The Bitcoin Standard is the first book I've ever read to simply explain the properties that make money valuable.

If there were such a thing as a 'Bitcoin University', Satoshi's white paper would be covered on day one, and this book would be covered on day two.

Its the demand that makes the bitcoin valuable. If there is alot of demand and the supply is not enough it will automatically increase its value.

No standard here to make bitcoin valuable like money.
Same, money only paper who anyone can replace it like original fiat, so why money have valuable?, because they have background by goverment as said money as orginal with sign by otority goverment security.
Bitcoin have valuable because everyone believed, all transcation writed and value has came like basicaly economy knowledge as suply and demand

i think what makes bitcoin valuable is the demand, if the demand is there then the value of bitcoin will certainly increase.

I think Bitcoin's value lies in transparency and non-inflation, not controlled by any other individual or organization, which is more than enough to create trust for everyone.

Speculation is the main reason why Bitcoin has value right now.

Aside from the news who greatly affects the price of Bitcoin, investors who are speculating its price help too to make it valuable. If the investors know that it will rise then they will buy and vice versa.
I don't think so! Speculation will just help bitcoin to move up. But I don't think it is the main reason why bitcoin is valuable. The primary reason why bitcoin gets value is that people buy it. No other reason than the power of the people. If many traders put their hand in bitcoin, definitely it goes up. Speculating the price is just a tool that serves to surge the bitcoin.

I agree with you here. The 'speculation drives prices' narrative really needs to die out. People speculate on all sorts of things, but Bitcoin still continues to grow in value (over the long term). Speculation doesn't grow consistently over 10 years. Speculation is a pump and dump game. Bitcoin is about sound money.

I think what makes Bitcoins valuable is actually
       *Demand and Supply*

Anything that gets out in the market does have value which justifies it's building till now , what the makers have invested in it , what they have given to the team which actually did the coding and the upstream processing. This is how it's value was given and with time since the demand increased and the supply was limited the price rose over time .
Mining only adds a few in a limited time , thus it's not something that is unlimited.

Bitcoin's value? It has no value.

We all know that Bitcoin is so expensive so why do I say that it has no value, what I am saying is the intrinsic value of Btc. It has no Intrinsic value that is the reason is you strip the price of USD to BTC, it will have no other value. I think what you mean is the price of it. The price makes it attract other investors, they always want to ride with the hype.

Exactly, that is just how money works this days and possibly how it will work in the future.

The Venezuelan dictatorship trying to make a coin where they can cheat(Of course) backed by the oil reserves of the country. That is not a viable coin/currency for the future or mankind at all.

You have to understand the implications in the really big picture to understand why the intrinsic value in money is not viable considering the rapid rate at which humanity's population is increasing.

Even in the gold business they don't deliver only gold, but papers saying that when they mine that gold, it's yours.

A book that I really enjoyed was Digital Gold : The Untold story of Bitcoin by Nathanel Popper. It is books like this that open people's eyes to the potential of this technology and how people are screwed by the Fiat system.

The true value in Bitcoin is summed up into one word, FREEDOM and once you get a taste of that FREEDOM, you just want more and more. The rabbit hole is in front of your eyes and books like this shows you the way to the entrance.  Wink

I don't disagree with much of what guys like Popper say, but I kind of find the idea of digital gold slightly askew from the other concepts of freedom. My case in point is how most of the vocal whales and active investors really actually haven't freed themselves from fiat and continue in fact to play in the system willingly and deliberately, if not even help that system perpetuate.

Not knocking them at all. Theirs is also the freedom to use Bitcoin as they see fit but yeah, I get the idea the ones who really use and progress it seldom see it as gold/investment or whatever. Maybe I'm being naive though, eh?

Are the information you found on this book cannot be found else where on the internet? And is the information here are just speculation?
I’m pretty sure you can also find that on other sources, they just have different perception and way of teaching but the whole concept will be almost the same. Bitcoin becomes valuable as the demand increases and as many companies adopt the technology, the future developments will be the reason of expensive bitcoin in the future.

You can find answers of your question in its features!
Bitcoin is limited and will be only 21 million. So if you compare any FIAT money with it. I think you can understand. Supply-Demand!
Bitcoin is decentralized. So no one increase or decrease total supply. And no one control it!
Bitcoin is transparent. (This is the feature of blockchain actually but valid for BTC.) You can track all transaction easily with blocks.

And BTC has a great community support. All world be aware it potential now.
Yes it is valuable because of us ,
Because we put so much demand for this crypto because we trust it so much and we believe in it.
Because it gives us freedom and anonymity and the supply is limited so the demand would continue to grow.

Imo bitcoin's value is what it makes valuable. People see an opportunity to earn from bitcoin so they invest on it. If bitcoin has low value today I'm sure it won't be popular. If it has no use on the future technology no institutions will acknowledge it. People will find other where they can benefit to it,

Bitcoin's value? It has no value.

Bitcoin is the first crypto asset backed by the blockchain. Bitcoin is valuable thanks to the number of users that have it and the number of banks and services which carry it.

Exchanges like Paxful which has low or no fees makes it extremely simple to buy and sell bitcoin for over 300 other payment methods.
