Separation old trust system into trust flags help to distinguish things, and therefore don't make people become mad for their different levels of mistakes. Flag gives other options, because there are little DT members whom use neutral trust for non-serious issues. Flag, with newbie warning flag, is an alternative. With separative usages of trust flags, drama will be reduced.

OP, it is good to see you started as reading forum rule, so you stole one of my smerits. Congrats.

Also, trust ratings can also be used to harass someone if a certain group of members doesn't like one particular person. I won't drop names but trust rating on this forum still shouldn't be enough reason for you to trust someone on the internet blindly.

I got you there. I believe that few people here who are/were in DT misused the best of their power by giving trust feedbacks on personal grudges with many users here, and I now believe that, to stop even these DT members (few of them) abuse their authority, these trust flags will work as a boon to the community to break the chain as I've seen extremely shitty comments and references too by some of the DT members while this Trust flag system was not there. But this newly proposed system has all it takes to stop them - DT member blacklists.

Might I add that one person with a lot of positive feedback/trust rating on his/her profile does not mean that he/she cannot go rouge and turn his/her backs on people who trusted them. Say for example, a classic one is TradeFortress who was a well-known member of this group until such time that he decided to scam people off of their BTC. Also, trust ratings can also be used to harass someone if a certain group of members doesn't like one particular person. But, when I read about trust I did not get its use. Also, in few accounts trust is only visible at the profile page which means it is hidden in the post. -snip-
Trusts can be seen directly under the member's name, especially on board of Marketplace, Trading Discussion, e.g.:

I was reading multiple features of bitcoin talk. Like if you get merits you can appricate others answers and also upgrade your account, add signature etc., But, when I read about trust I did not get its use. Also, in few accounts trust is only visible at the profile page which means it is hidden in the post.

Can someone please explain the uses of trust. I have read it who to get and other stuff. I am interested in its use.
Trust = feedback.
It has the same use as we do in ebay. Positive, Neutral and Negative. If you trade with anyone then depending on the experience you can leave any of the feedback.

Now here with this same Positive, Neutral and Negative you can do a bit more too.

If you see anyone is doing great job and if you trust their action then you are free to leave a positive feedback for the user.
If you find someone has bad intention or trying to cheat, harm the community then you can leave a Negative.
Use the Neutral when you do not have any side to pick for user.

These does not mean that you will need to do something (leave a feedback) for every action every user do. Most people do not care about it at all.

Now here is a trust flag which is new addition to the feedback system. More here: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/trust-flags-5153344

Cheers :-)

There are lies, damned lies and statistics. MTwain
<…> I am interested in its use.
The main idea should be to warn people of those accounts who, due to heavily suspected or prior proven malpractice, are deemed as untrustworthy to carry out a commercial transaction with, and if you stretch the meaning a bit more, who may scam you in some other way that could end up on you losing crypto/money.

Now that was the initial goal, that got rather twisted overtime, and that the recent changes to the system, with the addition of the Trust Flags seem to reconduct to the original idea.

Oldish now after the recent changes (but still worth a look. Need to consider there is now no global Trust score, but rather positive/neutral/negative):
