The lack of job opportunities, education and corruption are the main causes of poverty.
The personal aspects like irresponsibility, lack of motivation and low self esteem are only
secondary causes that influences individuals not to strive harder and do there best
to escape or overcome poverty in the community. In third world countries the hard
labor and cheap salaries also inflicts it's impact in the masses that diminishes the

The common cause of poverty is Corruption, lack of control in the local food,lack of access to education,population.
The main cause of cause mostly due to attitude of the people, for example, bribery and corruption on the side of government officials and individuals of the people. Also mostly hereditary from the trace of family.

Lack of natural resources education and others although there are plenty of natural and people resources still poverty is dominating because of having a corrupt leaders who only care for themselves. How great tragedy a nation has if it has the resources and more than enough to sustain the community needs if the leaders are corrupt. How great tragedy a nation has if it is poorly educated, it will only produces a huge poverty andaking the nation a beggar to others and depending on others generosity.

I believe that the common cause of poverty is lack of knowledge in every aspect.. There is enough food in this planet, but we are consuming it in a wrong way. Famers plant rootcrops like corn just to produce food for the livestock such as chicken and pig. Why don't we just consume corn more than pork and poultry? The common cause is greed, nothing else. The greed of mankind to go to other places to cheat their way to get maximum profits, and even that is not enough and keep on squeezing untill there is basically nothing left. This way the countries that caused nothing but suffering unto other countries flourished and the plundered ones got left in the dirt, and if that wasn't enough are still being used and abused. So as long as there is mankind around, poverty can never end.

there are countries where lack of proper law and order contributes to poverty. this is because there cannot be proper environment for business or work in places of no law and order. many countries in Africa, Middle east suffer from poverty due to communal violence, terrorism etc. for this the governments need to take firm steps to curb the violence. or else the common man cannot work to generate income.

You are right. Crime disproportionately affects the poor. The poor are forced to live in ghettos, where the crime rate is high, while the rich can afford to live in posh gated communities where there is no crime. In short, crime pushes the poor deeper in to poverty. And at the same time, we have human rights nuts who claim that the criminals are victims of poverty.
