My ideal life would be a decent enough house somewhere coastal but most of my time would be spent travelling. I don't have any expensive tastes and have zero plans to burden myself with offspring. To achieve both for the rest of my days I suppose $4-5 million in current buying power would make it very comfortable.

I think realistically several hundred BTC would be needed and even that might be optimistic. People planning to retire on ten of them are to be commended for their faith and I hope it happens, but I wouldn't be betting the farm on it.

5000 BTC and I can retire right now, I can quit my job, I can buy a house and nice car. With that money I can even start some little hobby business, to have what to do every day.
I think I could go to retirement tomorrow. Just to not get up for stupid work everyday. To go there all month for what? I wish something totally different.
That is a dream, last year they moved up age in which mans and woman's go to retirement, probably I will need to work all my life.

I think 1000BTC would be enough for me to go for early retire life, because I have some amazing ideas to invest these into real life project like to buy some apartments into my area, so in this way I can generate very decent amount every month for me, this would be great achievement for me.

But i have some dreams when these dreams come true then i will step back from bitcoin and do some other business through which i can earn by doing nothing, i mean people work for me and earn money and give me Tongue

$2M worth is probably enough for just about everyone. That provides $80k a year of basic income at a 4% draw rate. You won't live like a king but it's quite comfortable.

The guys saying "I'll start a shop with $25k and get $2500 a month of income" are just dreaming. First off, a successful business requires a full time commitment so it's really no better and in many ways worse than a day job. Add to that the fact that 95% of small businesses fail and many of those that succeed have terribly small ROI's and often experience annual losses.

I have never met a slumlord who lost his shirt or had to downgrade his family home into a one bedroom apartment.  On the other hand, I have seen countless and countless small business owners who lost their shirts and had to sell their family homes to sustain a few months on their failing business.

So long as mortgage rates are low and generation millennial and generation Z are kept off the property ladder, slumlording will be a profitable endeavor for a very long time.

While my guitar gently weeps!!!
I would be happy to retire at even a million dollars and have my own house and lot, a car, and my closest relatives would also have a house and a car too. I won't be bothering about going to work or tending my business if I have successfully achieve that goal. I'm not greedy, I just want to have a better life for me and my family and not the ultra-rich type person almost anyone wants to be. And, I think, bitcoin would help me reach that goal yey!

A million dollar aside from my monthly pension would be enough too for me, that would be very big if I convert it to the currency in where I live... That's my plan too, if all of my brothers and parents and my sone are all settled, that's the time I could say I had enough, they are the reason why we keep on working and earning, when we see that they have a good life and earning, perhaps it's useless to work harder...  Smiley

Rental properties are easier but similar problem - the type of property one can buy for $25k is going to require massive amounts of maintenance and will attract tenants who dislike paying rent and excel at trashing the place. Very often wildly unprofitable.

A nice house for me would include a large parcel of land where I could grow vegetables and fruits, so that's something less I'd need to buy. I could also trade some of those for fish with a fisherman, meat with a farmer, etc., so again less money needed. My electricity would come from solar panels and wind turbine combined with a battery bank. My pool would be a natural one without the need for any chemicals.

Haha I think it's a good idea if it is used as a flurry when we retire. moreover, we can get the money from the sale proceeds. To me, making my own business for the pension fund seems like a good thing. IMO

I would say that 1.5 million is enough to retire in a really cool and safe country, probably in Europe in some of the south european countries or eastern european ones. Poland has some really cool beach locations and with that kind of money you would never need to work ever again. Of course, if you are going there, the language barrier is very annoying since most people don't talk english.
It would also be enough if I'm only going to be talking about myself but I do want to help ease up the life of my children too so even if I have achieved my own goal, I'd still try to earn just a little bit more for them, although I may not apply the same effort as I did while earning for myself but at least I'll be able to help my children.

How many bitcoins you would must have that you can go to retire?

What would be your point, that you would say i go and quite my real life job and i dont trade anymore?

The more the better, but i would say 500 btc. Grin

I don`t think that i`m going to save that amount and retire.

It`s a mission impossible for me.

In line with you, I also felt till the end we still need money. And if we retire then automatically we do not get revenue. Just like you, even though I already have bitcoin that much, I will not retire until I am no longer able to to do it. Thank you
