I don't think some of the gamblers we are having newly in the system do pay much attention to how they could learn and acquire the knowledge on gambling in other for them to enjoy it without having a misconception, some could be gambling and do things in the wrong ways, but because they were not aware of what they are doing in the wrong manners, they couldn't achieve the required success in except they follow the due process of gambling in the right manner, though this may not be the expected model for determining for winning or loosing.

IMO both have an equal share in making someone a gambling addict.
This is not without reason considering that when we play and win then we will think that gambling will be profitable and it is an easy thing to get profit so they will definitely continue to play in the hope that they continue to win and benefit from gambling that is done.
As for when losing this can also be one of the addiction factors because not a few people who lose will continue to bet in order to restore the losses they have received before so they will continue to gamble because of the ambition of the defeat that has occurred.

By looking at this, both (losing and winning) remain the same where everything has the potential to make people addicted because in the end addiction sometimes stems from the frequency with which people play gambling which makes them forget that self-control is important.

Yes this is true on which on the moment that you would really be losing, then the main thing that comes up into your mind that you would really be needing to break even with those loses on which this is the main thing that makes you desperate since you've been thinking about this kind of act on which we know that this is something which it isnt really that recommended. This is why you should really be that careful on the things that you are really that dealing with and never expect too positive towards gambling because if you've been making it as a source of income then you are just basically putting up yourself on big trouble. the situation occurs because they have won and finally make gambling as another alternative to get money. when gambling is increasingly uncontrolled, the end result is addiction.

If I'm to give a straight answer, I will just say greed is what get some gamblers addicted.

However, this is not the only reason for addiction, addiction could come through the mind of placing gambling as a hobby, and whether it is positive or negative for the person (money or fun or both), it doesn't change the fact that the gambler could be addicted through it.

Again, desperation may make gamblers addicted, but this is different from the one related to greed as explained above. The gambler might have lost initially and wanted to recover the losses and becomes desperate in the revenge quest. To some, it could be for the moment, but to others, it lingers every time they come back to gamble and before they know it, they are already addicted to it.

Sadly, in this situation and mindset, they will unlikely recover anything but lose more to gambling.

If a gambler wins continuously, they will feel the adrenaline rush, and they will continue to play because... who doesn't? Disciplined ones maybe. A gambler wins consecutive times, they will not feel the contentment but they will feel that they need to win more because they have it. They will continue until such point where they will end up losing their money. This isn't the case for all of the gamblers, but most are.

Speaking of losing, when a gambler loses their money, they will feel that they need to recover their money for various reasons. They will feel that they need to borrow money to other people especially if they don't want to end up losing their money. You will see that a gambler is already addicted to gambling when they lose their money when they will do everything just to have the capital like selling their stuffs, borrowing money from other people and even begging.

Overall, whether it's winning or losing, it can be addicted to gambler, but in different ways only.

It is not the winning or losing that makes a person addicted to gambling, but the emotions that a person experiences during the game. I think that winning or losing is important as a person experiences during the game. I am not an expert, but in fact, the topic of addiction is most likely not easy to answer in one message, reducing everything to only losing or winning.

Exactly, that emotion while playing most probably the reason why a person got addicted, it can trigger from both side of it either you are winning or losing that urge inside you that keeps you wanting to play more that feeling is responsible for you getting hook deeply and become addicted, you need to have that control and be well aware that without limiting your stay the chance of gaining deepre problem because of addiction can ruined your life, avoid while you still have the chance.

I want to add something, greed doesn't only make some gamblers as addicts but almost 100% of the addicts are addicted because of the greed. Every gambler who's addicted to gambling has had that greed which cased gambling addiction.

Unfortunately, no one can escape from the power of greed as that's a very powerful emotion, however those who gamble for fun don't chase the money part and such people won't make huge amounts in gambling but they do enjoy it without winning.
