I am not a woman but I see that women into gambling have similar behaviors to males. They enjoy having fun, that adrenaline pumping when they win money through it. When I ask they explain me it's relaxing feeling. I always feel like women are still more into winning and after *spending* money but males just like competition. That may be the biggest difference between us. I guess that behavior may be determined by different chemical events in our brains. Hard to be sure.

What makes the desire for gambling different between women and men?
Why do women need a reason to play at casinos or betting sites?

The time has passed when this was a sexist lifestyle and do you know why?
Around the 18th century, gambling was associated with criminal activity and was therefore considered a "disorder" to society. Because of this, many games were banned, and although many wealthy men continued to play in gentlemen's clubs, it was completely banned for aristocratic women. And so it went on for many years.

But, with the breakdown of this machismo, we currently have several famous female gamblers who are much better than any male bettor and their motive is the same as that of men... to have fun or make money.

The drive that makes men go into gambling must be the same with women. They are two similar creatures, after all. Some men want to gamble to be entertained. This must also be the same with some women. Some men gamble for the sake of winning or making money. Some women must also be driven by such motives. Some men gamble to try to clear their mind from the stress related to work or relationship or whatever. These must also be the same factors that drive some women into gambling.

And, if I may add, women should be given equal opportunity when it comes to gambling and other forms of entertainment. There are countries which prohibit women from some forms of entertainment enjoyed by men. That's unfair.

although all members have already answered this question and I agree with them that the same reasons that lead men to play are the same reasons that lead women to play and although people also keep saying that there is nothing wrong with women also playing involved in gambling, in my opinion it is very important that if a person knows or knows a woman who is involved in gambling, then that person should be very attentive to this woman who is involved in gambling, this is because women They take everything they do with more feelings, and in gambling games, the more feelings we put in, the greater the size of our destruction.

Gambling is being played by men and women in the same way and the reason for women gambling are the same as the reason for any men to gamble. It varies from person to person but the major reasons can either to win money or have fun or both.

Yes, i understand that women gambling is not considered good by our society and many people think that gambling is a men/s passion but actually there is no difference of gender in gambling and since the online gambling has become popular, the many girls are involved in gambling behind the scenes.

What's the deal? Is there any something special or surprising if women got involved in gambling? Regardless of the reason why they become involved in gambling, it should be the same as how males got into it, generally in most cases. Human nature after all no matter what the gender.

I agree that gambling is also considered a form of entertainment therefore everyone is always welcome.

Might just be surprising to others if they saw females doing gambling because that is something not usual to see but again, no big deal.

I believe women go into gambling because of the same reason male does.  It may be:

• curiosity
• peer pressure
• remove stress and frustration
• have fun
• social interaction
• earn more money through winnings

Women are no different from male.  They are both human and have tendencies and likes and they have the same environment even though they have different physiques.  They both live on earth so obviously they have the same level of access on anything available here on earth.

Drive to earn more money and that is something which exists to us, not only to women. There are comparisons concerning why there are few female gamblers than male gamblers and as I’ve searched for it, the reason why there are more male gamblers is simply because they have higher risk taking trait than women.I doubt that in most instances for women who gamble, that they are influenced by other people. They’re a more curious gender than us male and for sure there are instances wherein female gamblers just learned how to, thru their initiative and curiosity.

All of them are just like you: they want to have fun and do other things on their free time. The notion that women aren't allowed to do what men do is just too outdated at this point. Perhaps they want to have fun, or want to make money from what they have right now. Whatever the case is, they have the right to gamble as they please, and the only thing we can do is to probably prevent them into going addicted by intervening early if we see signs of addiction from them.

Same drive that makes men want to gamble. I don't think there's any inherent difference when it comes to women gamblers and male gamblers, since at the end of the day gambling is not discriminative anyway, and is as inclusive as it could be. Women go into gambling for two reasons which are just as similar as their male gambler counterparts, either for profit or for a good time. More often than not though they are in it for the profit and are gambling for the sake of earning more than what they initially have at hand, could be other reasons why that was the case but desperation in times of need are just one of the things I see that could lead women into taking such drastic measures.

