We all know the vast collection of cryptocurrencies but most of them are just not worthy for a long-term wait. Invest in bitcoin or ethereum, (for example) and just leave them on your wallet for 1 or more years and you will see a profit you never see before.
Ripple and Ethereum are the coins I think very fit for long term investment. But it doesn't mean you will be complacent you need also to study current events that might affects this coins.
Almost all coins grow in price over time. But I would single out the following: bitcoin, etherium, IOTA, SC. In my opinion, these coins will definitely grow in value. And they should be kept and not sold.
Etherium. still we need to see the momentum on daily basis 
it should be dynamic and it has wide-range of usage in any platforms. And also these coin should be already stable in the crypto market so that if you are planning to hold it for a long-term, you will not regret it at the end just like ethereum, since it was released way back before many ICOs based on this coin that is why it became a strong and top altcoin of all time.
I know it takes time to wait for a technology to mature, but it does not help if I choose the wrong coin. Where do you see the potential of this coin?
I think the best coins for a long term are bitcoin and ethereum. Also I think stellar, monero, IOTA and Waves have really good potential to bring good profits in the future with the long time investments.
I know IOTA relies on the "internet of things", which isn't fully developed yet but in 5-10 years I believe it will be really popping.
IOTA is one of the best long term holds IMO because they become relevant as newer technology is implemented.

I invested Aion too. I do not know what the third generation means. I think I made a little amateurish investment
but I think it will be very valuable until the end of the year

there are many tokens that have the potential to grow, but i only choose those altcoins who ahs below 100 satoshis in value, So I can maximize the profit and make the waiting worth.
i do punch the moon with buying some 1 satoshi coins and set a sold wall for about 20-100 satoshis. this really great. one of the example on this is XP i bought some tokens and earned 10x of my initial money.
Always pick up a good coin which has a proven market. For example last year when ETH $ price was 159$ i bought some exchanging my BTC little knowing that ETH/BTC was 0.087... (I was really armature that time, didn't have any idea what so ever.) Later when I started learning crypto I figured out that although the $ price was less but I paid really high price in BTC for those ETH.

Different people will give me different advice, in naked eyes i did not make any profit from those ETH but to me I DID win. I at-least got my BTC back. Did not lose any BTC those I invested buying the ETH. If I would panic I might sold my ETH for over 70% lose or more i guess....

Ethereum and Bitcoin.
Ethereum because it has many uses and so many Dapps can be created on top of Ethereum. If those Dapps become successful then the ether token will become successful too.
Bitcoin because it is the original cryptocurrency. Without bitcoin there are no other cryptos. It is the flagbearer of cryptos. It's circulation is very limited and it's almost price is sure to increase in the future.

Rebellious coin has a huge potential
I think Etherium,Neo,Eos is my top3 for next 2 years, im waiting them in top of the world. Neo can be not there if China will continue to put pressure on crypto.

You have to read their whitepaper. The potential of the coin depends on the technology that they are trying to solve. Is it a new idea, The credibility of the team also helps the value to climb. Partnership of big companies also a plus for the increase of its value.

I might be totaly wrong but my subjective feeling is that pretty soon the market will be overloaded with low quality coins / tokens promoting another variation of any new blockchain or anything else that already exist in some other way. Only strongest will survive. IMO it is almost impossible to evaluate the full potential of the very new coin / platform / project / whatever, because no one tried it. Usualy you also don't have any access to the full code of the project so you also can't try to evapuate it from the technical side. ICOs are risky and thats why they are bringing so much profit. If you have enough fund to invest those coins who have potential in near future much better, just like bitcoin, ethereum, cardano and iota or maybe in top 5 high price volume in the marketcap. These coins now having a good potential and they are have strong fundamental technology and made coin solid for long term holding. So if you holding that now good luck were the same path way.

Nothing you can invest in right now but one of the most promising coins coming is grin. The people working on that decided to build their own coin instead of integrating it with bitcoin directly or as a sidechain. I would say bitcoin ethereum and iota because these two are good for long term investent buy know especially bitcoin and ethereum vecause there will be a pump fpr these two and iota gather a lot then wait for it to go boom
