decreasing.
Most of the difference would lie on the time period and rules of trading.

The main different is crypto's being anonymous. I consider that it is the strongest advantage of crypto because it gives too much opportunities.
Of course, they both have common trends and similarities, but the operation of the crypto market is very much different from the stock market. When you invest in stock, you invest in a company, but when you invest in cryptocurrency, you invest in a currency independent of the company. Major key points are 1. User Base and Revenue 2. Price Volatility and 3. Recovering Hacked Assets. The last one is a really big issue nowadays that cryptocurrencies are vulnerable to being hacked compared to stock.

Stock and Crypto are something similar in the risk level,we can have good profits based on how much risk we are taking.But crypto invstments are much easier and any one can buy crypto currencies and hold it to have profits and basic system knowledger or android mobile user can do that.But stock is not for everyone it needs extensive analytic skills and lot of common knowledge because many factors will affect the stock value so we can los our value whenever something bad happen at any corner of the world. Stocks are well established while crypto is in it's infancy stage. Crypto is very volatile while stocks aren't. Stocks are safer investment than crypto but crypto can give you crazy gains than stocks.

For me, in the stock market you actually invest in the company or you have a part in the ownership. While in the cryptocurrency market you invest in the technology or the currency itself.
The biggest difference is stock have real companies behind them that already generating revenue and you own the company proportionally to the amount of shares you have while in crypto you invest in an idea that something will become big in the future and you don't own the project, you only buy coin that can be used in the project ecosystem.

In stock exchange it is been setup and controlled by central body, they put in place some rules guiding the market and in some cases you require paper work, so the stock market is been regulated, but crypto is a free market, anyone all round the world can enter the market, no paper work required, no rules, it's just a free market that's the reason why crypto is a volatile market.
While cryptocurrency us very volatile it can be easily entered by anyone with almost any range of capital, also in a technical stand point cryptocurrency is very hard to predict that us why the margin of error of most experienced traders in the crypto industry is a but high compared to stock traders. In the stock market it is much the risk are much more minimal as it can be easily predicted by the news of the companies that you put your stock into along with that it does have a steady growth, but it is not easily accessed by most people unless you go to a stock broker and the capital for it is quite high.
Crypto is not stock, most are utility tokens but definetely not a security so the value of most new coins are mostly speculative, they are bubble.
