Put the SD card inside time capsule and cement it under your room floor or garage floor. No one will ever get it even the smartest of all time unless he see you burying it on the floor.

A hardware wallet is the only solution since it is not connected to the internet however there's no such thing as safe if it's on the internet you are vulnerable to online thieves and if physically they could stole it to you however there's a password to it that only you could open.

First of all the two methods you have mentioned, both the Nano SD Card and the paper wallet can all be destroyed by water and fire. I don’t think thieves will know that you are into cryptocurrency if you’re keeping it to yourself, unless you’re the type that talks about it in public and get yourself involved in any crypto conversation which will expose you as a target to anyone that will have such intentions of stealing it from you. So, the first thing is to just keep shut and mind your business.

You can store your crypto anywhere, you can make use of even your smartphone and store it in a good mobile wallet and then use of one those privacy apps to hide the crypto wallet app so that anyone that opens your phone wouldn’t see anything related to crypto. Then you can use Trezor hardware wallet and keep it somewhere safe at home.

This makes me wonder what is the most discreet (and efficient) way to hide your crypto from thieves? I'm open to suggestions. Feel free to share your wild and crazy ideas about it here. Thanks in advance. Smiley
For some this is a hard thing to do, the only precaution you need to take is to avoid boasting about your investment in social media or in the public and if you can do this basic thing then no one will target you. For many it will be hard to contain themselves in a crowd and usually boast the amount of money they made through cryptocurrency and so is the reason they will be targeted.

A hardware wallet is the most reliable, storing it there not only does it gives you security, it also gives you the ability to store it offline, not only that but you also have the ability to store it somewhere safe, a nano sd card is actually good, no doubt it's a practical way to store your crypto, the only problem left is to store it somewhere safe and somewhere in the house where a thief won't expect it.

live a discreet life don't let too many people know what you are involved in, if people know what you are into and all your wealth is in the private key that you kept, it will be easy to target you, live a modest life, discreet and modest lifestyle are two things that will save you and also be educated on how to keep your private key.

Stay low key and don't let others know that you have a huge amount of holdings because if you'll let everyone know about it, thieves might have you as their target. Keeping things in private could actually protect you. Keep your private key safe and earn silently. Have enough knowledge on how to keep your funds safe in a secured wallet.
Correct, taking this as first discreet step, also avoid social media with your identity, you can educate people if you want, and interested on guiding others on the Internet, but identity hidden can go far in your protection, a man that keeps his shit in a private toilet wouldn't fear it stinks out in the public, avoid, constant replies to crypto-currency article on public post with linkable account, you can create a business account for that. After following this first method every other discreet plans will be activated to work better.

I love your idea of hiding a crypto .
That's Verry fun and thieves won't thought of looking under the table because it was only a table anyway but theieves commonly attack at the aparadors and cabinets or under the mattress of the sofa but I'm scared that what if kids will find your SD card because kids always hide under the table. Sdcards are also prone to damage easily  .
I have lots of SD card in different brands and spaces but all are broke and decide to not use again . Won't you try hardware wallets instead and don't use paper if your exporting your seeds and keys

Is it for short term holding? or long term holding, like you're not going to move your Bitcoin anytime soon? because you can just store your Bitcoin in a paper wallet then print that, delete every traces, and hide it in an atic. If you're hardcore, you can tattoo your private key in your thigh or something  Grin

Though I mean first of all, don't tell anyone that you are into crypto. if you can't help it, at least tell it to someone you can truly trust. Most people would bother you especially when Bitcoin is being so famous right now.

To boldly go where no rabbit has gone before...
Imho combination of hardware and paper wallet.
But best bet is privacy, ie people not knowing you hold any crypto. That's your best bet, just act poor

Just create some paper wallets and just put them between some books. No thief would check all the books in a bookcase.

But probably no thief would even go in your home and try to find some crypto. The chance is way too low that the house where he breaks in got some crypto.

A small piece of paper with the mnemonic/seed could work, but it can be damaged with water and fire.

This makes me wonder what is the most discreet (and efficient) way to hide your crypto from thieves? I'm open to suggestions. Feel free to share your wild and crazy ideas about it here. Thanks in advance. Smiley

I don't think you should worry about water/fire

Just make two copies, check them often (like 3 times a year each). Keep them in separate places, like different houses.

Personally, I just hide the two piece of paper very well, and I am not worried about it.

A thief who enters my house would not find any of them.  And they are easily accessible to me. This is what matters the most.

Bisq is a Bitcoin Fiat Dex. Use responsibly
Interesting. Storing coins in memory cards did interest me, mainly due to the multi-purpose nature of memory card and how affordable they can be for most people around the world.
It doesn't sound resistant to fire or resistant to other harsh conditions, unfortunately.

One of my preferred methods to store keys is the use of strong, thin and bendable wires. It's an idea that could interest alot of people if demonstrated. And you could construct a device (or buy one if available) for shaping the wires quickly, in cryptic manner. After shaping the wires, you tie them together and hang on something or hide somewhere safe

Safety deposit box at home? then hide it not just from the prying eyes of thieves but to everyone else, maybe in your room and build a secret compartment.

Or if someone is really paranoid then get a deposit box in a bank near your place. And you can store everything, not just your crypto asset, but all personal things that really needs protection for many years.

I also think that a hardware wallet is the most reliable way to store cryptocurrency. The main thing is to use the 25th word (passphrase).
There is one more interesting way to store a SEED phrase:

How to save seed phrase in the Bitcoin blockchain

I am the best way to hide something, is to keep it in plain sight of everyone, but so that no one can blow that you are hiding it.

Do not copy recovery seed in one place, you can write down in a ledger book and copy inside a pen drive and keep in a safe location but here is what I deep, I get a stainless plate and carve the recovery seed on it, this is way stronger than paper and pen drive..

I find hardware wallet to be the best way of storing bitcoin though, no other than this

Recently, it came to my curiosity in finding ways on how to properly hide Bitcoin from prying eyes. For a hardcore crypto enthusiast like me, storing Bitcoin safely without driving unwanted attention is a must. Thanks to Bitcoin's portability, one can easily store thousands of dollars (USD) worth of Bitcoin in even the smallest places you could ever imagine. What comes to my mind is storing Bitcoin on a microSD card, put it on a small "Ziploc" bag, and tape it underneath a table. But I think this could by discovered by a smart thief. I've heard about "nanoSD cards" from Huawei which are even smaller than traditional microSD cards. But not many devices support this.

Smiley
