Indeed, in some countries Bitcoin is usable to buy stuff. My point was that it is far from being the case in many countries.
I can only talk for myself, being from a Western country of Europe, where Bitcoin is not usable to buy anything, most of my friends or relatives always ask me the same question, what can you buy? And from my personal experience, I only used Bitcoin to play poker or bet on sports, that's the only service I bought with Bitcoin.
But I would love to be able to buy flight tickets with Bitcoin in the future, or cars, real estate, etc. Still a long way, hope we will get there eventually.

Talk about Bitcoin with any newbie, most of the time they will ask you this: what can I actually buy with Bitcoin?

And the answer for now is: very few things, unless you are in a country such as Japan. .. so for me this is the major issue with crypto currencies (in general) nowadays. Very few adoption for using it in daily life. But we will get there.

In Shoreditch , in London you can pay for your coffee and beer in quite some pubs with Bitcoin. Also you can buy BMW with Bitcoin and so on. Also in Canada you can buy jewelry and diamond with Bitcoin and so on. Obviously we need more adoption and more wide usage and this is especially true for other altcoins and new ecosystems such as Ethereum Classic and Yggdrash and so on.

Mass adoption may not start at one particular day. It is a long and continuous progress and I guess it has already started some years back itself. One of the main problem of bitcoin and bitcoiners must be, lack of merchants accepting bitcoins for our life's daily needs. I guess that problem will find its solution when more people start using bitcoins as a currency rather than using bitcoins as an investment assets.

I guess we are more motivated to use it when we bought it at 3130 or this sort of price and we are using it when it is over 20000. Especially those guys who bought BTC at 1$ and they have used at 20000$:)

To my opinion at the moment the biggest problem at the crypto market is lack of new investors. On the other hand there is a problem with existing investors who often have too big expectations and are to greedy for unreal profit. Also, after a huge progress of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies and increasing number of users it looks now like this process started to slow down and we are still far away from mass afoption. Cryptocurrencies still have a long way to go.

Nice summary. The adoption will increase with the increase of prices. I know we have a dip at the moment but BCH is still more than 100% more compare to its lowest point.

Its the wild west as they say. Even with the regulations coming its going to stay that way and the only solution that has to be done by investors is to research which project they support. You will not mind the fud if you knew the team can deliver. So much project had been created in the past and if they survived the great crypto winter of 2018, they will survive til the adoption is realized.
Lack of regulation in crypto is the biggest issue for this market. Due to no control over digital currencies, there are many scam schemes which allow people to gain money through scam ico and such stuff. If everything is regulated, not only price of bitcoin and altcoin will be stable, but at same time only quality ICO will come which will help people to gain benefits.

Hi,
According to you what do you think is the main problem at the moment in the crypto world?
So why we don't see real life adoption yet and so on.

According to me the answer is simple. People from the general public treats crypto as a new style high risk gambling. They don't take it seriously.

What is your opinion?
I think this is an important topic, and very broad topic as well.

I guess bitcoin must be doing now also its magic of attracting new investors but selling pressure from whales and other bitcoiners seem bigger than new investors. It means we need more new investors or few billionaires need to start adopting bitcoins to overcome those selling pressures.

The moonboys are just a byproduct. The limited supply of Bitcoin and other coins means that as adoption increase, price increases. You can't have massive investment gains in crypto markets and then expect people not to chase those gains. It's human nature, greed.

in many projects it is not necessary to believe as half of it is a Scam...solid Scam. if you now participate in many ico then what some and shoot one hundred percent) do not even think to stop there)if you stop everything and nothing in the wallet and will not be replenished)

According to me the answer is simple. People from the general public treats crypto as a new style high risk gambling. They don't take it seriously.
Why?
I think the main reason is the moonboys and Fudsters.

Mass adoption takes time. Even cell phones aren't ubiquitous after all this time. It took more than 20 years to reach 80-90% world market penetration.

We can't just instantly get to worldwide adoption, especially since Bitcoin is still so new and experimental. Think about it, Bitcoin was bootstrapped from nothing! It began with one online pseudonym publishing the software on a mailing list. The rate of cryptocurrency adoption is quite astonishing when you think about that. Its use has spread across the world and supposedly 5%+ of all people in developed countries like the U.S. now own some.

The moonboys are just a byproduct. The limited supply of Bitcoin and other coins means that as adoption increase, price increases. You can't have massive investment gains in crypto markets and then expect people not to chase those gains. It's human nature, greed.

Everything is clear and everything is fair in crypto currency only those who got less information are little confuse and they are not sure about their thinking about investments. We need to be confidence and we need to learn skills and we should invest as much as we can. The market move will be upward if we will keep on investing.

Yes, especially if we invest into the right projects even if they are risky investments. Yes, obviously invest into more than one project. Diversification is super thing even if you got one main project like I do have one main investment as my name suggests that:)

Hi,

Hello.

The main problem is educating the whole world of what crypto really is. And we can't stop those people that are educating the people the wrong way and gives wrong perspective about crypto. This creates confusion for those aspiring investors who wants to get started to crypto's. Instead of being encouraged and confident about crypto's adoption in real life, those FUDs and negative perspective and opinions gives them the reason of not pursuing it. So in short, it is the FUD and fake news that comes out.

I agree. We have a responsibility to bring some sanity and balanced view and create some clarity instead of confusion and unnecessary Fud.

Many newbies are really the problem here like they fall in the trap of manipulation here in crypto then of course the scam or hack about some site like trading site so market can drops by that and usually FUD also kill the mind of some users still there's a way in that just wait because the longer will crypto stay then many veterans here will combine like in the end we all know how investment here works

Sure, yes once I was a beginner and for me to pay the beginners mistake cost me at least around £15000 loss straight away. I have invested into two scams. Once was maybe only a failed project and not a scam, but it is hard to decide what was it:)

Moonboys and FUDsters ain't the only problem, most of it are ICOs with unicorn promises. If I have the money, I won't care about the price, I would just need to know the technology behind cryptocurrencies and tokens. Some newbie investors ain't asking for ROI, these people are the true futurists. But the majority of newbies wants to hear 1000x and the convenience of using it.

Well yeah, I am a futurist for sure, however if something is useful that will be successful and eventually this will mean also a very good ROI isn't it? Which is good.

The problem is the mainstream media they somehow easily influence the general public that bitcoin is a ponzi scheme and even gets worse when some big names spread FUD like jp morgan CEO of goldman sach's who was telling people crypto is a scam but recently bought and heavily invested in btc. So i think this whole thing is just a show to bring down the price for institutional investors to buy in cheap. Haven't you heard blockchain is getting mass adopted, facebook crypto token is coming, bakk and fidelity is investing in crypto. So I think there's a big adoption coming.

Yes exactly. Big money want this to get the cheapest possible way. Cheaper than 3130. However I doubt whether they can have this even maybe at 2900. BTC won't go to 1500. If yes, I go all in at that point.
Yes, the media and Jamie Dimon and all the big company happy to use all the nasty tricks, and fake news and so on just to get it cheap.
