You'll never know the differentiate of them if you only make a post on bounty thread (just see on your post history and most of your post only made on bounty thread). There are a lot of information what altcoin is and what bitcoin is. Just active on local board discussion or active on beginner and help and I'm sure you will know them. If you don't do that and just focus on bounty campaign you will be fooled of it. I guess the people on this forum have known the type of bounty. Don't be weird if you get nothing from it just because you are promote scam bounty even bounty campaign who pay you but the token is not worth.

Bitcoin is the King of all cryptocurrency so it is dominance and still the number one despite of thousands of crypto that is showing in the market.
Altcoins are other coins/tokens aside from Bitcoin, as simple as that. Almost all coins/tokens differs in use cases. There were altcoins that trying to be on top too but still they can't defeat Bitcoin.

Bitcoin is the very first blockchain crytocurrency ever created, the other coins named altcoins in segregation to the level of the projects from bitcoin. That's the people nature whoever do first will always be remember, unlike the one follows after that. For me not much difference in terms of tech since altcoins have known their tech or idea from bitcoin basically same use cases. But altcoin can be modified on usage they wanted to like incorporate in different real world situations.
Personally, I am still investing and will continue to invest in this market in the future because the crypto market has many good opportunities for me to make money and will always hold Bitcoin for a long time.

Anyway, let me give my own answer for your question. Bitcoin and altcoins both fall as cryptocurrency. Let's just say that btc is the pioneer and the rest is a copycat (but some of them really got interesting features tho which btc don't have).

Even if you are a newbie or beginner, I suggest you try to find out yourself first before asking.
Apart from Bitcoin and its forks(https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_bitcoin_forks), all the remaining coins and tokens are altcoins. Since BTC was the first to be created, the ones created after that are called altcoins(alternative coins).