As like the other games,this gambling also entertain them by the gambling games.This enable the gamblers to think on their based society,because even now the women was engaged in the cooking alone.In some countries,they are not allowed to meet the male person of their family.The gambling also become the income source for the woman at all their needs,because after the gambling addiction of the male person of the society.So her family members and the gambling  addicted  won’t depend on others.

I can confidently tell you that what drives women into gambling is not very far from their male friends. Be it a boyfriend or a husband. They are the people that easily lure them into gambling. I have had a friend who always have different girlfriends and as much as he loves football and loves Sports Betting he will make sure he will introduce his girlfriend's into the same Sports Betting and before the relationship will come to an end, those girls are already into Sports Betting and discussing about football. So some girls in order to please their spouse have to engage in what their spouse are doing.

People goes to gamble for main reason, that is to earn money and increase their profits. Even women would see it as their first goal. Socializing and making new friends are just some of the little factors that make them excited to gamble. But I don't think married women are still capable of doing this. Enough for them to see their men gambling, and just consider theirselves as home buddy while taking care of their kids.

Why are we labeling gambling as something like makeup or something? There's only one reason why people would be interested in gambling in the first place, it's money. Even people who enjoy it for the thrill (such as me) originally started gambling because of the interest we had for money. Ofc I naturally devolved into just simply enjoying it but that's for the later part.

Anyhow, a LOT of things can be done to escape boredom or stress, or even experience enjoyment, it's not just gambling. I highly doubt it's even on the recommended list in the first place. While I don't disagree that it can be a reason, it can probably be said as the same for any other activity as well.

Why is it that it gives me the negative connotation when a woman goes to the casino just to "socialize"? I think that this is too much watching drama for me and I think that whatever happens there after socializing with other people remains there. I can't say that if somebody understands that because I've also watched too many videos from women of Vegas that they're coming back and forth there not just for the actual gambling but for something else. And if you still can't get that, it's more of socializing with people but looking for more intimate interaction from the other gambling guys there.

I've seen a lot of women who play "Tong-Its" (a popular card game in the Philippines) before. That game consists of three players and there are times when all of them are women. That was way back before smartphones were on the trend. Why do they do that? To kill time. Most of them are housewives who have done all their house chores in the morning and have nothing to do anymore until noon when lunch will be served. 3 - 5 hours of playing time and then go back home to eat and serve the kids. After that, an after-lunch game will be held that could last until almost dark.
That's their routine every day and I think the only drive is because there's really nothing to do inside the house anymore as they have already done everything in the morning. Plus, it gives them the time for gossip while playing small blinds. 

Gambling is considered a negative gaming activity for some people and when women play gambling, it becomes something strange and counterintuitive, so many will discriminate against women if they are caught involved in gambling. Actually, anyone has no problem getting into gambling when they are old enough and understand what they are doing in gambling. It's not always negative about gambling, it can be just a means of entertainment or a small game played with some small money too. What is dangerous is when gambling is used as the main income and causes addiction.

That is true, just like most men, they have their own reasons and we can't pinpoint the majority reason here.
But in my experience, a lot are trying to gamble just for the experience, that's true to have fun as well.
However, when women got addicted, they for sure have similar reasons as most men gamblers.
In any case, we are all human, so yeah, regardless of the gender, we are all prone to gambling as it is already innate to humanity.

I think women gamble because they are curious to know what gambling is like. They may have heard from their male friends that gambling is fun, exciting, and provides a challenge to win some money. But it could also be that the reasons said by @OP are the reasons put forward by women because if it is about reasons, they can say various reasons that will never be the same. Whether it is a man or a woman, they can both gamble for a long time, especially if the man or woman does not have self-control. We know that gambling addiction can happen to anyone regardless of gender, so men and women must be careful when they are gambling and should not gamble excessively.

Whatever it is, we all have our own reasons why we gamble. Regardless of the gender, there's no difference from a gambling man and gambling woman.

But let us say about what you've mentioned about a woman that just want to socialize. It's like for some movies that I have watched that they go there for some different purpose but that's included.

Many factors not just about those and just as us, there could be only one main reason why they gamble and that's to win money and none other than that.
