My aim is to get 1000 bitcoins. After I reach that amount, I will retire and live on those coins.
I think with bitcoin prices are still below $ 500. I think it is not enough for you if you want to live in luxury. you need more bitcoin if you want to live a comfortable and luxurious

No worry, i think he believe bitcoin price will raise a lot in future.
Also, i'm sure he also have saving in fiat currency.

What is my money aim? Well all I need from this life is an own house, a paid-for car and probably enough money to go on vacations abroad every other year and also most importantly not to be cash-strapped so I could buy average things priced reasonably and I wouldn't need to budget my expenses. This may sound like a lot of requirements but in reality I don't want to be rich or anything I just want to live a normal life. Now I don't know where the price of Bitcoin will take us in 2 or 3 decades from now, but if I manage to sell off my stash of coins for say $300k I would be very happy from a financial perspective. I am not planning to retire early as I am content with my day job and I would use that extra money from Bitcoin to fulfill my dreams and achieve things on my bucket list  Wink

Well I haven't set any goals but I certainly wouldn't be averse to making a few millions. I've always wanted to buy a small private island and live there by myself  Grin A 2-Acre undeveloped island in the Caribbean would cost me only around $275k but there are some pretty awesome islands out there and I could afford to be picky if I had a few millions  Roll Eyes

Firstly, since BTCitcoin price isn't completely fixed at certain value, it will be hard to choose certain amounts of BTCitcoin for retiring since it could go either way. When the day comes that I want to quit my real life job, I'll make sure that I don't need anything (physical matters), therefor I could have as little as single BTCitcoin (just as a symbol of knowing a great technology) and yet go ahead and retire.

The moment where I can match my current investment into my retirement funds, I would be satisfied that I would be secure enough to survive inflation in the future. That is a significant amount, but a good goal, if Bitcoin can just break through into the mainstream environment.

I would retire like a king, if this happens. ^smile^

About $650k in BTC. With that invested in a smart way, in crypto, I think I could quit my job and retire.

One thing to note - consider a 1 year sabbatical once you reach 1000 or so BTC. It will be a real grind to reach 4000 and the year off will give you energy to keep charging forward.

4500 BTC, give or take, at the current exchange rate. Ideally, would also want a home fully paid off so no mortgage or rent.

How many bitcoins you would must have that you can go to retire?

What would be your point, that you would say i go and quite my real life job and i dont trade anymore?
The more I have the better it is.I wouldn't mind going retire if I have 10,000 coins anything below this and I am still in quest to make more and more

I think the reality is tell death. I think not single person of any age can say that he has no  interest in money. eather he is in any condition. every body love currency. every person like money at any stage of life.so we can say that there will no ending of earning money.

Bitcoin wise, I'd be willing to keep going until I retire from my fiat job and go to live where-ever I end up. What I'd like to see before I retire, however, is finally crossing the line of having worked for 1BTC, and then work my way to 2, 5, 10, and then stop at some point.

I don't know if I'll even be interested in this at that point, so I may only ever cross the threshold of holding 1BTC and finishing up there, holding it until I need to sell it.

500 bitcoins (on this current price) could be enough for me not work and just hang out in mid range.
But for retire I need little more.

100BTC or even 50BTC is enough for me to quit my real job, then I can build my own real business and earn profit with it but I think it will hard to forget bitcoin so I will still trade bitcoin.
Owning a minimarket is my dream Smiley

you will be surprised how little that amount is these days, and wont last 2 minutes to setup any type of business,
you would not even be able to buy the property for your business at those amounts

Perhaps it is small amount for you and for some other people, but it is big enough for me to start my real business such as a small shop. I have a friend who owns a small shop and he only start with around 250,000,000 rupiahs (equal to 41btc). Half for the property and half for the stocks..
Big or small depends on where we are living imo.
