Without anyone knowing your name or address?
you could sell your bitcoins here for a wire transfer or something, also try localbitcoins. or you could just buy stuff online that you need with bitcoin.

Localbitcoins or a bitcoin atm (if available in your place). The former option needs you to meet someone physically and trade face-to-face. You don't need to give him/her anything about you, just setup a place where you two would meet. The latter is as easy as scanning a qr code and wait for the cash to come out of the machine.
The buyer won't know your name but Localbitcoins will. To be able to sell on localbitcoins, you need to give them your id and have it verified. So someone will know your name which is not what OP wants.

The best way to cash out is when you are doubling your money, as a example you should wait till its on the right price for you and than sell it, mostly that is just the best thing you can do because of the fact that the bitcoin can go up or down very fast.

If I have to cash out my coins then I would prefer to transfer it to my bank account and for that I think localbitcoin is the best place as the traders are trusted and it takes few minutes for credits.

When I need to cash out, I use kraken. Just deposit your bitcoin there and request a bank transfer to your own account.
Usually it takes just 1 day (SEPA)

...

Another way to cash out would be to buy gold with your Bitcoin.  I have done that a few times, but my timing was not the best (my last gold for BTC purchase was w/ BTC at $691).

That would not preserve anonymity (gold sellers have to ship it to you...), but it IS a way out of BTC.

providentmetals.com has given me excellent service, I have read good reviews on jmbullion too.

Without anyone knowing your name or address?

If you're talking about bitcoin to fiat cashout, then try localbitcoins. Completely anonymous and you can either deal face to face with another person or online. Both are safe if you deal with a reputable person.

You are protected by the localbitcoins escrow as well, so no worries.

does nobody else have any thing else to say apart from localbitcoins ?

localbitcoins is really of no use if you are looking to cash out when price is high or for cashing out any decent amount

(too many satflaps commenting here IMHO)

Without anyone knowing your name or address?

actually if you want to have this level of privacy, then i have bad news for you as almost all ways will need either your name, your bank info or your adress  i think

you can meet with someone in real life and sell bitcoins to him, or you can buy steam games and then sell to someone, though these ways aren't best one that you can do

Most of the countries dont have local shops where you can cash out bitcoins. I would prefer localbitcoin site to find the buyer from your country and then selling him. If you dont want cash, you can directly purchase goods online and this could protect your privacy also.

buying goods will require name and address
even ATM's are usually limited so much it would take an age to cash out
you will also find any traders on localbitcoins etc. are not going to give you a good rate when price is peaking high

Without anyone knowing your name or address?

1. Prepare VPN/Proxy/Tor or anything that can secure your connection
2. Register and use fake identity for verification.
3. Sell your bitcoin.
4. Withdraw your fiat money to hacked bank account or bank account with fake identity.

says the idiot who has no idea what he is talking about
and assumes things would go smoothly doing this
like exchanges have not already got policies in place for such abuse

does anyone have any idea to cash out actual significant amounts ?

instead of just saying local bitcoins, meet someone for cash blah blah.

How would you cash out say 50 bitcoin if/when price reaches $1000
localbitcoins is then not that suitable
and also how to cash out quickly when price is high before it dumps

best way to cash out bitcoins is a wallet that directly convert your coins a real money currency and transfer it to your bank
I don't think it would just allowed that and bank will not keep records of that, I know that mixing your coins to other coins will leave any transaction from that coins before.
Because it will randomly generate different coins, and will not trace your used coins before. I just still do not know if that is effective.

A kilo of heroin from a dark market and then offload it down the local school playground?
I like this one..but best one is probably coinbase?
//EDIT: just noticed you want to stay anonymous..then probably localbitcoins, you may accept paysafecard for example.

Thanks for your answer guys. I did try to order a Bitcoin creditcard, but my mistake was that I ordered two (different sites to test them out). Both had the same creditcard provider which locked me out unless I showed all kinds of documents.

I'm going to try out local bitcoins, but how do I know the money they are giving is real?

Easy, it isn't online. You will meet physically someone. Face to face. So unless you're given forged notes, or the guy in front of you is a magician, the money will be real.

I mean, how can I be sure it isn't counterfeit money
Trade with people that has a good reputation to reduce the chances of fraud. Alternatively, try using the security features (ie. watermarks, texture, quality of paper) to identify the notes. Alternatively, use a counterfeit note detector[1].

Don't ATM's require you to have a bunch of ID and things like that? They know who you are?
IDK I never used a BitCoin ATM.
Bitcoin ATM have the KYC/AML features built in and in some jurisdiction, the operator is required to enable them. There are some jurisdiction that does not require this if the amount purchased is below a specific limit. Check with the Bitcoin ATM operator.

Thanks! Good to have such a pencil.

Anyone knows how localbitcoin transactions (in person, cash) work? You meet at a public place, but what than?
