i don't know which new coin is promising, but the Defi project has swept all the attention and therefore I think it's a great place to start, also ETH and Bitcoin are still maintaining their top positions and growing strong too. maybe you can try investing in the Defi project.
if you ask me i would advise you not to go for some short time pump and dump projects , rather look qt big projects with some real good use cases.

Look into top defi project and still progress new defi project. DIA, Oikos very promising with those who have created the fastest storm in the market are very fruitful. These two new projects are more attractive as their marketcap, price, volume is favorable to all investors. However some projects are entering the market with defi tags so pick them up and refrain from investing. If the defi market continues like this, many investors will get good profits this time.

defi projects are definitely so hype right now, but does the history will also do the same now or it is going to be positive? we do not know yet. there are lot of good defi projects out there and it can be a great milestone and people could make more money from there because other projects are so dead and dip into the ground

Proof of Honesty thats something that sounds interesting. I will have a look at Geeq . I have stayed away from Defi so far maybe I have to start looking at some IEO as others have suggested.
Almost any new project looks attractive and perfect, defi being a real example, almost everyone who joins the forum talks about defi, However we have to look at some IEO for reference so as not to get caught up in fake projects. Before making a choice, Calculate the potential profit, time period, and the level of risk that will be faced. 
My attention right now is almost solely on the DeFi space, especially for the quick flips, but recently I became quite a fan of Geeq. They will introduce their own consensus mechanism called PoH (Proof of Honesty), but their mainnet is still far away, so that could play a major role on its price action. Nonetheless, give it a peek if that tickles your fanny.

Defi project still hype today, and i think this is still good, but i suggest you do not follow others without deep research, if you ask me, i am choosing polkadot from defi and i will invest when it listed on verified exchange such as binance or kucoin. some people before me said it is good and i do research and found thats legit.
It seems most of the comment recommends DeFi projects and I don't saw anything wrong with that. In fact, I heard a lot of stories that they made an undeniably great reward out of it. However, this coins are pretty much good for hunters that are looking for temporary profit I'd say hence if you are looking for a coin that you can hold for such a long time then perhaps a token that has good volume and liquidity might be perfect for it. Try looking at Top coins in the market to lessen your risk exposure as well. DeFi tokens are indeed worth to invest I'm not gonna lie but I doubt that it will last long because some people will try to mess this up just like what they did in ICOs before.
Link is the best Defi project in this market and it is in the top 5 coinmarketcap, I believe its price will continue to increase in the future so you can buy and hold it. Besides, new projects related to Defi are also becoming popular, in 2021 Defi projects will certainly dominate this market.
Defi can be a priority for investing, very hard for new coins to get into the top 10 coinmarketcap, but DEFI can do it very easily. The new blockchain era has started, defi has provided fresh air for the cryptocurrency world, now is the time to invest in defi, lest we miss the ship when the price has soared. As of now Im focus of what is already tradable yo the market and we know most of them are in the top 10 which is demand for this now because market are rising so it's good for you to buy also a coin who in the rank.
About new promising coin I don't see who is potential because mist of the coin has been developed is a sh*t coin so it will waste your time and money also if you are choosing to invest to the new altcoin.
Yes! It is good to trade for top 10 coins in the market right now. Anytime, they will move up after this consolidation. We just need to wait for the ghost month to end so that, coins will be back in their momentum right now. The top coins and defi coins are the mainstream right now. They are the one that has growth and potential to grow because defi projects hyped the market. Look at BLZ. About new promising coin I don't see who is potential because mist of the coin has been developed is a sh*t coin so it will waste your time and money also if you are choosing to invest to the new altcoin.
From my point of view, there are 3 on my radar. DIA, a defi project. Cartesi and multivac. All these three looks promising to me and have the potential to grow in the near future.
the current Defi project is very profitable because many people can make money easily, and in my opinion the promising coins now are the projects I am following now, maybe you can look at them and do some research

most Defi project success now in market , price could pumped hundred times and even thousand percents pump. i don't know is it good or bad for cryptocurrency market, i am worry if many investors be the victim from current mega pump on altcoin. becarefull if we pick a token from uniswap dont ever trapped in fomo or hype, there are alot project there that used Defi in their name. just buy with small bag then hold in two or three months, and set your eyes to Uniswap exchange
